Chris Harrison Previews Compelling, Scandal-Free Season of The Bachelor

In an exhaustive and not very revealing new interview with TV Guide , King of All Pimps Chris Harrison previews the new season of The Bachelor. In Chris’ defense, he can’t yet reveal The Bachelor spoilers we’ve already posted. His job is to get people pumped for the return of Brad Womack. That return, he says, was not easy for the star – or the women. “There’s a large group out there that’s like, ‘Screw this guy. I hope he falls on his face and gets what coming to him,’ and he does,” Harrison said. Brad, who dumped both DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft three years ago, faces some skeptical contestants – and Pappas and Croft – January 3. But despite the animosity he initially feels, Harrison says an old-school Bachelor progression follows, sans the “crazy scandal” of recent seasons. “There was no crazy scandal,” Chris says. “It either happens or it doesn’t … Someone sleeps with one of our producers or they don’t. Someone has a girlfriend back at home or they don’t. We’re always at the whim of our contestants.” So what CAN we expect from Brad Womack this winter? “There’s a lot of drama, but my guess is Brad doesn’t know or hasn’t seen 95 percent of it,” Chris says. “It’s definitely one of those seasons where he’s not privy to a lot of it and will be shocked by what’s going on behind the scenes.” As for the lack of Rozlyn Papa-style drama, Chris says “there’s a huge part of me, the normal human being part of me that is completely relieved.” “It’s kind of old-school Bachelor . Brad was such an overwhelming story going in that he overshadowed anything, anyway. Him trying to redeem himself and proving he’s a good guy, that’s more than enough to keep everyone intrigued.” “I’m kind of glad nothing happened to take away from that.” As for this year’s group of women? “What we have this year instead of scandals are unbelievably compelling, tragic stories that you will absolutely be captivated by. It’s a different group than we’re used to, a little more mature in their life experiences,” says Chris. “One thing I love about this show is they all bring their own baggage. Good, bad or tragic, that affects the show and where the show goes. It’s amazing to see how this show is pushed and pulled by everyone’s stories and their histories.” His predicted fan favorite right off the bat? “Emily. She’s a sweet, cute Southern package. Even if you didn’t know her story you’d want to put her on your night stand and keep her as a doll. She’s the sweetest thing in the world, but when you hear her story, you realize how strong she is.” Will there be any Vienna Girardi-type fights between girls? “Michelle is a polarizing figure. She might easily be the most beautiful girl on the show and knocks Brad on his backside the moment she gets out of the limo with this leopard print dress. Lo and behold, she’s the instigator in the house.” “But all Brad sees is this sweet, unbelievably beautiful girl. Regarding DeAnna and Jenni’s visit, Chris says it was a great idea because “he needs to have that closure and although they’ve already moved on and Jenni’s married and DeAnna’s about to be, I think for him it was good to have it out.” “It was a great springboard to start the show for Brad, make amends, really admit that he was a jackass and how he was afraid to make a mistake.”

Brad Womack: I Found Love on The Bachelor!

The Bachelor kicks off Monday, January 3, and amid questions of whether he’s ready this time, Brad Womack has revealed his first major spoiler so far. Well, we actually have all The Bachelor spoilers for this season. Including who he picks. Follow the link if you want to know. Here’s what Brad reveals: “I did find love. I’m very happy to say that. I’m a happy guy. It was completely different for several reasons. I was much more open to the process.” “I just had a great time.” – Brad Womack The 38-year-old hunk says he did not feel the pressure to pick someone this time and “would not let anyone pressure [him] to make a decision.” But finding love was always important to Brad Womack , so when the show approached him, he felt “really, really honored to be asked again.” “I felt like I was given a second chance. I was definitely ready,” says Womack. “I’m so happy to be able to say there is a very happy ending .” “I did find somebody, I did fall in love. A true love story happened.” Despite the happy ending, the experience didn’t start out that way. Womack admits he was very nervous about facing the bachelorettes. “I was very anxious. I was excited, of course, but I was very anxious, which turned to nerves. I was a nervous wreck,” laughs Womack. “I thought it would be easier because I’d gone through it before, but it made it more difficult. I didn’t know what the girls would think.” “It was very overwhelming. I fielded quite a few questions that first night, where I gave each and every woman a chance to ask anything.” “I calmed their fears that I was there for the right reason.” At the beginning of the season, Brad also got to see the two women he did not choose the first time, DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft . “It was a complete shock because I truly had no idea they were going to be there,” says Womack. “Jenni and DeAnna are incredible women.” “They were a little bit tough on me, but after we talked for awhile, all was forgiven and the three of us moved on. I gained some closure there.”

DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft to Return, Grill Brad Womack on The Bachelor

Brad Womack rejected Jenni Croft and DeAnna Pappas on the Bachelor a few seasons ago. This time around, we have a hunch he ends up engaged at the end. Engaged to … well, read The Bachelor spoilers here if you’re curious. In any case, Jenni and DeAnna will return to confront Brad when his second stint as the show’s leading man commences January 3. Can you say awkward? So … what have you girls been up to? A previously released promo already revealed that Womack will be greeted with a slap by one of the aspiring women this season, an event that sets the tone. Producers say many of the women will “question his intentions” and grill Brad Womack with “tough questions” despite his “radical personal transformation.” We imagine Jenni and DeAnna have a couple of things to read off the cue cards say to the man who broke their hearts. We can see some thrown drinks, too.

Kumari Fulbright Sentenced to Prison for Torture of Ex-Boyfriend

We shudder to think what a talent competition would be like in prison… Kumari Fulbright, an Arizona beauty queen who was arrested in late 2007 and charged with the brutal kidnapping and torturing of an ex-boyfriend, has been sentence to two years in jail. Along with three other men, Fulbright – a former Miss Arizona contestant and law school student – was apprehended three years ago for taking Joshua Conway hostage, holding him at gunpoint and slashing him with a knife. In addition to her sentence, Fulbright was ordered to pay Conway $15,000, which really should make up for everything. We will punish her further by directing readers to this truly amazing mug shot of Kumari. It says it all.
