No matter how disappointed you may have been with season four of “The Game,” you watched it religiously. And BET is rewarding your loyalty with a brand new – longer – season. BET, not surprisingly, has given its two recent scripted hits “The Game” and “Let’s Stay Together” new seasons, 22 episodes apiece. Both shows are shot in Atlanta and will begin production soon. “The Game,” a relationships comedy which was on the CW for three seasons but was canceled in 2009, found a new home last year on BET. There, the show debuted at a robust 7.7 million viewers and continued to draw 3 to 4 million viewers per new episode by season’s end. The original “Let’s Stay Together,” another relationship-based comedy, opened at 4.4 million but drifted down to around 2 million viewers per episode by season’s end. Relatively speaking, its retention of “The Game” audience was not that great but obviously good enough to keep around. Let’s just hope the writers get their sh*t together next season. Source

While Timbaland pulled out of the gig at the last minute, Hip-Hop was still represented by Game, Nelly, T-Pain, Fat Joe, Busta Rhymes, Taio Cruz, and the New Boyz, as well as Snoop Dogg. Nate Dogg’s close friends and family came out to remember the recently deceased singer at his funeral in Long Beach, CA. Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Warren G, and many others were in attendance. Snoop served as an honorary pallbearer at the funeral which also brought out a who’s who of west coast hip-hop including Xzibit, DJ Quik, Game, Kurupt and Daz Dillinger. “It hurts me so much to see this,” Warren G said during his speech at the funeral. “We been through a whole lot and that was my dog. He stayed down with me from the bottom to the top. I didn’t ever think I would have to sit at a funeral for one of my dogs. All I can say is that was my friend, me him and Snoop was 213 from the balls to the walls. Last night’s episode was sort of a bore. Everything seems so rushed and thrown together without the storyline having proper time to develop. Next week is the season finale, so it will be interesting to see how this season is going to end. Remember the days when one season ran from October to May? Now we only get two full moths of ‘The Game.” Dang, BET. Anyway, last night was all about new beginnings as the characters turn over new chapters in their lives, and try to move on from the past.
