Today was a big day in Hollywood for The Muppets, they were honored with their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.The unveiling ceremony for the honor, was held in front of the historic El Capitan Theatre. “We are just really happy to be on Hollywood Boulevard today, joining some of the greatest names in show biz,” said the most famous Muppet, Kermit the Frog, according to City News Service. Other Muppets on hand were Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Animal, and, of course, Miss Piggy.

Michelle Yeoh Met With Standing Ovation at AFI Fest Premiere of The Lady

Friday night at the 2011 AFI Fest, the seats in the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre weren’t quite filled to capacity for the gala screening of Luc Besson’s The Lady , which received mildly lukewarm reviews on the festival circuit. But, as it did at its premiere in Toronto, the biopic of Burmese democratic leader Aung San Suu Kyi received a standing ovation at AFI Fest — one clearly directed primarily at star and Oscar hopeful Michelle Yeoh .

While Network is the movie that prophesied the future of corporate-controlled TV news, James L. Brooks’ 1987 Broadcast News was more zeitgeist-y. The shift toward happy-talk infotainment had been going on long enough that Brooks had satirized it in the 1970s on The Mary Tyler Moore Show , but the battle against what Holly Hunter’s character calls “the historic influence of Entertainment Tonight ” had not been so roundly lost as it is now.

Provo firefighters battle a fire at the historic Provo Tabernacle on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010 in Provo, Utah. The historic tabernacle which is owned by the Mormon church and is used for religious services and community events was built in 1873.
