A bit of maintenance around Movieline HQ has resulted in some behind-the-scenes improvements — and a few design/technical quirks on the published site. Please know we’re on it! In the meantime, our commenting apparatus has been restored (though we’re still working on that as well), so feel free to resume your pithy, brilliant feedback as usual. More updates as events warrant… Thanks for your patience!
Let’s hear it for all of the Movieline readers who turned out yesterday and today to make our Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy Giveaway our best contest yet. Cheers! Applause! Maniacal Tom Cruise laughter ! When the contest ended, your loyal Movieline team locked themselves in the office to dramatically interpret each of your clever 10-word reviews (and eat lunch). An hour or so later, we have chosen our winners.
The Hunger Games preys on the box office in March, but in the meantime eight of the battledome-savvy characters are squaring off in new posters for the film. Jennifer Lawrence looks fetching under a golden haze, Lenny Kravitz looks a lot like Lenny Kravitz, and Josh Hutcherson keeps looking younger and younger. Seriously, he’s wearing his Bridge to Terabithia face here.
Lindsay Lohan mug shots are a dime a dozen. Okay, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration, but when we can compare four of them and still not even use all of the ones in our celebrity mugshot gallery, you know there’s a pattern developing … and that the girl needs a reality check ASAP. After Lohan was jailed briefly last week, she was ordered back in court Nov. 2. If the judge decides to yank her probation, the big house (and another booking photo) could come a-callin’. In the meantime, which of the mug shots below is hottest? Vote!
I accept that The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo will be the sensation of winter, and not just because it looks fantastic in its new trailer. Stieg Larsson’s thrilling Millennium series is perfect for David Fincher’s dark auteurship, and I expect his protege Rooney Mara to pull off protagonist Lisbeth Salander’s Nordic grit. In the meantime, though, Lisbeth’s cartoonishly goth appearance (shown in the movie’s new photos ) is too bizarre not to mock, and I need to get some snark out of my system before the wave of great buzz sweeps through fall. Here are 20 mocking new titles.
Justin Bieber uses Twitter to keep in close touch with his fans. But has a post on that social networking site now gotten the young singer in big trouble? Moments before Bieber’s Ferrari crashed into a Honda Civic on Tuesday, House of Pain member Everlast sent out the following Tweet: “I just raced @justinbieber down Ventura in his Ferrari I won but a fedex truck got in his way.” Street racing in Los Angeles is both illegal and dangerous, but, far more importantly: House of Pain member Everlast is still alive?!? That’s good to know. We’ll keep readers apprised on whether or not Bieber faces a penalty for his actions. In the meantime, just jump around. [Photo: WENN.com]
Of all the movies to come out in 2003, did you expect Underworld to produce three sequels? Not The Italian Job ? Or the ever-empowering What a Girl Wants ? Well, in the upcoming fourth installment of the series, Underworld: Awakening (in 3D), Kate Beckinsale reprises her role from the first two films, vampire warrioress Selene, “who escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.” Sounds urgent. In the meantime, the movie’s new teaser poster calls to mind 10 unmistakable images — some of which are silly! Join us for some curated Beckinsale art.
This app will be available soon in the Apple app store for the iPhone. It will install on the iPad and work, but it is not yet customized for it. In the meantime, have a look at some of the features. I’ll post again when it’s available. The SB Nation team is working on an Android version. SBN demo from Mark on Vimeo . Another April Fools’ Day in the books, and your friendly editors at Movieline HQ didn’t succumb to one prank. (Well, except for that for that URL promising hot casting news that led to a website shouting “PORN FREAK. “) With that in mind, let’s get out of here while the getting is good! Check back over the weekend for regular updates from Dixon Gaines, and stick around for bonus coverage of WonderCon from Jen Yamato . In the meantime, have a drink on us and click ahead for the Week in Review.
We shoulda saw it coming— that five-year-old girl who doesn’t want to marry you yet (before she has a job) has been given the auto-tune treatment. So at least you can dance in the meantime? Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : The Frisky Discovery Date : 25/02/2011 19:20 Number of articles : 2
