Karma is a beyotch. Man Who Committed Home Invasion Cut In Half By Train We know being torn apart had to be painful. Yikes. According to Des Moines Register: A man killed by a train on the east side of Des Moines Tuesday night was apparently fleeing after committing a home invasion just blocks away, officials said Wednesday. Lopez Christian Webster, 32, of Des Moines, reportedly tried to dodge between two rail cars of a moving train in the 1900 block of East Grand Avenue around 9:10 p.m. He didn’t make it. The train sliced his body in two, police said. The home invasion was reported in the 1900 block of East Walnut around 9:05 p.m., police reports show. One of the home’s residents was in the living room when Webster reportedly entered and Webster ordered the man to his knees. Two other occupants of the home told police they barricaded themselves in another room when they heard fighting. Webster allegedly yelled something the victim couldn’t understand multiple times, then stabbed the victim with a small knife. The victim suffered three stab wounds to his left arm and lacerations to his chest, right arm and neck, police said. Webster grabbed something from the house, then left, the victims said. The victims claimed they didn’t know who Webster was but provided police with a description that matched Webster. Webster reportedly ran north along the double set of train tracks, in front of a witness waiting for the train to pass. He crossed one set of tracks, then tried to jump between cars of a train on the second set. The engineer of the Union Pacific train apparently didn’t realize anything had happened and continued on. Authorities stopped the train in Ankeny. The crossing arms on either side of the tracks were down at the time. Webster has a criminal record, including drug and assault charges, going back to 2000, court records show. He was last arrested Nov. 29 for first-degree theft. That charge was dismissed.
