‘I don’t know why anybody would make it personal,’ rapper tells MTV News at South by Southwest. By James Montgomery Wiz Khalifa Photo: MTV News AUSTIN, Texas — Last month, during an appearance on ESPN, Lil Wayne discussed Wiz Khalifa’s massive Pittsburgh Steelers anthem “Black and Yellow” without actually mentioning Wiz himself. Some speculated that Weezy’s slight was intentional, a bit of revenge for Wiz taking shots at Young Money artist Tyga. Khalifa didn’t see it that way , instead describing the omission as “a missed opportunity.” It was a tellingly vague response, so when MTV News caught up with Wiz backstage at the mtvU Woodie Awards , we asked him to clarify his remarks. Was he returning fire at Wayne? “Nah, not really,” Khalifa said. “[I meant] an opportunity lost, but, you know, I feel like people have a chance to speak out and acknowledge younger people or people who are grinding and coming up in the game, and they don’t always take the opportunity. That’s all that was.” In fact, Wiz said that, if anything, he was taking the opportunity to address everyone who has slept on him in recent months. “There’s plenty of people who’ve missed that opportunity, there’s plenty of people who went back and taken that opportunity when they missed it,” he said. “It’s never too late. It wasn’t anything negative; it just is what it is. That’s the type of person I am. I’m a realistic person, so I tend to say realistic things.” And to further drive home the point that he wasn’t singling out Wayne, Khalifa said he’d most definitely want to work with him in the future and that he’s already moved on from the whole incident. “I don’t know why anybody would make it personal, you know?” he laughed. What did you think of Wayne not mentioning Wiz by name? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Wiz Khalifa Lil Wayne
“Jake#39;s really, really funny,” Michelle Monaghan, 34, says. “And I#39;d never seen that side of him in his films. To have the opportunity to spend time with him was so much fun. He#39;s fabulous.” Of course, Jake Gyllenhaal, 30, has a serious side, as well. Talking about his character, the actor shared his thoughts about what he would do if he were given the opportunity to cross over to another man#39;s identity – and it has nothing to do with French cuisine. Recent photos show the singer LeAnn Rimes, who is known for being in great shape, looking particularly slim. Referring to pictures of herself wearing leg-baring jeans shorts and an off-the-shoulder top as a “joke” and blasting the “judging” and “evil comments” that followed the photos#39; publication, Rimes also writes in response to a follower, “OVER It is right! I know how healthy I am, so really that#39;s all that matters.” LeAnn Rimes has a message for anyone judging her thin physique: “I a

After a bitter custody war with her own mom, Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans decided to capitulate. For the sake of her 19-month-old son if nothing else. “When he is older, I’ll tell him I was really young and I couldn’t put a roof over my own head, let alone his,” says Jenelle of relinquishing custody of Jace. The oft-at-odds mom and daughter tandem is working together to raise Jace, with Barbara Evans calling the shots, since Jenelle blows at parenting . Jenelle, Barbara and Jace Evans. [Photos: Us Weekly] While Jenelle takes few film-studies classes at a local community college, Barbara cares for the boy after working her full-time job at a department store. As badly as Jenelle, 19, wants Jace back from her relentlessly critical mom, she realizes she’s just not there yet. Dumping Kieffer Delp was a good start. “Once I get a job, save money and have my own place for three months, I’ll bring my mom to court,” Jenelle says of her confrontational plan of attack. At least they’re getting along well enough to pose for Us Weekly . “Jace wasn’t asked to be born,” Barbara says. “Somebody has to take care of him, and it’s going to be me. I don’t resent it. I love him to death.”
If most American Idol viewers agree that Pia Toscano put on the best semifinalist performance last night among the remaining 12 women, these same fans would say that Karen Rodriguez put on the most interesting. Perhaps even the most scandalous, according to THG readers. The New York native threw in a twist to her rendition of Mariah Carey’s “Hero,” singing almost half of the song in Spanish. This actually riled up a few respondents in our blog , who called Karen out for daring to be different. Watch the performance now and sound off: Do you see anything wrong with the inclusion of a Spanish verse? Karen Rodriguez – Hero
Rachel Oberlin has already made it clear: she’s living the dream ! How can this be the case, considering the porn star also known as Bree Olson shares Charlie Sheen with at least one other woman, Natalie Kenly? “I’ve always felt that a man should be able to be with as many women as he likes,” the 24-year old says in the latest issue of People . “I’ve never had the opportunity to share that with any man before because, honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever been with a man who was even deserving of that.” But isn’t there competition with Kenly? Nope, Oberlin tells the magazine : “Natty is totally chill and I’m totally chill and we’re two completely different people. We connect with Charlie in different ways, so there’s nothing really there to compete for. We’re all pieces of a puzzle that fit together.” Missing from that puzzle all of a sudden? Sheen’s two-year old sons, Bob and Max. They were taken away by authorities this week. “I adore them,” says Oberlin. “I’m just a really loving, passionate, compassionate person. My heart just goes out to children. I was playing with the boys [on Monday], and I was holding little Bob and I just didn’t want to let him go. It was so cute.”
Kristen Stewart has caught a lot of flack on the Internet lately, but that doesn’t mean Hollywood casting directors aren’t falling over themselves to meet with her for various high-profile projects. That might ruffle some feathers ( sorry, fanboys !), but to Stewart’s credit, she has been quite picky with her non- Twilight selections; you wouldn’t necessarily expect a teen queen to have films like Adventureland , Welcome to the Rileys and The Runaways on her resume. Stewart continues her star-shunning assault later this year in On the Road — opposite Garrett Hedlund (as Dean Moriarty) and Sam Riley (as Sal Paradise) — and the first stills from the Walter Salles film have arrived. Click ahead for a look, ya beatnik.
Sad news: Maria Schneider, the French actress catapulted to international fame in Bernardo Bertolucci’s scandalous 1972 film Last Tango in Paris before tumbling into a troubled life of depression and addiction, has died in Paris. She was 58 and, according to reports , had waged a long battle with cancer. Schneider had largely withdrawn from the spotlight since the ’70s, when she also starred opposite Jack Nicholson in Michelangelo Antonioni’s 1975 classic The Passenger ; she attributed much of the turbulence of her later decades to regret and resentment over her treatment as a sex symbol (not to mention her alleged mishandling in one of Tango ‘s most notorious scenes involving Brando and a generous helping of butter).
