Coast Guard Toughens Oversight of BP’s Effort

NYT reports… with oil continuing to leak Wednesday from a runaway well in the Gulf of Mexico despite BP’s success in capturing some of the flow, a top Coast Guard official ordered the company to come up with a plan “to ensure that the remaining oil and gas flowing can be recovered.” MORE NYT http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/10/us/10spill.html?src=me added by: joshuaheller

Ang Jun Heng alive

Mr Ang Jun Heng, 19, was alive. Of the remaining three victims of the still-unknown slasher or slashers, one is dead, and the other two, like Mr Ang, are in intensive care at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. A full-time national serviceman, one of four victims of a series of knife attacks in Kallang on Sunday, lay bleeding by the Pan-Island Expressway for seven hours before he was spotted. Half his left hand, along with four fingers had been hacked off, and he had deep cuts to his neck, face and abdome

Get better soon. Good luck on Celebrity Apprentice! Wear a condom! Ever since his April 21 brain hemorrhage , Bret Michaels has been besieged by well wishes from his ever-growing fan base. Now, though, the recovering rocker – and reality show champion ! – has a message for his followers: thank you . On the rocker’s Facebook page, he’s written: With all of my heart, soul and the remaining organs I have left (lol) I would like to thank each and every one of you for all of your support and awesomeness. All the good vibes and well wishes gave me the strength to go back to New York and win Celebrity Apprentice. I am not at 100% yet but I have every intention of trying to continue the tour starting Friday in Biloxi. I hope to see your rockin rollin, smiling faces on the road… that is the best medicine I can think of right now. You rock my world. Bret is scheduled to undergo surgery in the fall to fix a hole in his heart, so we have three responses to his posting: You’re welcome. Put your health first. Wear a condom.
