After weeks of speculation, it was confirmed today that The Last Exorcism director will helm Reincarnate , the second installment in the Shyamalan-produced Night Chronicles . The film will focus on a jury that is haunted by supernatural forces, much like Stamm may be haunted by his producer’s troubled reputation. [ Deadline ]

Is This the First-Season Plot for the Chinese Version of The Office?

Perhaps the second season, too. Many have wondered what the Chinese version of The Office will look like, but with ripped-from-the-headlines material like this, the producers will certainly have enough to work with. Via NPR : “A massive traffic jam in north China that stretches for dozens of miles and hit its 10-day mark on Tuesday stems from road construction in Beijing that won’t be finished until the middle of next month. Some drivers have been stuck in the jam for five days.” And you thought your commute was bad. [ NPR via The Awl ]

Tori Spelling’s husband Dean McDermott crashed his motorcycle for the second time this year on Tuesday, suffering a punctured lung and ending up in intensive care. The 43-year-old reality star was well enough to Tweet today, “Thanks for the well wishes. A collapsed lung is no fun, and is a lengthy heal. Feeling pretty bad today. Day 2 is always the worst.” Spelling says he’s expected to make a full recovery and ditch his motorcycle for good. [ People ]

World Cup 2010, Mexico Vs. France: Efrain Juarez Picks-Up Yellow, Will Miss Uruguay Match

Mexico’s Efrain Juarez has picked-up a yellow card early in the second half and will now miss Mexico’s third Group A match. They play Uruguay on Tuesday. Juarez was carrying a yellow card into today’ match with France and picked-up another in the 48th minute for pushing Franck Ribery after a challenge. Mexico has picked up three of the four cards shown today.

Mets’ Bay out of lineup against Indians (AP)

Left fielder Jason Bay has been held out of the New York Mets’ lineup with a bruised left thigh. Bay was injured beating out a single in the second inning of Wednesday’s 8-4 victory at Cleveland. He collided with first baseman Andy Marte and was knocked to the ground. Bay got up limping, but stayed in the game.

Arroyo homers, pitches Reds past Dodgers (AP)

Bronson Arroyo hit the first of Cincinnati’s three homers off rookie John Ely, pitched seven innings and was part of three double plays Thursday afternoon, setting up a 7-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Arroyo’s three-run shot in the second inning made Ely (3-4), a star at nearby Miami University, double over in disgust.
