New Social Network Teaser: Sony Finally Stops Its Relentless Detagging

It may not be the imminent full trailer , but the second teaser for David Fincher’s The Social Network is so clever (and so much better than the first one ) that it’s been frustrating how determined Sony was to stamp it out whenever it popped up online this week. Finally, now that the NYFF -tied announcement about the film has been made, the studio has finally given the teaser its official online unveiling. Watch, enjoy, and “like” it.

Can Anyone Explain What the Hell Despicable Me Is?

So there’s this movie called Despicable Me coming out. There are some commercials making the rounds on TV, and a few posters have popped up here and there. It appears to be animated and in 3D, and Steve Carell’s involvement is noted. I think Universal is the studio, but I can’t be sure. Movieline Casts David Chase’s New Movie

Paramount Pictures has announced that on May 8th in Manhattan, they’ll be holding an open casting call for the three leads in David Chase’s new film, “a musical-driven coming of age story set in suburbia.” So, basically, That Thing You Do! While it’s nice that the studio has given a modicum of hope to struggling actors everywhere, if you think Chase’s first post- Sopranos project is going to be some Todd Phillips-like free-for-all with a bunch of no-name first-timers, you’re crazy. Cue up some Journey, check out the casting notices, and take a look at our suggestions on who should star:

You Decide: How Much Would Anchorman 2 and Zoolander 2 Gross?

Confused by Paramount’s reluctance to greenlight the long-awaited sequels to Anchorman and Zoolander ? Mike Fleming at our sister site Deadline puts things into perspective: Neither of those films was profitable overseas and the studio would have to hope for a high domestic gross on the sequels to make the production worthwhile. So, I put the question to you: How much do you think each of these sequels could make?
