Elena Kagan Grilled on Critical Judicial Matter of Edward vs. Jacob

In her confirmation hearings this week, Supreme Court hopeful Elena Kagan has presented herself as an even-handed and experienced arbiter of our nation’s Constitution. And while we may know slightly more about her judicial point of view on such delicate social issues as abortion and gay marriage, only today did Kagan face the most important, polarizing question to date: Team Jacob or Team Edward? Video after the jump.

BREAKING: Robert Pattinson is Upset About This Headline

Look — I couldn’t agree more with Dixon’s comments here the other day about sympathizing with Robert Pattinson . I like what little of the guy I’ve seen onscreen and in person , and I wouldn’t wish ill on anyone just because they’re famous or complicit in New Moon or whatever. And I get his and Kristen Stewart’s frustration with the media machine that preys on their their every moody misstep. But to the extent I’m complicit in this very item, it might be as close to mutually assured destruction as contemporary culture gets. Someone needs an intervention.

Gleebasing: Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Skies Are Schue

After overdosing on sentimentality last night, I’ve decided to check into a Glee habilitation clinic for the summer. The offshoot of the Promises program provides a safe environment devoid of primary colors, where Schoenberg’s atonal compositions ring out across the campus all day and night, and all inspiring messages about the value of our differences have to be checked at the door (along with any shoestrings or Hall & Oates albums). It will be hard, but I was driven to this by last night’s season finale schmaltz binge, “Journey.” Let’s relive the highs and shiver through the lows, and for the last time this season, there will be a pop quiz.

New Moon Wins Most Cynical Award Ever

The Twilight Saga: New Moon was the big winner at Tuesday night’s opening festivities of the Licensing International Expo. And New Moon didn’t even have MasterCards for tweens ! Go ahead — puke. I’ve got mints. [ THR ]

So You Think You Can Dance’s Best: The Cute and the Courageous

So You Think You Can Dance ‘s audition caravan rolled into Chicago and Los Angeles last night, the proud homes of the Sears Tower and eye-searing towers of pollution. Overall, the ladies earned more direct tickets to Las Vegas, but the two most memorable auditions of the night swung towards the XY half of the audition pool. Prepare thy proudest “That’s my baby! ” shrieks for two adorable gents — one who exemplifies small-town values, and another who won’t let deafness stop him from dancing.

Hey, What’s Justin Bieber Doing in the New Eclipse Banners?

Apparently, when nobody was looking, Justin Bieber was cast as one of the Volturi in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse . Or maybe it’s just a scowly, (un)dead ringer pictured above at right in the Eclipse banner just released. At left, Eddie Munster seems to have made the cut as well. Congrats to both. Bill Condon Has Heard Enough of Your Questions Now, Twilight Fans

Twilight Nation has been hormonally atwitter ever since Bill Condon was announced as Summit Entertainment’s choice to direct the franchise’s final installment Breaking Dawn . Attempting to harness this energy over the weekend, the Oscar-winner invited fans to submit questions and concerns about the undertaking ahead. That’s probably the last time he’ll do that.
