Bethenny Frankel’s talk show was canceled back in February, and the former Real Housewife claimed she was happy it was over, as she felt “diluted” and “constricted” by the daytime chat format. Well, apparently she felt even more diluted and constricted by not getting a paycheck, because new reports indicate that Bethenny is in “serious talks” to join the long-running panel discussion show “The View.” “The View is looking for someone to spice up the show,” a source tells VH1. “Someone with lots of opinions and a big personality and Bethenny is at the top of the list.” As an opinionated, highly vocal co-host with a reality TV background, Frankel would make an ideal replacement for former Survivor contestant Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck left The View last year for a gig at Fox News. Of course, Bethenny may want to wait until things settle down a bit in her personal life before she makes any major professional commitments. Recently, Frankel settled her custody battle with Jason Hoppy after a long, bitter dispute that damaged the reputations of both parties. While Frankel has yet to make any official announcement, a source says that she’s, “very interested in getting back to TV,” adding: “It is the only job she knows. Despite the fact that she has no projects to promote and her reality show has been canceled by Oprah , Lindsay Lohan has been on a full-blown media bender for the past 24 hours. Guess that’s better than her usual benders. Lindsay admitted her sex list was real on last night’s Watch What Happens Live and this morning she co-hosted The View, where she shared more lies and not-so-stunning revelations. Linds kicked the episode off by proclaiming that her sobriety is going “great,” and Whoopi Goldberg proved why she’s an Oscar winner by somehow managing to keep a straight face. Goldberg then asked Lohan about her trip to Coachella last weekend, which Lindsay said was better than previous years, because she was in a “different headspace.” By which she probably means her head was full of cocaine. Lindsay also claimed she’s in a different place with regard to her love life these days, saying that she’s avoiding dating at the moment as men (and women) have “been a distraction” for her in the past. This being daytime TV, Lindsay was a bit more tight-lipped about her romantic past than she’d been with Andy Cohen the night before. Wow. A late night show and a morning show the next day? Rosie O’Donnell returned to The View today, seven years after leaving her spot as a host on the daytime talk show. And the panel wasted no time getting straight to some controversial topics, bringing up Dylan Farrow’s accusations against Woody Allen and asking for Rosie’s take on them. “I totally believe her,” O’Donnell said simply, citing the 1992 investigation that did NOT result in charges against the director and telling folks to read the documents because: “There was cause to prosecute, but they thought would be too traumatic for the 7-year-old child.” Earlier this week, Barbara Walters defended Allen in a very awkward exchange between View colleagues, one that made the long-time reporter sound like she’s in complete denial.
