Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima and NBA player Marko Jaric announced today that they’ve reached a mutual decision to split up. “After long and careful consideration, we have decided to separate after five years of marriage,” reads a joint statement issued by Adriana and Marko to People magazine. Adriana and Marko married in 2009 after just nine months of dating. Adriana became pregnant with the couples’ first child shortly after their wedding, and she gave birth to a second daughter in 2012. The press release from the couple emphasizes that the health and happiness of their two children continues to be Jaric and Lima’s top priority: “We are grateful to be the parents of two incredible young daughters that we will continue to co-parent. We would greatly appreciate your respect for our family’s privacy as we begin this delicate next chapter for all members of our family.” It’s always sad to see a family breakup, but we’re consoled by the fact that Adriana is back on the market.
