King Tings: These NBA Stars Offered To Pay For Stephon Clark’s Funeral

Source: Mike Ehrmann / Getty Sadly, we lost another unarmed Black man at the hands of police this week. On Sunday, 22-year-old Stephon Clark was holding a cell phone in his grandmother’s backyard in Sacramento when officers mistook for a gun and fired 20 shots at the kid. Is it just us, or the whole “I thought he had a gun” excuse is getting redundant and implausible. We heard the same thing regarding the murders of Tamir Rice and Oscar Grant just to name a few. Wow…they shot him 20 times for standing his own backyard and talking on his phone…all bc they THOUGHT he had a gun…like this stuff hurts me. That’s could be me, or one of my brothers. Damn, RIP Stephon Clark. — bonito negrito (@King_GrOOvy1) March 22, 2018 Former Sacramento Kings star DeMarcus Cousins may be a Pelican now but a piece of him is still back in the Sac. According to reports, he reached out to the family of Stephon Clark to cover the cost of the funeral. Back in 2015, Cousins covered the funeral costs for a local high school football player, Jaulson “JJ” Clavo, who was gunned down. DeMarcus isn’t the only athlete looking to help the Clark family. Sacramento native Matt Barnes sent out his thoughts and prayers for the family, asking anyone who knew the family to send him a direct message.   Hundreds of people hit the streets this week to protest the senseless murder. No word yet on whether or not the cops involved will face any consequences. Although we’ve seen this whole story play out before, hopefully this time there’s an alternate ending. Protestors have shut down the freeway in Sacramento calling for justice for Stephon Clark, who was murdered after being shot at 20 times by police in his grandparents’ yard. Cops thought he had a gun. It was a cell phone. https://t.co/prxBlsYO1X — Scott Dworkin (@funder) March 23, 2018 RIP Stephon Clark.

Meek Mill Might Get Released On Bail

W hen  Meek Mill was 21, he was convicted on gun and drug charges. Nine years later, he was still on probation. On November 6, Mill , 30, was sentenced to two to four years in prison for a probation violation (he  got into a fight at St. Louis Lambert International Airport in March 2017). During a press conference this week, Meek Mill’s mother Kathy Williams begged through tears, “I’m begging the DA Krasner… Can you please help me out?” She also said, “I don’t even understand how he’s been on probation for that many years. It’s like he murdered somebody… He has to beg to see his son. What kind of woman does that? Is she a mother? Do she have a mother?” Meek’s mother is referring to Common Pleas Court Judge Genece E. Brinkley, who happens to be a Black woman. She has been accused of extorting Meek for personal favors— she reportedly wanted him to make a song in honor of her, and when the rapper declined, he received a harsher sentence. Judge Brinkley has denied all allegations. However, Kathy Williams might get her wish, TMZ.com is reporting, “The D.A. filed docs Wednesday saying there’s a ‘strong showing of likelihood’ that Meek’s conviction will be reversed due to a police corruption scandal in Philly. Prosecutors point out hundreds of previous convictions have already been overturned, and they think Meek will follow suit, shortly.” Meek’s mother told TMZ.com, “I would like to thank the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office for carefully evaluating my son’s matter and not opposing the request for bail. The fact that Robert’s entire conviction could be overturned is a blessing and I pray that God gives Judge Brinkley the wisdom to make the right decision and allow my son to return home to his family. I truly believe justice will prevail.” Hopefully, Meek Mill, whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, will get justice. Migos Songs Get Interesting Reactions From Elders [VIDEO]

See the original post here:

Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty For some people understanding what Migos is saying in their songs can be hard. A video posted had elders listening to the group and watching them. The company even wrote out the words for the elders to read, but they still didn’t get it. Follow @TheRSMS As the first song came on everyone loved the beat and then read some of the vulgar lyrics. The elders didn’t agree with them exploiting women, talking about making drugs and felt they needed more of a positive message. In the last part they began understanding more of the lyrics and how they were talking about fashion and money. At the end of the video the young lady spoke to the elders about the success of the Migos and how they had multiple songs on Billboard 100 as well as Top 10. The elders believe that the group will break up one day and go towards solo careers. Although they didn’t like the lyrics it is somewhat about what they grew up around. One of the elders said, “Music is poetry and poetry comes from life experiences.” Watch the video and let us know your thoughts! RELATED:  Did XXXTentacion Just Escalate Tensions Between Him & Migos? Don’t Look, Ma: Sky’s Emotionally Distraught Son Genesis Praises Dutchess On IG

Santiago Felipe/Getty Images/Robin Marchant/Getty Images Sky’s Son Still Singing Dutchess’ Praises Fans of Black Ink Crew are probably wondering if  Sky’s son Genesis will ever come around to forgive his mother by the end of this season, but we wouldn’t hold our breaths. It looks like Genesis is still a huge fan of Dutchess, one of his mother’s enemies, and he doesn’t care who knows. Genesis was singing Dutchess’ praises in her comments, for helping him him when he “got out.” We assume the young man is referring to being release from prison. Genesis: Yo Dutch I jus wanna day thanks for helping me out when I 1st got out u real asf 2 me da dat idgaf what errbody else say we kno da truth watch me chase my dreams and run into dis paper tho lol u helped motivate me when I was at my lowest now ima sho dat and myself dat I can make it  @dutchessofink Dutchess denies doing any good deeds for Genesis to spite his mom in her response… dutchessofink @tashamarie206  if I did anything with malice in my heart I would have allowed them to film it which I absolutely was against. I made sure I looked out for  @g_heffner  and I never publicized what I did for him cause I did it genuinely. When people only do shit cause a camera is around that’s when u should question it. I appreciate u young king and I know this ignorance is something u don’t deserve but persevere! Make everybody eat their words and be the best u! U are everything that u desire and not what they make u out to be! Who cares if they believe the lies the only people who support that shit thinks that shit is right they probably have made similar decisions and seek validation, let the weak stay weak while they tune in to ignorance from week to week. If it’s not positive and brought in peace give it no life, never feed it, so that it never grows!!!!!! On another note, it looks like Sky’s son is now focusing on a musical career. Tomorrow, we get to see Sky’s oldest seed meet up with Ceaser and maybe he will clarify more of what he’s been through while his mom was away from him when the show airs… What are your thoughts on all of this?

Audrey Roloff: Jesus Wants You Off the Internet!

Give Audrey Roloff a bit of credit for being self-aware in her latest Instagram message. The Little People, Big World has taken to her social media page in order to encourage people… to get off of social media. Wait… what? Excuse her?!? The faithful reality star explained her point in a caption to the sweet photo above. As you can see, the image features Audrey cozying up in bed to her husband, Jeremy. And the caption opens as follows: For us, Sunday’s are for time with Jesus and friends, rest, reading, walks, games, fires, and doing our weekly marriage journal This is not the first time Audrey has mentioned her journal , which is something she takes very very seriously. Acknowledging that this message may be a tad “ironic,” Audrey continued, urging followers to read what she has to say – and then unplug their computer, basically. “If I can just convince a few of you to unplug for the rest of the day, it’s worth it!” she wrote, adding: “So I’m getting on here to tell you to GET OFF! Close this app and put your phone in a drawer if you have to! Stop scrolling, sharing, and spending and just be present. “Make Sunday a day of REST. “Comment below with an emoji that illustrates your ideal day of rest, and then CLOSE THIS APP and go do that thing!” Audrey wrote that she would get this exercise underway, sharing an emoji of flames, an emoji of books, an emoji of a journal and an emoji of a cookie. It’s safe to assume the flame emoji is a reference to daughter Ember Jean. Back in November, Audrey wrote a similar post, essentially telling God that she’ll use Instagram less often . For what reason? “As much as l love sharing my life with y’all and what I’ve learned/am learning, l never want to be someone who spends more time sharing on social media than l do seeking the Lord and searching His truths,” she explained at the time. Audrey continued late last year: “I want to be someone who spends more time reading truth, engaging wisdom, and listing for His still small voice, than sharing my own incomplete oversimplified perspectives.” So… why has Roloff not really stuck with this vow? Why does she still frequently share photos and her thoughts on social media? The reality star has mattresses to share, people ! We kid. Sort of. We definitely do give Audrey a hard time for using her faith and even her family to shill for various products, but we’d also be sad if she took a true hiatus from Instagram because that would mean fewer Ember Jean photos . And we need our Ember Jean fix! She is such a cutie patootie! View Slideshow: Audrey Roloff: Here Are 5 Shocking Facts About Me! What do you think of Audrey’s Jesus-related piece of advice here? Have you ever considered giving up the Internet for one day per week? Or does that seem like an impossible challenge?

Audrey Roloff Can Sum Up Motherhood is One Word

As documented down below, there’s a lot we don’t know about Audrey Roloff. But there’s at least one thing we know very well about the Little People, Big World star and that is this: She adores being a mother. The TLC personality has made it clear in one social media post after another that she was practically born for this role, gushing about daughter Ember Jean and about her role as a parent . How would Audrey define that role? Such is the topic of her latest Instagram entry. “GRACE. If I had to sum up what motherhood has taught me into one word, it would be grace,” Roloff wrote to open this profound message. Audrey has been criticized of late for exploiting her daughter (and/or thoughts about her daughter) in the name of product placement and promotion, but that’s not a concern here. This post is simply dedicated to life as a mother, what she has learned and how she would sum it all up. “I can be pretty hard on myself, and motherhood is teaching me to give myself grace in the moments when I feel unequipped, ill prepared, or like I don’t measure up,” Audrey explains. “On the days when I discover I haven’t been doing something that everyone else seems to be doing, grace.  “When my ideals don’t fit to reality, grace. “When I’m overwhelmed by all the conflicting research on all the hot button issues, grace. “When I start to compare myself to the other mama warriors out there, grace. When I get criticized and accused, grace.” The star continues with the same theme, really hammering it home because it means so much to her. When I realize I’m not the kind, patient, and loving wife intend to be, grace. When I get down on myself for working too much or not enough, grace.  When I haven’t checked anything off my to-do list, grace. When I’ve worn the same outfit 7 days in a row, grace. Audrey and Jeremy Roloff welcomed Ember into the world back in September. Both were pretty candid at first about the challenges they faced, Audrey in particular when it came to pain while breastfeeding. However, they relied on each other, on their strong faith and here they are now… proud and excited parents of THIS precious five-month old ! So, where were you, Audrey? “I am choosing to release my harsh and sometimes worldly standards and learning to embrace His grace in my weakness,” she writes.”His power is perfected in my weakness.” Referencing God and the bible again, Roloff concludes as follows: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9. In response to her in-depth analysis, Audrey received praise and support from many of her followers. Love this post so much. It encourages me and reminds me of how I should be. Thank you! wrote debrakgottschalk. Added willspartner71: Your thoughts and words flow so beautifully and inspire me. Thank you for sharing the wisdom that God has gifted you with. You are amazing. And here’s ktpapercrafty: What wisdom and strength you have gained as a new mom! Impressive indeed. (It took me a whole lot longer to get to this point as a mom!)
