Kim Kardashian Fans Sad But ‘Not Surprised’ By Divorce

‘Hoping they both can find love again in this crazy world,’ one MTV reader says of Kim and Kris Humphries. By James Dinh Kim Kardashian Photo: Kevork Djansezian/ Getty Images Fans are used to “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” on a weekly basis, so it’s only natural that they’re sharing their two cents on Kim Kardashian’s divorce from basketball player Kris Humphries on Monday (October 31). Team Kardashian has flooded the comments section of MTV.com, as well as our Facebook and Twitter pages, to dish their thoughts on the 72-day marriage. And with Kim filing for divorce (citing “irreconcilable differences”) so soon after their August nuptials, many have been quick to pass judgment on the pair. However, some fans, like MTV.com user Baby_Girl_2004, have remained hopeful that the Hollywood socialite will one day find her happily ever after. “I’m not one bit surprised about this. I knew it wasn’t going to last at all,” the reader wrote. “Don’t get me wrong she is a beautiful women but they didn’t have that spunk like Khlo

Sources told the site that Kim is not seeking an annulment and cites “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for the split. The couple reportedly have a prenuptial agreement and celebrity lawyer Laura Wasser has been tapped to represent Kardashian. According to TMZ, the pair’s $10 million wedding cost approximately $138,888 a day as of October 31. A rep for Kim had not responded to MTV News’ request for comment as of press time. I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few min.” The news comes as several tabloids have been reporting on Kim and Kris’ marital woes. Kardashian and NBA player Humphries married on August 20 in California in a lavish ceremony in front of friends, family and E! cameras. “The dresses were so gorgeous, and watching those beautiful girls walk down the aisle … they are absolutely stunning,” guest Julianne Hough gushed to MTV News after the ceremony. “To just see them walking down the aisle was just beautiful. And then little Mason, Kourtney’s little boy, he kind of stole the show.” The first few months of Kris and Kim’s marriage will be documented on the second season of “Kourtney & Kim Take New York,” which kicks off on November 27. In previews for the show, fans have gotten a peek at the short-lived marriage. “How am I going to have my career and live in Minnesota?” Kim asks Kris when he suggests they move to his hometown. Tony Todd On Final Destination, Candyman And Blacks In Horror

Read the original here:

(Originally published August 17, 2011) Tony Todd , the star of Final Destination 5, is on his way to visit his hometown of Washington D.C. on a sunny August morning, and hasn’t a care in the world.  While audiences know Todd for his role in the 1992 cult classic Candyman , he is a classically trained thespian whose roots started in theater.  Born into poverty to a single mother in 1954, Todd first fell into acting as a teenager since–as he puts it– “I wasn’t any good at basketball.” After 22 years in the game, and over 150 acting credits under his belt, Todd has carved out an impressive and enviable career—not bad for a geeky 6’5 teenager from Chocolate City. The Urban Daily chatted with Todd about his return as William Bludworth in the newest Final Destination movie,  his iconic role in Candyman , and the current state of the horror film genre. TUD: Tell us about the plot of Final Destination 5. Tony Todd: We have a new cast of young people with tragic demises and I have more than one scene. I like doing more than one scene, I like continuity (laughs) . There are a few theories going around as to who your character, Bludworth really is—one theory is that he’s death incarnate. What do you say to that? I think that’s too much of an easy choice, I mean how can you be death incarnate when you’re only in the movie for five minutes? Actually someone came up to me and said maybe Bludworth had cheated death himself.  I’ve never personally accepted he was the angel of death, or the emissary of death. Just a very unpopular guy. Why do you think the Final Destination franchise has remained so popular? Because it’s the perfect date movie.  Everybody loves a horror story because it’s a roller coaster ride –you wait for  the slow ride to the top then speed down with all the bumps, twists and turns.  If you’re a smart person, you bring your date and for every bump that goes on, you squeeze a little closer.  I think Final Destination is singularly responsible for more births in America in the last 10 years than any other movie. You might be on to something there. I know I’ve done the research.  I interview people when they leave the theatre, and when they see me they’re like “Oh my God!” That really freaks them out! Final Destination movies are known for their graphic death scenes.  Which ones are the most memorable to you? Well I’m a big fan of the first movie, because that was the template.  Jeffrey Reddick, the creator of  this franchise, is a genius.  In Final Destination 5 , the bridge collapse sequence is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Audiences still remember you from the Candyman movies. Do people still stop you in the street about that role? Candyman is almost 20 years old and not a single day goes by when someone doesn’t stop me in the street.  It was a great role and one of the greatest experiences in my life. Have your kids seen Candyman ? They didn’t watch it until they were well into their teens.  True story—When Candyman first came out, my daughter and I were Christmas shopping, and people were harassing us.  Finally my daughter puts down her shopping bag and said “That’s not Candyman! That’s my dad!” I will never forget that, because that’s when we really bonded. Let’s talk a little about your background.  When you were growing up, which actors or actresses did you look up to or admire? When I was a kid I really loved Humphrey Bogart.  But when I was in theater school, Robert DeNiro was my go-to guy.  I like good actors like Marlon Brando and Gene Hackman.  I grew up a poor kid to a single mom, so as an African-American actor I have a responsibility to hold the mirror up and reflect our stories.  I’m living the dream and also escaped the inevitable. Your first lead role in a movie was in the remake of   Night of The Living Dead . Your character in that movie has historical significance, as the original was the first horror movie to cast an African-American (Duane Jones) in the lead role.  What are you memories about being cast in that project? I actually saw the original while I was studying to be an actor, and watching Duane Jones I thought “Good, there’s hope.”  When I heard they were casting for the remake I ran to the casting office and told them they had to let me audition.  I think they already had someone in mind, but the casting director took a chance on me and gave me the job. It was my first leading role and my son was born around that same time. It was a chance to play a hero, so I was very appreciative. We shot the movie in Washington, Pennsylvania, singularly the most racist place in America.  The beautiful thing is all these people were lining up to play zombies, and if I wasn’t an actor, they wouldn’t have anything to do with me. You also do a lot of voice-over work as well. How did you fall into that? When I was younger, I wanted to do Disney movies but I could never get a role.  When I finally got a part in Transformers 2 I called my daughter and told her “Honey, I’m gonna be a Transformer!”  and she said “Grow up Dad!” But it paid her tuition, so there you go! What are your thoughts on the current state of the horror genre, and should actors of color be more open-minded to doing these types of movies? Television is dying because of the influx of reality shows, so I think smart horror movies like “Final Destination”  area great thing because it makes people think.  I’m not a fan of torture for torture’s sake.  That’s why you’ll never see me in Saw.  I think young African-American filmmakers and actors need to hold their heads up and know if a project is meant for them, they’ll get it. Kreayshawn Addresses Gangsta Boo’s ‘RapFix’ Jabs

White Girl Mob MC tells us the femcees ‘worked everything out,’ adding that Boo ‘inspired me to rap.’ By Jocelyn Vena Kreayshawn Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage On Wednesday, Tennessee rapper Gangsta Boo stopped by “RapFix Live” and addressed the current state of the female MC, noting that she hoped everyone could learn to work together. But she had less than kind words for one MC in particular, Kreayshawn . During the conversation, Gangsta Boo likened the “Gucci Gucci” rapper to a “wigger” and told “RFL” host Sway that the up-and-comer reminds her of a character from the 1997 Halle Berry comedy “B.A.P.S.” Although she gave respect to Kreayshawn, the Three 6 Mafiia co-founder said she was concerned about Kreay’s “ghetto” image. Shortly after Boo’s appearance on the live stream, Kreayshawn took to Twitter , sending out a few mysterious tweets that many fans took as a dig at the rapper. “Hahahah lonely hungry bitch don’t deserve a mention. my local news caster got more followers then on you. Go play with ya kids hoe!” She followed that up with another tweet : “Hope them shirts you selling at least paying your rent! Happy I can contribute.” The tweets seemed to be a reaction to Gangsta Boo , who showed off her shirt on Wednesday’s show. On Friday (October 28), Kreayshawn was back on Twitter clearing the air , with a tweet to the Memphis MC.” @GangstaBooQOM I wasn’t talkin bout you. You know how the media be. Shit you was one my fav. female rappers! You can say what you want,” she wrote. Kreay insisted those tweets weren’t directed at Gangsta Boo when MTV News spoke to her on Friday afternoon. “I was just like kind of shocked because I’m a fan of Gangsta Boo and as a female, she was one of the females in the game that inspired me to rap,” she said of the comments made about her on “RapFix Live.” When I heard it I was like, ‘What? Gangsta Boo? This sucks.’ To hear that from somebody that inspired me. [The tweets] didn’t even have anything to do with her. I already spoke to her about it,” the Bay Area MC added. “The thing I tweeted wasn’t even about her. It was on some whole other person. We ended up talking to each other. … We worked everything out. There ain’t no problems.” Gangsta Boo also let her fans know any beef has been settled. “PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE STOP ALL THIS KREAYSHWAN AND BOO S— GOOD GOD HOW BOUT THEM BRAVES???? ITS NO BEEF FOR CHRIST SAKES. Just got off the phone w/ @KREAYSHAWN & I DID snap a lil bit in interviews but she took it like a G & she Luvs BAPS & she is not a ‘wiggy,’ ” she tweeted . “New respect 4 her because she did not take it to heart & she got at me letting me know she was not talking abt me so HEY MEDIA 🙂 BYE MEDIA,” Lady Boo added. Now that the two performers have smoothed things over, Kreayshawn said she totally respects Boo’s opinion. “From the outside looking in, everyone has the option to their own opinion,” she said. “That’s why I wasn’t mad at her. I was just like, ‘Oh, this sucks.’ She can have her opinion, but we talked about it and it’s all good.” What did you think of Gangsta Boo’s comments about Kreayshawn? Tell us in the comments. Nickelback Party Hard, Get Deep On Here And Now

Band’s November 21 album kicks off with two wildly different singles, ‘When We Stand Together’ and ‘Bottoms Up.’ By James Montgomery Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger Photo: MTV News Late last month, ahead of the release of their (sure to be colossal no matter what you think ) Here and Now album, Nickelback premiered a pair of singles — the pro-social “When We Stand Together” and the pro-party “Bottoms Up” — which seem to have only one thing in common: Nickelback wrote both of them. After all, one’s a positively massive power ballad with lyrics like “Hand in hand forever/ That’s when we all win,” and the other is, well, basically about drinking every substance under the sun, a list that includes, but is not limited to: Jim Beam, Jack Daniel’s, Black-Tooth Grins — Dimebag certainly would’ve approved — and, of course, “straight gasoline.” You can probably guess which is which. But if you think “Stand Together” and “Bottoms Up” represent a Nickelback veering in two wildly dissimilar directions, well, just wait until you hear the rest of Here and Now, as the band told MTV News earlier this week. “I mean, it’s not Dark Side of the Moon or The Wall or something; it doesn’t have this theme. It’s more all over the map than those two [songs], for sure,” frontman Chad Kroeger explained. “Because, when you play a Nickelback show, I mean, there is every range of person that you could possibly imagine on the face of the earth [in the audience], and you couldn’t peg one on the street to save your life. I think we can all pick out a Slipknot fan, but it’s tough to pick out a Nickelback fan, because they’re all so different.” And that was the challenge presented to the band on Now, which contains a whole lot of party-ready chuggers, plus a couple more, uh, conscious tunes, too. But though you’d think penning songs about global suffering would be tough for Kroeger and Co., well, you’d be wrong. Because, quite frankly, it’s writing the hard-charging, harder-drinking numbers that keeps the band up at night. After all, partying is something they take pretty seriously over at Nickelback H.Q. “It’s a drinking anthem. I mean, it’s harder to write those songs than it is to write those social-awareness type songs, it really is,” Kroeger admitted. “Because for us, they’ve got to be good. Some of the stuff’s got to be a little tongue-in-cheek, there’s got to be some clever stuff there, you know, and you’ve got to be descriptive. But when you get done listening to it, you need to have the feeling of just wanting to grab a bottle of Jack. And I think we got there, because we’d bring friends over all the time and it was just like, ‘You are now a test subject! Hit play; turn it up nice and loud.’ And the song’s over and they’d be like, ‘I want to drink. I want to drink something right now. ‘ And we were like ‘Yes!’ ” Are you a Nickelback fan? Report: Scott Disick Purchases Engagement Ring!

As one Kardashian marriage reportedly falls apart , might another be on the way? Insiders tell Life & Style that Scott Disick took a friend to Classics Jewelry in New York City’s Diamond District last month and purchased “a 1.5-carat princess-cut-diamond ring,” presumably for bride-to-be Kourtney Kardashian. We’ve all been here before, of course. On the season finale of Kourtney & Kim Take New York , Scott planned to propose but refrained after Kourtney shot down the idea by asking: “If things are so good now… why would we want to change that?” But the relationship is better than ever, a pal says , making this the ideal time to pop the question. “Right now, they’re so in love and so happy with each other and their family that there’s no reason for them not to get married. Kourtney has also really come around to the idea of marriage.” And, hey, season two of Kourtney & Kim Take New York needs a finale! [Photo: WENN.com]
