Damn… KG couldn’t get no love and JD got to hit that? Janet Jackson is making her way to Minneapolis Friday as part of her “No. Ones: Up Close and Personal Tour” (her first tour since Michael’s death) and the singer spoke candidly with their local Star Tribune about a plethora of interesting topics, including how former Minnesota Timberwolves player Kevin Garnett tried to get a piece and her thoughts on Nicki Minaj’s recent “wardrobe malfunction.” Check out the excerpts below: Janet Jackson knows her way around the Twin Cities, since she recorded most of her hits here with producer/songwriters Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. However, she hasn’t been here lately; Jam and Lewis moved to Los Angeles several years ago and she hasn’t worked with them since her “20 Y.O.” album in 2006. Jackson, 45, agreed to answer some questions via email. Her answers were short and sweet, punctuated with emoticons. She didn’t give direct or in-depth responses about such controversies as her lip-syncing in concert and her infamous 2004 Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction but she did address them. Q: What will it be like to perform all your hits in Minneapolis, where so many were written and recorded? A: It is going to be fun for me! I can’t wait to get back to Minneapolis and see all my fans there. Q: What’s your favorite memory of Minneapolis? A: I have so many, but being in Minneapolis to record “Control” stands out. It was the first time I was recording a CD without my family. It was a great. Q: I heard some guys stalked you by your hotel when you were recording “Control” in 1985. What’s that story? A: “Nasty” is the story for that question. That song came out of that experience. Q: What did Kevin Garnett say to you later after you brought him onstage at Target Center for the seductive “Rope Burn” in 1998? A: Kevin Garnett wanted to hook up. :0) Q: What do you like most about this tour? The least? A: I am having so much fun on this tour. It is the largest ever world tour for me. Whenever possible, I am choosing more intimate venues. I love being able to see everyone’s face in the audience. Q: What is it like to perform “Scream” without your brother Michael? A: It is amazing. It’s very therapeutic. The energy of the song is fierce but it makes me smile inside when I hear him, when I hear his voice. Q: What goes through your mind onstage on this tour vs. what went through your mind onstage during your arena tours? A: All I can think about during the show is how much fun I am having and how grateful I am to all the fans who have supported me all these years. Q: Why do you end the show with “Together Again”? A: I love what the song says… I am letting the audience know that we will be together again… hopefully soon! Q: Over the years, some people have said that Janet lip-syncs in concert. What’s the situation on this tour? Is all your singing live? A: Yes, I am singing live. WOW… 1998??? They went all the way there with it. Glad Janet got a chance to clear up the lip synchin rumors though. Keep reading for more…
Leah Messer was heartbroken when she and Corey Simms divorced. Imagine how the Teen Mom star feels about the father of her young twins trying to get in co-star Jenelle Evans’ pants? To say nothing of how stupid it is for his own physical and mental well-being, that’s just a harsh move by Corey! Insiders say he’s “hitting Leah where it hurts the most” by trying to get his freak on with Jenelle, who, to her credit, reportedly wasn’t having that. “She was shocked he would hit on her, and she immediately told Leah,” a source close to Leah reveals, but Corey wasn’t about to stop just yet. After Jenelle Evans ’ rejection, Corey tried to get with 16 and Pregnant star Nikkole Paulun. Sources say he was more successful this time around, too. “They’re hooking up,” reveals a source . While other Teen Moms are blasting Nikkole and Corey on Twitter, Leah Messer is trying to stay above it all. “Corey and I have two kids to raise,” she tweeted. “We have to get along for our children.” Even so, the source says Leah can’t help but be upset: “She was livid when she discovered that Corey took their twins to the zoo with Nikkole.” The guy also reportedly got Amber Scaggs pregnant in the brief time he and Leah have been apart, though that rumor has not been confirmed. Short story? It’s ugly for Leah.
It’s one thing to experience it, but then to watch it again on television and know that millions of other people are watching, it’s going to be tough. So said Taylor Armstrong last week about The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, a quote that referred to the focus of season two on her crumbling marriage to Russell Armstrong. Now, following his sudden, tragic death , Bravo is left to wonder: Should the show go on? The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 2 Trailer The season premiere is scheduled for September 5, but Andy Cohen – Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Development and host of Watch What Happens Live – admits he isn’t sure what the network will do: “We’re all still trying to process [the] very sad news, and looking at how to proceed with the series, which has finished primary production… we’ll let you know what we decide when we do. In the meantime, we’re sending our thoughts and prayers to Taylor and the rest of Russell’s family.” Might Bravo actually axe the season? We doubt it. Edit out inappropriate scenes? Air everything as filmed? What SHOULD it do? You tell us:
By popular demand I decided to flip the script, wake the fellas up, and advocate on behalf of all my HB ladies to present to you 5 common mistakes men sexually that turn women off. If you are reading my column for the first time, welcome, and get caught up: 5 Common Mistakes Women Make Verbally That Scare Men Off One of the most difficult conversations to have with our partners are sex-related. As a community we are over sexed and under satisfied meaning that we indulge in sex without really ever coming out on an equal playing field. I believe that if more communication and dialogue between the sexes occurred then we would be better equipped to please each other on all levels, not just sexually. Here is a list of 5 common mistakes men make sexually that turn women off: Talking Up Your sex game, before the first quarter : Best believe this is the cause for many cringed faces, side eyes and missed calls. Yes, today’s woman is more sexually adept and aware than previous generations but like men, we revel in mystery. Don’t let the cat out the hat too soon, because if a man ends up having more bark than bite, it will result in many lonely nights. Are we there yet: This may be more of a personal pet peeve but the more I share it, I find that more and more women can relate. Don’t ask us repeatedly if we have had an orgasm. We love that you are but some of us take a lot longer than others to achieve an earth shattering orgasm. Since orgasms require mental stimulation for the best results, interrupting my sexy thoughts with incessant whining does not help, instead encourage the action you want to see, “I would love to see you cum”. Penis Pictures: In a committed and consensual relationship I suppose anything goes, but in the initial dating stages a penis pic to a woman’s (not girl’s) phone/email is the cause for dismissal. In fact fellas regardless of how much of a masterpiece you think you have, it’s insulting and demeaning. Women are interested in getting to know the man; any interaction with his “wingman” will come in time. Pain is pleasure: Yes this is a popular saying but not all “pain” translates to pleasure. Perhaps this comes with age, but on behalf of the sisterhood, trade in 60 minutes of jack hammer mayhem for a variation of strokes. Always ask your partner if they are comfortable, we perform our best when our muscles are relaxed and stimulated, not when we are holding on for dear life wanting to curl into fetal position. Neglecting the magic of Foreplay: It’s natural to get comfortable sexually overtime in a relationship, but I guarantee you couples who are happiest in the bedroom know what works and improves on it time after time. If you remember driving your woman wild one night you were creative with the foreplay don’t just dust that off for special occasions, rely on your imagination. Remember the imagination you were told you had to supress when you were becoming a man, that one. Foreplay is that special touch that makes your stroke game unique, don’t neglect it. The key to successful seduction and sexual satisfaction is being confident and knowledgeable about the partner you are with. Ask questions after every roll in the hay and at the same time be prepared to hear an answer that you may not agree with. With sex everyone is a teacher and student collectively. What are your thoughts on this list? Are there things I’m leaving out? What is the hardest sex-related conversation you had to have with your partner? MTV News gathers a group of tastemakers to break down the clip, which features a mutilated Maybach, fireworks and a huge American flag. By Rob Markman Jay-Z and Kanye West (file) Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage Who knew destroying a Maybach could be so fun? In Jay-Z and Kanye West ‘s new Spike Jonze-directed video for “Otis,” the Throne give the luxury vehicle the chop-shop treatment and then do doughnuts with reckless abandon. “Have you ever seen Jay-Z look that young or that happy?” Jeff Rosenthal from the sketch-comedy group It’s the Real said when MTV News gathered a group of tastemakers to preview the “Otis” video, which premiered Thursday on MTV. “I like that it definitely has that Spike Jonze look. I like that they totally make a Batmobile out of a Maybach,” his brother and comedy partner Eric added. “They do have a lot of fun, which is awesome.” Read what some hip-hop DJs had to say about “Otis” as an unconventional single. Superstar duo will sell copies of their brand-new album from shop in New York’s SoHo neighborhood. By Rob Markman The Watch The Throne pop-up store in New York City Photo: Rob Markman/MTV News NEW YORK — Watch the ingenuity. In what has already been an unorthodox album roll-out, Jay-Z and Kanye West are keeping the surprises coming during the record release for their tag-team LP, Watch the Throne . On Friday afternoon (August 12), the duo erected a pop-up store to sell copies of the album in Manhattan’s trendy SoHo neighborhood, and MTV News was among the first inside. When the album dropped on Monday as an iTunes digital exclusive , it seemed that Friday’s physical release of the LP would be nothing more than an afterthought. Not so! The store-front, located at 201 Mulberry Street, is regally wrapped in gold, just like the album’s Riccardo Tisci-designed cover art, the real attraction however is inside. As if slinging albums weren’t enough, Hov and Yeezy are putting the tricked-out Maybach from their “Otis” video on display inside of the retail space. Read what some hip-hop DJs had to say about “Otis” as an unconventional single. The black luxury vehicle sits there in all its remixed glory: hood on the trunk, trunk on hood, doors ripped off. Unfortunately, there is a strict no photo/no video policy in the store, but visitors are allowed to walk right up to the ‘Bach-mobile and can even touch it. On a large overhead screen, the Spike Jonze-directed “Otis” plays on a loop. There are even rumors that Hov himself will make an appearance sometime tonight and the store will be up until Sunday. For fans stopping by the Mulberry Street store, it will be open on Friday until 10 p.m. ET, on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jay, who doesn’t take to his Twitter often, posted the SoHo address this afternoon. So much of the Watch the Throne release has been shrouded in mystery. Other than “H.A.M.,” which was released in January and the LP’s first official single “Otis,” fans had heard nothing from Hov and Yeezy’s project until it was released Monday morning. Who knows what they will come up with next. What did you think of the “Otis” video? Share your thoughts on Facebook or tweet your reactions and videos @MTVNews with the hashtag #MTVOtis!
