Guess Ricky Gervais was not ” totally unacceptable ” as 2011 Golden Globes host after all. Following a controversial stint MCing the ceremony in January – relive his best jokes HERE – the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has confirmed that the creator of The Office will return to the stage in a couple months. “I mustn’t come out there as everyone’s mate and schmooze. That’s nauseating,” Gervais said following this year’s gig. “I’m sorry if [people] were offended but I’m not sorry for anything I said. They hired me for a job and if they didn’t want me, they shouldn’t have hired me.” The 2012 Golden Globes will air on NBC on January 15. Are you excited for Gervais to host again?

Mariah Yeater dropped her lawsuit against Justin Bieber, but if she thinks she’s out of the woods after dismissing her paternity claim, girl can keep dreaming. Quietly, Yeater dismissed the suit last Thursday, after Justin and his team made it clear they would sue Mariah and her lawyers for their “malicious claims.” Guess what? They still are, because even though Mariah Yeater no longer hopes to extort money from the Bieb, she still made the claim in the first place. Justin is not backing down, according to the star’s publicist, Matthew Hiltzik, who says Yeater and her lawyers, who have since quit, will be hearing about this. “We intend to still hold them accountable,” he said. After Yeater claimed Bieber fathered her baby after 30 seconds of aggressive bathroom sex last year, Justin wanted to go after her and set an example that people who file baseless claims against celebrities do so at their own peril. She gave interviews to Star Magazine and The Insider , and possibly others, about the whole thing, too, meaning she basically lied about Bieber and got paid. You can bet she’ll be asked to pay damages REAL fast.

The Casey Anthony trial still has people fired up, and the people who factored into the accused killer’s acquittal are now feeling the public’s wrath. Someone is threatening to kill the 25-year-old, her attorneys, and the jurors who found Anthony not guilty of murdering her daughter this week. According to Casey’s attorney Cheney Mason, his team has received ” all kinds of threats ” at his office since the controversial verdict came in. Specifics are scarce, but the threats have been plentiful, including one credible enough that “we just turned it over to law enforcement.” There are reports Casey’s parents, George and Cindy Anthony (both of whom were key witnesses at Casey’s trial) are also being targeted. George and Cindy are said to have gone into hiding since the jury’s ruling cleared Casey, though this has not been independently confirmed. For his part, Mason doesn’t seem worried, at least for now. He laughed off the threats, claiming the people behind them are “cowards.” Did the jury get it right?
