Barraza/WENN.com / WENN As fans are still scrambling to make sense of the tragic loss of Nipsey Hussle , a memorial service has been announced for the beloved West Coast rapper and businessman. In Los Angeles next week, the Staples Center will host the going home service for Hussle, a fitting honor for an artist of his caliber. TMZ reports : Sources with direct knowledge tell us, the service will take place Thursday morning at the 21,000 seat venue. We’re told tickets will be sold for the event through a website. Only ticket holders will gain admission. Our sources say there was a meeting Wednesday with Nipsey’s family and honchos from Staples. LAPD officials were also present in the meeting to help plan logistics and security for the event. It’s a massive undertaking to plan such a major event in less than a week. Staging equipment must be rented, and the rental companies have already been contacted. We’ve learned ushers who work Staples have already been asked to reserve the day. Source: Splash News / Splash News On Tuesday, director Todd Phillips previewed footage for his upcoming Joker movie at CinemaCon, the national convention of theater owners. The following day, the teaser trailer was released to the masses and of course, major commentary ensued. Joaquin Phoenix will take on the role of the Joker after a slew of notable roles in flicks like The Sisters Brothers, Her , and The Master , which earned him an Academy Award nomination. In the trailer for Joker , Phoenix seems destined to show off his acting chops with an eerie tale of a man pushed to the edge by society. Peep the clip for yourself below. The trailer immediately received praise from certain folks, with many excited about the film’s psychological elements and acting. I’m so excited to see this movie! Joaquin Phoenix looks amazing! #Joker #DCUNIVERSE #DC #JoaquinPhoenix pic.twitter.com/Pesl2KkCXh — Caleb Ramos (@Darth_Ramos) April 3, 2019 Creating the Joker in 1989: Just throw him in chemical waste. Some veered on the hilarious side while others seemed to get quite heated. First off, there was some actor spotting throughout the trailer that definitely got people excited. Atlanta stars Brian Tyree Henry and Zazie Beetz especially made waves for a lot of folks… Wait. Did we know Brian Tyree Henry was gonna be in this!? #JokerMovie pic.twitter.com/qrgs2JEyZS — William Goodman (@goodmanw) April 3, 2019 The most important thing about the JOKER trailer to me: Brian Tyree Henry is in this movie. No one told me this. — Pinky Tuscadero (@jumpedforjoi) April 3, 2019 getting word on brian tyree henry and zazie beetz so looks like i just bought JOKER tickets — aliya jones (@ALlYAJONESS) April 3, 2019 Robert De Niro also makes a cameo in the trailer as an entertainment host, which caused people to recall his celebrated 1982 role in King of Comedy, directed by Martin Scorsese . It’s possible the deranged elements of the black comedy could make its way into the Joker film. Fans also couldn’t help but compare the Joker trailer to another Scorsese movie….1976’s Taxi Driver. In this psychological thriller, De Niro plays a taxi driver with insomnia who plots the assassination of a presidential candidate and the rescue of an underaged sex slave from her pimp. In the flick, De Niro’s character, Travis Bickle, keeps a diary similar to the one Phoenix keeps in the Joker trailer. Twitter users immediately started making the comparisons… THE JOKER X TAXI DRIVER PART 2 pic.twitter.com/FMlycAV3P3 — Jamie Righetti (@JamieRighetti) April 3, 2019 Right: Taxi Driver Left: #Joker Joaquin Phoenix going full Travis Bickle. https://t.co/cLIHJ0klWB pic.twitter.com/AZsKw1p0Nn — Zack Sharf (@ZSharf) April 3, 2019 With the psychological elements of the Joker trailer, it was difficult not to politicize the movie either. Debates were already brewing about what it means to have a mentally disturbed White man go violent. JOKER, a film where you're supposed to sympathize with a mediocre white man radicalized into deranged violence, will no doubt be appealing to the wrong audience for the worst reasons. — Alan Zilberman (@alanzilberman) April 3, 2019 Like Jorden Peele said, “I've seen that movie.” Joker has nothing to offer but more cultural fodder to empathize with evil white dudes. With Trump as president and so many white male terrorists being profiled as “good kids” gone bad. I am DONE with this shit. — Octavia Butler Predicted This MAGA Dystopia (@MsGo) April 3, 2019 No thanks, the Joker movie. If I want to hear about a white guy who starts murdering people because he got picked on, I’ll just watch the news. — The Volatile Mermaid (@OhNoSheTwitnt) April 3, 2019 Then finally, much of the talk wasn’t so much about who was in the movie, but who was missing. And it seems folks still can’t let go of the late great Heath Ledger, who played the Joker in 2008’s The Dark Knight . I’m sorry but Heath Ledger will always be The Joker to me. pic.twitter.com/OdUklgH2d6 — Coti Howell (@CotiHowell) April 3, 2019 Heath Ledger’s Joker was so good the character should be retired — Nate Hill (@NateHillTV) April 3, 2019 If it aint Heath Ledger I dont want it. https://t.co/J98SNr8rBf — T (@ThackerTy) April 3, 2019 Things got pretty heated… heath ledger and joaquin phoenix trying to outact each other as joker pic.twitter.com/Egl06eCwMo — raven (@cilliansjawline) April 3, 2019 Some people even brought Jared Leto ‘s Joker from Suicide Squad into the fight. I suspect this is how the definitive Joker list will shape up: GREAT JOKERS: Joaquin Phoenix, Heath Ledger, Mark Hamill GOOD JOKERS: Jack Nicholson, Cesar Romero SHITTY JOKER: Jared Leto — Nick Kolakowski (@nkolakowski) April 3, 2019 Jared Leto’s Joker > > > > > > > > Heath Ledger’s crappy Joker —

The official lineup for the two-day festival was announced this morning and per usual, it boasts a little somethin’, somethin’ for everybody. In addition to Kulture’s mom, Meg Thee Stallion will also be performing, as well as Juice WRLD, Jorja Smith, and yes, Bustdown papi Blueface. If we’re being totally honest, we’re weirded out to see Kodak Black on the roster ( after he so blatantly harassed Young M.A. last month , not to mention the fact that he is awaiting trial after being indicted on criminal sexual conduct due to an alleged victim’s rape accusations). Do we not want to see Kodak get the help he needs before giving him full access to thousands of young women at a two-day fest? But we digress. Besides giving many of your faves the opportunity to show up, show out, and expand their fanbase, Made In America is also about charity work. “While MIA is known for its star-studded line-up and dazzling performances, Roc Nation has always made it a priority to give back to the community during that weekend. This year, Roc Nation once again tapped the ACLU of Pennsylvania as its official charity partner. Also, the Meek Mill and Jay-Z-led REFORM Alliance will see a portion of the proceeds as well,” Billboard states. TIDAL and American Express Cardmembers can purchase tickets today. For the general public, tickets go on sale Friday at ticketmaster.com. Will you be heading to Philly in August? Let us know. Source: WENN.com / WENN Travis Scott Is Bringing in BIG Money On His ASTROWORLD Tour Travis Scott is giving his wifey Kylie Jenner a run for her money. Billboard just revealed that the ASTROWORLD rapper grossed a whopping $34.3 million during only the first three months of his Wish You Were Here Tour . These numbers are the reason that Scott landed at Number 2 on the Hot Tours recap for March 9, the “Sicko Mode” rapper’s third successive week in the top 5, according to Billboard . The magazine also shared that Scott has added $10.6 million to his tour total. Since kicking the off his tour last November in Baltimore, Maryland, the rapper has grossed $34.3 million and sold 485,659 tickets during the first 32 dates of his excursion. These number become even more impressive considering the fact that this tour marks Scott’s first headlining tour in arenas, following his position as opening act for the Weeknd in 2015, Rihanna in 2016, and most recently, Kendrick Lamar in 2017. Scott’s $34.4 million gross is higher than a number of 2017 and 2018 tours, which includes J. Cole’s $25.2 million, Future’s $19.9 million, and Chance the Rapper’s $17 million. But there’s more where that came from–21 shows still remain on La Flame’s tour before it ends in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 26, which gives him more than enough time to rake up considerably more cash. Sure, it’s nowhere near a billion dollars, but it’s safe to say Stormi’s college fund is looking pretty healthy from both of her parents’ contributions.
This is the woman who bailed @rkelly out of jail. She owns @LoveOnTheBlu in Blue Island and Lord and Child Daycare in Chicago. Her name is Valencia Love. SHUT HER DOWN. pic.twitter.com/4ZobPfYpDk — kiki bryant (@uppitykiki) February 26, 2019 R. Kelly’s Bail-Posting “Friend” Is Really Just A “Fan” R. Kelly ‘s arrest and subsequent release have made for one of the ugliest and most bizarre plot twists in his already disgusting cannon of strange and stomach-turning stories. Yesterday we reported that a friend of R. Kelly, a woman named Valencia P. Love, posted the $100,000 bail that the singer desperately needed to get out of jail after being charged with 10 counts of sexual abuse. Today, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that a friend of Kelly’s has revealed more details about this dimly-lit broad. According to Robert’s friend Don Russell, Valencia is an R. Kelly Stan fan who only met the singer FIVE MONTHS AGO on a cruise! Love was a fan of Kelly’s music when she met the 52-year-old singer on a cold fall night aboard a Spirit of Chicago cruise on Lake Michigan in September, Russell said. Over the weekend, she called members of Kelly’s inner-circle and told them she wanted to help when she saw he wasn’t able to make bail. “She wanted Rob to have a chance at justice, and she thought he’d have a better chance outside of jail than inside,” Russell said. Apparently, this chick is so thirsty to be close to Robert that after he was released from jail, she held a toast to their friendship. Love called the paper to dispute some of Russell’s claims, but she did admit to paying the bail despite the fact that is prone to be a brokie her damn self. She filed for bankruptcy in 2015, saying she couldn’t pay $2,700 in parking tickets. She told the court she was a teacher at a South Side daycare where she’d worked for seven years. But in 2017, she and her former husband came into a windfall. Each got about $1.1 million in a legal settlement from a wrongful-death lawsuit they filed against the former Children’s Medical Hospital in Chicago, court records show. Their daughter had died in 2010 during a heart procedure at the hospital, according to the records. This. Woman. Likely. Used. Her. Daughter’s. Wrongful. Death. Money. To. Bail. Out. A. Pedophile. WTF IS GOING ON?!?! Outside the lounge, Russell said Kelly told him last year that he had “zero dollars in the bank” because he “trusted the wrong people” who took advantage of him. Since then, Russell claimed, “Money is coming to him, but not as much as he would like.” Good. Go to prison with ya broke a$$. SMFH.
