Lori Loughlin: Please Don’t Send Me to Jail Like Felicity Huffman!

On Friday, one chapter of the college admissions bribery scandal came to a close. In a Boston courtroom, actress Felicity Huffman was sentenced to 14 days in prison for paying an admissions consultant $15,000 to have a proctor correct her daughter’s answers on the SAT.  Dozens of affluent parents were ensnared in the FBI’s “Varsity Blues” sting operation, and along with fellow actress Lori Loughlin, Huffman came to embody the unchecked entitlement that led to such rampant cheating on behalf of already-privileged young people. When word of Huffman’s sentencing got out, thoughts turned to Loughlin and what the news might mean for her. Unlike Huffman, Loughlin rejected a plea deal  and plans to fight the charges against her in court. At first, there were reports that the sentencing might actually be good news for Loughlin, as it amounted to a defeat for prosecutors — a defeat that might lead them to offer a second plea deal. Now, however, an insider tells Fox News that even if a second deal is offered, it will certainly involve jail time for the actress. “If she’s found guilty, she will go to jail; that is clear. And if another deal is offered to her, which I don’t think it will be, she will go to jail,” the source said. “Her only chance of avoiding jail is to beat these charges. Lori is a smart woman; she understands that,” the insider continued. “She’s scared and upset, but she’s resolved to be strong and to fight this. She will do what she has to do to protect herself and her family.” Considering the charges against Loughlin are far more serious (she allegedly doled out $500,000 in bribes to Huffman’s $15,00) it seems almost certain that she’ll be going from Full House to the big house. She stands accused of bribing admissions officials so that both of her daughters would be accepted to USC as members of the crew team — even though neither of them had ever rowed before. Loughlin is still holding out hope that she’ll beat the charges — but that seems increasingly unlikely in the wake of Huffman’s sentencing. She and her husband — fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli — are playing the ignorance card and claiming they didn’t know they were doing anything wrong. But legal experts say that didn’t work for Huffman, and it won’t work Loughlin. “The government doesn’t have to prove that Loughlin and Giannulli knew what the payments were used for,” said attorney Neama Rahmani. ” The fraudulent application to USC is enough to support the conspiracy charges. And there is more than enough circumstantial evidence to prove that they knew the payments were for an illicit or unlawful purpose.” The source says Loughlin regrets not accepting the original deal from prosecutors, but he claims her reason for doing so is that she did not fully understand the charges against her. “She didn’t understand the entire nature of the charges against her, and she wasn’t even sure if or how she had broken the law. It was very early, and she didn’t have all the information that she has now,” the source said. “Based on what she understood at the time, she made the best choice for herself. Now there is no deal on the table, and she has to have faith that the courts and the prosecution will move fairly and not make an example out of her.” Of course, the reality of Lori’s situation has come into stark clarity in the days since Huffman’s sentencing. Despite her bleak prospects, however, it seems Loughlin still has not come to grips with the fact that she’ll likely be doing time. “This has been a rough day,” the source says. “Lori is going to move forward as best as she can, but now she has a little more clarity about what will happen next.”

Catelynn Lowell Speaks Out on Amber Portwood Abuse Allegations: Violence Is Never Okay

Back in July, Amber Portwood was arrested on domestic violence charges after allegedly assaulting boyfriend Andrew Glennon. At the time, several of Portwood's Teen Mom OG castmates stood by her side, including Catelynn Lowell, who tweeted that fans should wait until they have all the facts and refrain from rushing to judgment. Of course, Lowell's comments were made prior to the release of shocking new audio recordings in which Portwood can be heard threatening to stab Glennon . Now, Catelynn is speaking out again — but instead of defending Amber, she's defending victims everywhere. Take a look: 1. The Best of Friends Few people can relate to the unique struggles Amber and Catelynn have faced over the course of the past decade, so it should come as no surprise that the reality stars developed a close friendship. 2. When Loyalty Creates Problems In that way, it makes sense that — along with the rest of the Moms — Catelynn’s first instinct was to defend and support her longtime friend. 3. Course Correction However, that doesn’t make it right — a fact that Lowell now seems to realize. 4. Shocking Evidence Yes, it’s important to be loyal to your friends, but it’s more important to be loyal to your own code of ethics, and it seems that the newly-leaked audio recordings of Amber and Andrew’s arguments served as a wake-up call for Catelynn. 5. Trigger Warning In a pair of recordings first obtained by Katie Joy of Without a Crystal Ball, Amber physically attacks Andrew, threatens him with further bodily harm, and fantasizes about him getting gang-raped. 6. Horrifying It’s not hard to see why Catelynn and many others who may have been inclined to side with Amber underwent an abrupt change of heart after listening to the audio. View Slideshow

‘Leaving Neverland’ Directer Rips Into Dave Chappelle For Sexual Assault Jokes: ‘I Felt Physically Sick’

Source: George Pimentel / Getty The documentary Leaving Neverland just snagged an Emmy award and the director for the movie had some words for Dave Chappelle in light of the win. Dan Reed called Chappelle’s jokes about Michael Jackson ‘s rape accusers “revolting” and he said they made him “physically sick,” according to The Independent . Reed’s comments came after Dave Chappelle’s Netflix comedy special Stick & Stones went hard on Jackson’s rape accusers Wade Robson and James Safechuck . Dave flat out said that he doesn’t believe the alleged victims and even referred to himself as a “victim blamer.” He said if someone told him Jackson was molesting kids, he would respond “Well, what were those kids wearing at the time?” Chappelle also said that even if Michael did commit the acts, “This kid got his di** sucked by the king of pop. All we get is awkward Thanksgivings for the rest of our lives. You know how good it must have felt to go to school the next day after that sh**?” He continued, “I know it seems harsh, but somebody’s gotta teach these kids. No such thing as a free trip to Hawaii. He’s going to want to look at your butthole or something.” Director Dan Reed responded to Chappelle’s routine after Leaving Neverland , which documents the accounts of the alleged victims, won a Creative Arts Emmy on Saturday for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special. “Chappelle is riding on a wave of being contrarian, being controversial, and this, to me, was revolting,” he said. “I felt physically sick listening to what he was saying.” He continued, “You can make comedy out of so many other things. Why not do something brave instead of crapping on some victim of child rape?” Safechuck and Robson also responded to Chappelle’s comedy special not too long after it premiered. “I’m heartbroken for all those children who look to see how they will be received when they finally find the courage to speak out about their sexual abuse,” said Safechuck. “I just want to reach out to other survivors and let them know that we can’t let this type of behavior silence us. Together we are strong.” Robson added, “He can say whatever he wants. It reveals him, not us.” Jackson was under investigation twice for accusations that he molested children. He didn’t face charges in 1994, however, he went to trial in 2005 and was acquitted of all counts. Robson’s lawyer commented after Chappelle’s comedy special, saying “Although Mr. Chappelle is entitled to his opinions, however misinformed they may be, it’s unfortunate that he has chosen to use his platform to shame sexual abuse victims, and spread his ignorance of sexual abuse and the way it is perpetrated upon children, in an attempt to resurrect his career.”

Everyone is delighted and (sadly) a little shocked that a giant corporation has decided to officially embrace someone who doesn’t fit the typical mold. But after all the meetings and memos that precede the press releases, the astonishment of the media is rarely shared by the model herself. “COVER GIRL was not a surprise for me,” said Ogilvie. “When COVERGIRL wanted to book me, my agent at the time, Michael Flutie from Company Management had the idea which he proposed to them, to put me under contract. And it really started that change within the beauty industry of signing different ethnicities to multiple year contacts, and forcing these huge companies to realize the buying power of ethnic consumers.” The moment and the subsequent media firestorm following the announcement were strong professional achievements for Ogilvie but they were still the result of someone else’s choices. “As a model, there is virtually nothing I can do to book or not book a job,” she explained. Demi Moore Reveals She Started Drinking & Suffered A Miscarriage Six Months Into Pregnancy With Ashton Kutcher

Source: David M. Benett / Getty Demi Moore Makes Some Shocking Revelations In Her Forthcoming Memoir Demi Moore reveals some seriously unexpected and personal details in her new book. In the forthcoming memoir, Inside Out , the actress opens up about losing a pregnancy during her relationship with ex Ashton Kutcher , going on to say that she blamed herself for it because she was drinking at the time. According to reports from the New York Times , Moore revealed in the book that she suffered a miscarriage six months into her pregnancy back in the early 2000s, before she and Kutcher ended up getting married. She was so far into the pregnancy, the couple had already decided on a name for the baby girl. The publication goes on to say that the actress, “started drinking again and blamed herself for the loss.” She and Kutcher tried to conceive again through fertility treatments, but her drinking only got worse. On top of that, Demi began abusing Vicodin. Luckily, Moore told the New York Times she’s now sober. But those aforementioned revelations were far from the only shocking details the actress laid out in her memoir. In the book, she also accuses her then-husband Ashton Kutcher of cheating on her before they separated in 2011. At the time, Page Six reported that Kutcher allegedly had an affair with a 22-year-old blonde on the night of his sixth wedding anniversary with Moore. Demi goes on to reveal several other explosive stories throughout the book, including revealing that she was raped at 15 and once suffered a seizure after smoking synthetic cannabis and inhaling nitrous oxide at a party with her daughter, Rumer Willis. Moore reportedly began writing her memoir two years ago after going to rehab for trauma, co-dependency and substance abuse and fixing her relationship with her daughters. Inside Out will be available on September 24.

SMH: Lil Wayne Cancels Tour Stop In St. Louis Tour After Getting Kicked Out Of His Hotel

Source: Star Tribune via Getty Images / Getty Lil Wayne Gets Kicked Out Of The Ritz-Carlton And Cancels His Concert Lil Wayne was scheduled to join Blink-182 for a concert in St. Louis on Saturday night, but the rapper announced on his Twitter page that he’ll be skipping the show instead. This joint tour with Blink-182 seems to be a troubled one for Wayne, as this isn’t the first time he’s has run into troubles and possible cancellations. This time, the rapper is telling fans that police and the Ritz-Carlton are responsible. Weezy took to social media to explain that he wouldn’t be performing on Saturday night after being kicked out of the Ritz-Carlton hotel in St. Louis. “Sorry not doing the show tonight in St Lou kuz I was just kik’d out the Ritz and 12 got involve so I gotta slide,” the rapper tweeted, breaking news to fans. “Tht y’all f w me out here. This hiccup on tour isn’t the first problem Weezy has had while touring recently. Back in July, Lil Wayne cut his set short and warned fans that it “might” be his last stop on the tour with the Blink-182. He later clarified that he would not drop out of the tour and said, “I’m having too much fun with my bros.” Later that same month, he canceled his Tampa  performance last-minute.

And The Bride Wore Black…Bridal Designs From Pantora Bridal

Link:

My husband and I decided to get married at the court house before having a bigger, more traditional and more expensive wedding in my hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. For my courthouse wedding, I purchased a beautiful dress from a local New York designer D. Auxilly in early July. She was absolutely wonderful to work with. She was prompt, professional and after I purchased the dress, she made sure it fit perfectly to my body. Honestly, 10/10 recommend. Her work is impeccable. View this post on Instagram “I got high hopes for [us], nigga.” • Look provided by Black Women Makeup: @juicylooks_mua Hair: @nappstar_nyc Dress: @dauxilly Earrings: another Black jewelry maker whose name I don’t know. Alla this stuff right here: My Mama @carol_of_the_wells A post shared by Veronica R. Wells-Puoane (@vdubshrug) on Oct 26, 2018 at 5:10pm PDT So I thought I would return to her for my big ceremony dress. But towards the end of the month, Pantora Bridal announced, via their Instagram page that they were having a sample sale. Years ago, a former coworker told me about this Black-owned bridal shop in BrookIyn before I even started dating my husband. And I stored the name in my phone and followed them on Instagram years later. And while I had been swooning over their work since  I pressed that follow button, I was hesitant about even going because I had already committed to D. Auxilly. And I assumed that most of their dresses which are ornate and unique would be out of my price range. But my sister, who is the real MVP of this story, told me that I should at least check it out. So on July 28, 2018, the date of sample sale, my sister and I made the hour + long journey from Harlem to Brooklyn. Y’all know the summer in New York is no joke and we stood outside in a short line that had formed outside of the store’s entrance. In case you didn’t pick up on my subtlety earlier, it was hot y’all. And I was truly concerned about being a sweaty, stinky mess by the time I was trying dresses on. Thankfully, the air was blasting once I got inside. And it’s important to mention that the energy of the staff was also excited and welcoming. And there was water. Thankfully, the other brides didn’t do a the frantic mad dash to the racks you sometimes see on bridal tv shows. Now, in retrospect, it seemed like everything happened at lightening speed now. But seriously within 10-15 minutes of looking, my sister found an option. It was a heavily beaded and sequined gown that featured a deep v-neck in the front and a partially exposed back. There was a mesh panel covering the skin on both sides. But what set this dress apart was the fact that it had a cape which was also beaded. I loved it. For year, again before I met my husband, my mother made her mother of the bride wishes explicitly clear. She wanted me in a princess gown, complete with the poofy bottom and all. I’m short. Like 5’1.5 and not only was I not interested in being swallowed up by a dress, I wanted to be able to show my shape. But after my sister found the first dress, I stumbled upon another one. It was poofy like my momma wanted but what made it so different was the fact that the top was entirely mesh. It had small sequins organized in diamond shapes across the front and jeweled accents on the straps and on the back of the dress that formed into the shape of a heart. The layers of tulle at the bottom didn’t dissuade me from having to try it on. Plus, it didn’t hurt that as I was admiring it, the shop owner and designer Andrea Campbell showed me a picture of how stunning the dress looked on an actual person. With those two options, my sister and I sat down, waiting for the next available consultant to see us. In that time, I realized I didn’t wear underwear that day and made a detour to Rainbow. The consultant later told me that most women don’t wear underwear to their fittings but I wanted to be as considerate as possible. I decided to try the poofy dress on first because it would likely take the most time. My mom, who lives in my hometown, couldn’t be there so we Facetimed her. Seeing me in that big gown was all she needed and she immediately started crying. I would include that image but she was in the midst of doing her hair. So I’ll save her the embarrassment of looking “unfinished” on the internet. But here are a few pics my sister took of me trying this dress on for the first time. Again, this was not what I planned for myself. But when I didn’t want to take the dress off, I knew I had to have it. But I still had another option to consider: the caped dress my sister chose. Seeing the indecision and stress on my face, my consultant asked me what I was thinking. I told her I loved both dresses and didn’t know which one to choose. That’s when she asked me my budget. To be honest, I had gone back and forth about how much I wanted to spend on a dress. There was a part of me that simply wanted to save money. But my sister told me something one day that really. A friend of ours told her that as unique as I am, I couldn’t have a dress that didn’t match that. I told the consultant that I didn’t want to spend any more than $3,000. She told me that with the sale prices of both of those dresses, the total for two of them was $2,900. Boom! I could get both–which was something I’d always imagined doing but put out of my mind once I started taking note of how expensive weddings are. We said yes to the dresses and made our way back to Harlem. It was a triumphant day. My sister sent my measurements and they mailed me a mermaid-shaped dress. I decided to accessorize it with a show-stopping, statement necklace from Aphia Sakyi , who I had seen featured on singer Ledisi and after I purchased my own, Ciara, Janet Jackson and one of the members of EnVogue. After three rounds of alterations appointments for the two Pantora gowns, an additional alteration for the South African one, concealer for my areolas and some nipple covers, you can see how it all came together on the following pages.
