To be specific, what occurred to certain characters viewers were introduced to in the film is something people are still trying to figure out. For example, earlier this week, Ava DuVernay answered a question from a fan who wondered what ever happened to Korey Wise ’s girlfriend, Lisa, whom he left briefly at a chicken joint to go to Central Park with friends. In the film, Korey was played by actor Jharrel Jerome ( now nominated for an Emmy award ), and Lisa was played by Euphoria star Storm Reid . Source: Atsushi Nishijima / Netflix And while, for instance, Raymond Santana was able to reconnect with his love interest, who is named Tanya in the movie (and played by Aurora Perrineau ), Korey was only able to daydream about Lisa when he was in prison for more than a decade. Ava said when he was finally released, he wasn’t able to get back in touch with her because she died. Unless Ava has some more insight on that, which she is looking to share, we’ll never know. There did seem to be an homage of sorts to her and that time Korey’s life at the end of the film. Overall, he’s lost a lot, including his innocence. But as Wise shared in an interview with The New York Times prior to the release of the hit Netflix movie, he still found that he has a lot to be thankful for. “ This is life after death,” he said of where he is now. “I always say that. Jeremy Roloff just showed a side of himself in public that we’ve never really seen before. Or heard before, we guess we should write, considering this side emerged during the star’s most recent podcast with his wife. Intrigued? You should be! As you must know by now — if you’re a fan of Little People, Big World and/or the Roloffs in general — both Audrey Roloff and Tori Roloff are pregnant right now. The former is due right around Thanksgiving (with a baby girl!) and the latter is due on January 8 (and has not yet learned the gender of her impending child). What a blessed time for the family, right? What a time to just sit back and realize their good fortune, while planning for an exciting, kid-filled future, right? Yes, but only to a certain extent it seems. On the latest installment of their joint podcast, Jeremy got more worked up than almost ever before when the topic turned to an ongoing question among social media users. “Question of the century that everyone wants to know,” said Audrey, introducing the subject. “No, Tori and I did NOT plan to be pregnant together.” It seems that a certain section of the Internet thinks the sisters-in-law planned their simultaneous pregnancies — for the sake of ratings? Attention? It’s unclear. And it’s also VERY annoying, Jeremy emphasized on air, cutting in on Audrey and stating strongly: “I’m gonna say that this is probably one of the most ridiculous, ignorant, rude, selfish …” At this point, Audrey cut right back in herself, defending the couple’s followers by trying to explain their reasoning for asking the question. Or at least their ignorance behind doing so. “I think a lot of people that are asking this question haven’t tried to get pregnant,” she said. Audrey’s point? Getting pregnant can be really hard. It can sadly be downright impossible for some couples. This isn’t something you just plan with to at the same time as your female loved one. “It’s coming from a complete point of ignorance,” Jeremy said. “Or just rudeness, I guess. It’s really disrespectful for the journey, the difficult journey, that a lot of women specifically have to go through… “Because getting pregnant is a gift from God … to say that, ‘oh you just chose to get pregnant because this other person’ … ugh, I don’t know. “It just really kind of rubbed me the wrong way that a lot of people are saying that. I just have to be frank about that.” We appreciate the candor, that’s for certain. Audrey announced her pregnancy on July 1, while Tori went viral with her major news on May 13. At the end of the day, Audrey noted, she and Tori are around the same age and both couples are simply experiencing the same “season of life,” so it shouldn’t come as a complete shock that they’re both expecting second kids around the same time. During the first days of July, 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? star Jay Smith was arrested and placed in ICE custody . Ashley explained that he had violated a protection order that she had been granted just a day earlier. It looked like Jay would just sit in custody until his inevitable deportation to Jamaica. Sad for his fans, and tragic for his mistress-turned-girlfriend — especially if you believe the rumor that he knocked her up . Now, in a sudden twist, Jay's luck seems to have changed. Things have changed for Jay We can honestly say that we did not expect to see this happen at all, let alone the way that it went down. 2. Jay and Ashley have been over for a while Back in early April, Ashley realized that Jay wasn’t just cheating again — he was part of an entire side relationship, and had been for months. They split and, this time, there would be no reconciliation. 3. Then came the PFA Ashley says that after she went on vacation with her family, Jay broke into her home and took things. She contacted police, who recommended that she obtain a Protection From Abuse order. Ashley said that there was “a lot of abuse” in their marriage. On July 1, the order was granted. 4. Apparently, Jay couldn’t be bothered to comply Jay took to Instagram and made explicit reference to the PFA — something specifically forbidden. He was not to discuss it at all. 5. Actions have consequences Police saw that Jay had allegedly violated the PFA, so they contacted him to inform him that he would be arrested. Jay turned himself in. Because he is not a US citizen (and was in fact awaiting deportation anyway), Jay was placed in ICE custody. 6. But he still has supporters Remember that long-term girlfriend of Jay’s? Ekaterina Karaglanova, a well-known Russian Instagram influencer, was stabbed to death inside her Moscow apartment on Friday, multiple outlets have now confirmed. She was just days from turning 25 years old. The details of the case are especially gruesome. According to The Independent, the travel and fashion blogger’s parents contacted her landlord after not having heard from their daughter for multiple days. At this point, the landlord entered Karaglanova’s residence and discovered the 24-year old’s corpse. The body was inside a suitcase in her apartment hallway. Stab wounds were evident on her neck and chest, while local police say there were not signs of a struggle at the scene; a murder weapon has not be uncovered from the premises. Karaglanova had recently graduated from medical school and had established over 92,000 followers at the time of her murder. The social media personality was mostly beloved for her luxurious travel posts, where she posed in such locations as Italy, Austria and Spain. Her final Instagram photo depicts Karaglanova lounging poolside in Corfu, Greece, detailing her love for traveling. In addition to her globally popular Instagram account and separate travel blog, the Russian brunette was hoping to break into the field of dermatology. Investigators are currently looking into the case, per Variety, citing jealousy from a former boyfriend as a possible motive behind the crime. A suspect reportedly has been arrested, but not many other details have been released at this time. According to police, however, CCTV footage captured an alleged ex-boyfriend entering Karaglanova’s building around the days of her disappearance. This video shows him leaving with a suitcase and wearing gloves. Ekaterina was also a former Miss Moscow first runner-up; she posted to her Instagram over 650 times through the years. “I travel often, but in ever country I spend no more than 3-5 days,” Karaglanova wrote on her official page on July 22, addinh: “The longest journey of my life was in Israel with my family, when I was 14. “We went to visit for a while month, covered the whole country. Now I prefer to travel very often, but briefly…The impressions of such short trips remain the brightest.” UPDATE : A spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Interior has released the following statement: “As a result of operational search activities, the police officers at the Moscow Directorate of the MVD of Russia in Moscow established the location and arrested the suspect in the murder of a female social media personality in the apartment of a residential building on Pyryeva Street. “He has now been brought in for questioning.” May Ekaterina Karaglanova rest in peace. Earlier this week, a judge ruled that a Christian rapper’s copyright infringement case against Katy Perry could proceed to the trial stage. The rapper — who goes by the stage name Flame — claims that Perry’s 2013 hit “Dark Horse” is a ripoff of his song “Joyful Noise.” It’s a bit ironic, considering that title must have been used by about 40 bajiliion Christian recording artists before Flame came along, but that’s a conversation for another time. Now, you may be wondering what in the hell (pardon us, evangelical readers) all of this has to do with Jessa Duggar. Well, if you’re a fan of her family’s and you follow her husband on social media, then you might already be familiar with Flame, aka Marcus Grey. Grey is a longtime Duggar associate who was once interviewed by Jessa’s husband, Ben Seewald, on the topic of race relations in America. Ben Seewald on Racial Unrest (There was a time when Ben tried to fashion a career for himself as a media figure who asks the tough questions. The less said about that phase, the better.) “Flame has been doing Christian hip hop for many years now,” Ben told the camera. “I started listening to some of Flame’s music a little over a year ago. I really appreciated the content of his music. We actually became friends.” Ben goes on to explain that his wife later became friends with Flame, and the couple even introduced the rapper to their then-infant son, Spurgeon. “During this visit we want to kind of introduce Flame to life in the country as opposed to life in the city,” Ben said when Grey’s visit to their was captured by TLC cameras. For years now, the Duggars have been outspoken critics of secular pop culture, and they’re especially chagrinned by what they see as overly-sexualized music directed at younger audiences. In other words, they’re probably not very big Katy Perry fans. This, combined with the unusually heated nature of Flame’s court battle against Perry (The singer even offered to perform her song live in front of the judge to make her case.) has led to rumors that Katy and Jessa don’t like each other. However, while it seems very likely that Jessa dislikes Katy, it seems equally likely that Katy has no idea who Jessa is. Besides, both women have so much on their plates these days that new enemies are probably the last thing on their minds. Katy has enough feuds to keep her busy for the next few decades. Meanwhile, Jessa just welcomed her third child . So as entertaining as it would be if these two started taking shots at one another on Twitter, sadly, it’ll probably never happen. Back in 2017, Selena Gomez underwent a life-saving kidney transplant . The donor was her longtime friend Francia Raisa, who risked her life in a procedure riddled with complications. Thankfully, both Gomez and Raisa survived the procedure. Their friendship, on the other hand, has officially been pronounced dead. According to a new report from Radar Online, Selena and Francia have not spoken in over nine months. “They haven’t talked at all since October,” a source close to the situation tells Radar. The news comes as a shock to many, as Selena repeatedly sang Francia’s praises in the weeks after her surgery. “She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me,” Gomez told Elle at the time. “I am incredibly blessed.” Selena tells the magazine she was so frail at one point that she was completely unable to perform the simplest of household tasks. “I couldn’t pick up my dog — he’s 16 pounds. That was rough. I couldn’t walk him.” Despite her brush with death, there are certain lifestyle changes that Selena simply refuses to make. For example, while many who have had issues with their kidneys choose to steer clear of alcohol and other substances that might tax the organs, Selena has proudly proclaimed that she still enjoys the occasional glass of wine. “As far as my personal life, someone sees me having a glass of wine? I could give two sh-ts,” she told Elle . “I’m not trying to hide. That’s my life.” While that’s certainly her prerogative, the folks at Radar speculate that Selena’s continued partying may have played a role in Rasia’s decision to end the friendship. Selena checked into rehab back in February, and many of her friends reportedly believe that drinking is one of the activities she should avoid for the sake of both her physical and mental wellbeing. We may never know exactly what led to the falling-out between Selena and Francia. But if Gomez was the one to pull the plug on the friendship — as is currently being rumored — we hope she can find it in heart to forgive her former friend. After all, she literally carries a piece of Raisa with her everywhere she goes.
