Derick Dillard SLAMMED by Fans for Faking Weight Problem

Though there have been times when Derick Dillard says something decent , he is once again coming under fire for a tweet of his. Fans are absolutely outraged after he shared what appeared to be heartfelt story about the steps he took to lose weight when he needed to. Take a look and you’ll understand his followers and their ire. “The Key to Keeping Your 2019 Resolutions,” Derick Dillard tweeted on the same Twitter account he used to derail his reality career. The eye-catching tweet, which proved controversial for reasons that we will explain, links to a blog post. “Some of you may not know this, but 7 years ago I weighed nearly 400 pounds,” Derick’s stunning post begins. “The day was New Years Eve, 2011,” Derick writes. “And I knew I needed to discipline myself to lose 250 pounds and lose it fast!” That is quite a goal for a person to have. “I didn’t know how I was going to do it,” Derick’s surprising post says. “Nor how I would stay focused.” “But,” he writes. “I was determined that it was going to happen, and nothing could stop me.” “I even surprised myself when I saw that nearly 100 pounds had just melted away in the first month!” he claims. That would be multiple pounds of weight loss per day, alarming on multiple levels. “I ended-up ahead of schedule,” Derick says. “Dropping 251 pounds in just 3 months!” If you’re scratching your head at Derick’s unbelievable story, know that it isn’t believable for a reason. Like so much of what comes out of Derick’s mouth, it just isn’t true. “If this story sounds too good to be true, that’s because it is,” Derick announces, as if he is proud of himself. There’s a lot of talk this time of year about making resolutions,” he says. Derick continues: “Whether you intend to make a physical, financial, spiritual, or some other resolution, it’s important to have a game-plan for success.” He then outlines a generic self-help outline for reaching goals. Derick of course concludes: “nothing ultimately matters anyway unless it’s done for the one true God.” Fans who clicked through to his article and found that he had been duped were understandably outraged. “DO NOT CLICK ON THIS FOLKS,” advised one fan on Twitter. “it’s a fake ad to get you to visit their website, lies lies lies!” “They are scum and just want clicks for money for themselves,” cautions another. “Even if that means outright LYING” “Oh, I just read the whole thing,” an additional follower warns. “Shame on you for pretending to have a significant weight problem as clickbait for your blog.” “You used a lie to get money,” that same follower accuses. “I don’t think that’s very Christ-like.” The first day’s of a new year are an unnervingly predatory time on social media. Many people make resolutions to alter their diet, exercise habits, or simply to lose weight by any means necessary. Some celebrities exploit this by endorsing weight-loss products, like those that Jameela Jamil has been opposing . The products sold to often young, impressionable fans are often bad for them, and may simply give them diarrhea. In Derick’s case, he’s using a phony story to attract his personal fans to his personal blog. Is he exploiting his followers for ad revenue or just trying to make a buck like everybody else? What Derick essentially did was prank his fans. If there is ever an acceptable time for a prank (and there is not), it would be April Fool’s Day. Baiting fans with a bogus story of miraculous weight-loss is … well, ethically questionable at best, right?  Still, this is far from the most reprehensible thing that Derick has ever tweeted. His transphobic attacks against Jazz Jennings, which ultimately led to his firing from Counting On , are still fresh in many people’s minds. Any grown man who would use his platform and his religion to cyberbully a teenage girl is capable of lying to get some extra clicks to his blog. We can understand why his followers felt betrayed. Paola Mayfield and Russ Mayfield Welcome First Child!

In July, 90 Day Fiance stars Paola Mayfield and Russ Mayfield shared that they were expecting their first child . This was a big deal for the couple, in part because Pao had already suffered a miscarriage. They’re sharing their rainbow baby’s name, very special time of birth, and even a photo . The baby is here! “What an amazing way to start the new year,” Paola Mayfield announced in the caption beside this photo. “While I was hearing the fireworks and people telling me ‘happy new year,'” Pao writes. “I was just focused on meeting my baby boy.” “Our little miracle is so beautiful and calm,” she gushes. “I feel so blessed,” Paola raves. “And I can’t believe I am a mom now!” “I’m ready to start this new adventure,” Paola’s post continues. “And to be the best mom for baby Axel.” What a fun name for this precious baby! “I’m so proud of my husband,” she continues. “He was there for me the entire time.” “I couldn’t have done it without you @russ_mayfield,” Pao says sweetly. This couple has had their ups and downs, but they are solidly together and supportive of each other these days. “The joy I feel is indescribable,” Paola raves. That is no surprise, and we’re not just talking about the oxytocin and endorphins. She’s delighted to be a mom. “I’ve never felt so happy in my life,” she announces. “Axel has become my whole world,” she shares. “And I’m so in love with him.” That is so sweet! “Thank you all for supporting us,” Paola writes to fans and followers. She continues: “and ‘patiently’ waiting to finally meet him!” Some fans were patient — some were not. That’s just how things are. “We are so blessed!” she concludes. She then reveals his time of birth: “Baby Axel was born January 1, 2019 at 12:22 AM.” He really is a New Year’s baby! Paola was not the only one who took to Instagram on Thursday to gush about Axel. “What an amazing feeling to be overwhelmed with joy,” Russ writes. “We would like to introduce you to Axel Mayfield,” he says. “He is already taking after his father and is such a cute, sweet, and calm little boy,” Russ announces. Russ then drops some stats, sharing that Axel was born “measuring 22 inches in length, and weighing in at 7 lbs and 5 oz.” “This has been the HAPPIEST NEW YEAR we have ever experienced,” Russ proclaims. “Momma and baby are doing so well!” Russ shares. “I cannot express enough how proud I am of Pao,” “She was such trooper bringing him into the world,” he gushes. “Pao’s bouncing back stronger than ever,” he reveals. “And Axel is rocking his eat, sleep, poop, repeat like a champ.” That’s what babies do. “Thank you everyone for all your love, support, prayers, good vibes, and all the encouraging messages,” Russ tells his fans and followers. “It brings us so much joy,” Russ concludes. “Knowing how much our baby boy is already adored.” Congratulations to Paola and Russ! Axel is a great name (yes, it’s unusual, but it’s easy and intuitive to spell and that matters a lot more than popularity). We are so glad to hear that both mother and baby are recovering so well. May we all have a 2019 as blessed as theirs! View Slideshow: Paola Mayfield: 90 Day Fiance Star’s Hottest Photos That Russ Doesn’t Want You to See!

Bird Box Challenge: Netflix Begs Fans to STOP Dangerous Meme

Netflix’s hit film Bird Box took viewers and Twitter by storm and spawned hilarious memes . Unfortunately, it also inspired the Bird Box Challenge, in which people film themselves blindfolded. This is so dangerous that Netflix has put out a PSA begging people to not deliberately blind themselves. Bird Box was a hit on Netflix during this holiday season. It was thrilling and compelling and Sandra Bullock is, as always, an inspired casting choice. Unfortunately, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, as evidenced by people participating in the “Bird Box Challenge.” In the film, the characters must wear blindfolds most of the time in order to avoid being driven to kill themselves by violent apparitions. Some Netflix viewers with too much time on their hands decided to “challenge” themselves to navigate while  blindfolded. Whether it’s in their homes or outdoors, the results tend to be either boring, messy, or dangerous. Putting on a blindfold does not magically transform you into the titular character of Daredevil . In fact, outside of the bedroom, it usually just leads to injuries. This is so bad that Netflix themselves have stepped in on social media. In a tweet on Wednesday, Netflix implored their followers to let this trend die as quickly as it sprang into being. “Can’t believe I have to say this,” the tweet begins. “But: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE.” “We don’t know how this started,” Netflix says. “And we appreciate the love,” “But Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019,” the tweet reads. Netflix concludes: “and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.” That’s a pretty good wish. Unlike actual memes, which involve photos and videos and are usually harmless, challenge culture can be dangerous. Popular on video-sharing sites and especially on YouTube, people vie for social media clout by emulating others. The pressure to make your video not only watchable but sensational — in the hopes of going viral — can be dangerous. Participants — especially teens, but also grown-ass adults — can and do endanger themselves in their desperate effort for clicks. Viral fame can transform someone’s life, so they’re willing to risk it all. But you know what else can change your life? A life-altering injury . It’s right there in the name. This of course brings to mind a challenge that was passed around in January of 2018. Harmless memes shared on social media about forbidden snacks — household items that people had resisted eating as children — spawned a challenge. The Tide Pod Challenge was mostly an inflated joke, as people would edit videos to make it appear that they ate laundry detergent. There were people who, perhaps not realizing that the videos were edited, were not in on the joke. A few people tried to earn social media clout by actually putting tide pods into their mouths. Though only a handful of people genuinely participated, we would remind members of the TGH Nation: please do not ingest bleach. Just as you would not ingest dish soap in the hopes of racking up YouTube views, please do not participate in the Bird Box challenge. We don’t know how many people are actually doing it and how many are filming themselves acting out rehearsed blunders. Regardless, actually depriving yourself of eyesight for fun is just a recipe for disaster. Head injuries are no joke. And quite frankly, neither is a stubbed toe. If you are lucky enough to have eyesight, use it to navigate your world safely. Not everyone is so lucky. View Slideshow: Bird Box Memes Hilariously Take Over Twitter

Scott Disick: Slammed By Fans For "Racist" Photo of Daughter

If you had told us that at some point in 2019, there would be controversy involving a photo of Scott Disick and a very young female , our response would have been something along the lines of “no doi!” But we woudn’t have guessed the female would be his daughter, and we certainly never would have predicted the scandal would be racial in nature: On Thursday morning, Scott posted the above photo of himself and his daughter Penelope at what appears to be an Asian-style restaurant. As you can see, Penelope looks to be pulling on her eyelids in such a way as to mock facial features that are often associated with Asian people. Not surprisingly, the backlash from fans was swift and harsh. “I’m Asian and that was racist,” commented one angry follower .  “She must have seen someone do it to think it’s okay,” wrote another. “Teach her not to do the Chinese eye thing at a sushi restaurant. Don’t teach her to be a racist. Cause that’s what’s gonna happen,” a third pointed out. A surprising number of commenters were quick to come to Scott’s defense: “She is a little f**king girl making a goofy face in a picture with her dad,” wrote one such fan. “What race of people even have eyes like that???? Seriously get a life, it’s a child who wouldn’t even know what racism is,” commented another. “She is a child. She doesn’t know better and she is lifting her eyes. Not stretching Opens a New Window.  them sideways,” remarked a third. Now, kids do dumb sh-t all the time. In fact, one could argue that childhood is simply a succession of increasingly less dumb sh-t, which leads to adulthood, a time in which you endeavor to do less dumb sh-t, because now there’s an increased that it will cost you money. Racism is something far too nefarious and harmful to fall under the relatively innocuous heading of “dumb sh-t,” but when the perpetrator is 6 years old, the problem is almost certainly that they’re being ignorant in the classical sense, and now willfully malicious. The question is, why — instead of correcting his daughter on why that’s not the sort of gesture she should be making under any circumstances but particularly in public — did Scott instead choose to post this image for his 21 million Instagram followers. And why does he have yet to take it down or offer an apology? Scott’s daughter engaged in some very foolish behavior here, it’s true. But it’s Scott who really failed by both failing to take advantage of a teachable moment, and by putting this deeply problematic image out there for all the world to see. The commenter who said Penelope has no idea what racism is is probably correct. It’s up to the adults in her life to teach her. View Slideshow: Scott Disick: Banging ALL of the Kardashians?!

Anna Duggar: Defying Josh By Letting Her Daughter Wear Jeans?!

If you’re a fan of the family, then by now, you’re probably pretty well-acquainted with the Duggar dress code . The most infamous rule that Jim Bob and Michelle’s offspring are forced to follow is a gender-specific one. Women in the Duggar family are not allowed to wear pants  and must stick to long skirts until such time as they get married and leave the nest. At which time, it’s their husbands who get to decide what they’re allowed to wear. It’s not the most progressive policy, but then this is the Duggars we’re talking about. Fortunately, some of the women in the family have taken advantage of the freedom they enjoy once they wriggle out from under Jim Bob’s control. Jinger was the first to rebel , and she began wearing pants shortly after marrying Jeremy Vuolo. Several of her sisters followed suit, and over the weekend, several fans became very excited over what appeared to be an indication that the rebellious spirit had been passed on to a new generation. Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna Duggar, posted the above photo to Instagram yesterday. “We enjoyed one last trip to Silver Dollar City this year!” she captioned the pic. “It was great to be there with most of Joshua’s family and some extended family too! How are you guys wrapping up 2018?!?!” As In Touch Weekly points out , in the comments section, fans were less interested in answering Anna’s question than in commenting on the attire of her daughter, Mackynzie. “I love this little girls wearing jeans!” one fan wrote. “I always think you ladies must get so cold with wearing skirts all the time, so I was happy to see the little girls warm and cozy in pants.” Some fans even went so far as to speculate that Anna might be allowing her daughters’ to wear jeans in direct defiance of her scandalous husband, Josh Duggar. While we’d love it if that were the case, Anna was quick to clear the air and dash our hopes: “From the time Mackynzie has been a baby I have always allowed our girls to wear jeans instead of leggings in the winter,” she replied to one comment. “The long coat is covering her dress.” So the girls are allowed to wear jeans under their dresses and only on cold days. Sigh. Well, it’s 2019, but the Duggars are still the Duggars. View Slideshow: Duggar Family: Secrets of Their Twisted Ministry Revealed

Orlando Brown Reveals He Has ‘Quite A Bit’ Of Children, But Can’t Remember Their Ages And Names

See the rest here:

Source: David Livingston / Getty From domestic violence accusations to crystal meth charges , it’s not a secret that former child actor  Orlando Brown hasn’t taken the best path in life in the past few years. Now, he may be adding “deadbeat Dad” to his resume. On the Dec. 21 episode of “Dr. Phil,” the “That’s So Raven” star admitted that he has fathered numerous children, so many in fact, that he can’t remember all of their names and ages. “I got a 2-year-old, 4-year-old… 5-year-old, 8 and 11.” He added another surprising detail to the mix by mentioning, “[The] 2-year-old still in the belly. We don’t know [the name] yet.” Brown’s friend told Dr. Phil that he called the show because he’s extremely worried about the actor’s weakened psychological state. “I called in because Orlando, he has mental problems. He’s burnt so many bridges, no one wants to deal with him. If you can’t help, he does not have a chance,” one of Brown’s friends explained during a call-in during the episode. “Out of nowhere, he’ll say: ‘Michael Jackson is my father. I own Neverland.” To show his love for the King of Pop, during his interview he rocked a pair of  contacts that made his eyes closer resemble that of a snake’s . “They’re my Michael Jackson eyelids from ‘Thriller,’” Brown told Dr. Phil. Brown continued by claiming he’s Jackson’s son. “My full name is Orlando Brown Prince Michael Jackson Jr. aka Blanket,” Brown claimed. “My nickname I gave to myself. My father was Michael Jackson, the great Michael Jackson…I used to always wonder why I’m so astronomically blessed and gifted when it comes to being talented. I rap, sing and I do everything immaculately,” he stressed. Adding, “The eyes. And also just speaking to different Jackson family members that, you know, have confirmed it. So yeah, it’s a blessing to know that. I can sit here today and say, that yeah, that Michael Jackson was my father.” Before the interview ended, Dr. Phil offered Orlando help at a Malibu addiction and mental health treatment center. Sadly, he refused that help on air. “That sounds cool but I don’t have the time right now,” he said. “I really wish I did have the time. I’ve been going through treatments and a lot of group sessions and all of this stuff unnecessarily in the first place. I refuse to let myself believe that, you know, I have a problem.” He also talked about what he’s trying to focus on now. “Right now what I need help with is me basically having my home, my kids and my life. That’s all I need,” he said. “Like I mentioned earlier, four years sober. I don’t think I need the help.” “I think some people on the outside need to grow up and they need to really take responsibility for what they’ve done in their lives and stop trying to hide between other people’s masks,” he continued. “I just got out of rehab, out of the E.R. I’m not doing no more time away from my kids that I need to. I want my kids to be with me in Neverland.” Thankfully, according to Dr. Phil after the show ended,  Orlando later accepted his help and is currently in the center getting the attention he so desperately needs. We hope he gets well for the new year. 90 Day Fiance Finale Recap: Zero Days Without Cheating

90 Day Fiance aired its season finale and viewers are already hyped for the Tell-All Special. But the finale itself had so much, including Jay Smith’s cheating scandal and a lot of family drama. Who actually made it to the altar? Take a look: Let’s start with Kalani and Asuelu, who are likeable enough even though they really should not have gotten married. These two had a lot of problems from the beginning. Their fling would never have become more than that if she hadn’t become pregnant. Kalani had baby Oliver and she and Asuelu resolved to marry … and now Kalani is pregnant again. So she spends a lot of her wedding day episode narrative hoping that her father won’t find out that she’s expecting her second child. (As you may recall, Asuelu refuses to wear condoms and says that they are for “slut people,” which is … really stupid) He doesn’t find out on screen, though he obviously knows about it now. Should these two have gotten married? No. Did they? Yes. Their wedding was as beautiful as the memes spawned from Asuelu’s crying. Next up, we have to talk about this season’s worst couple: Colt and Larissa. While most of the drama with Coltee and Larissa happened off-screen, plenty of their nonsense was caught on camera. These two did get married, despite Larissa’s (first) domestic battery arrest. Larissa got married in a wedding dress from Goodwill. There were more people from TLC, filming and producing the wedding, than there were actual guests. Considering the bride and groom themselves … that’s not really a huge surprise. Speaking of toxic relationships, let’s look at Eric and Leida. Admittedly, most of their drama was with Eric’s family, whom Leida seems to think he should foreswear. Leida’s dismissive attitude towards Eric’s children has earned her a lot of hate (deservedly) and some death threats (not cool). Despite Eric’s lack of financial resources, he and Leida did get married. His older daughters were not interested in watching this go down, but his youngest was there. For a comical twist, Eric forgot his pants just 35 minutes before the wedding. For possibly the first time, I sympathize with the guy — pants are nothing but leg-prisons. Eric immediately dashes any connection wtih viewers by toasting “everyone that showed up” to his wedding. Steven and Olga’s story really belonged on 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days . Why? Because Olga gave birth in Russia, and this high-conflict couple spent their time in Russia. Steven’s open resentment of their child, Alex (that’s his name, regardless of what you heard on the show; it’s a long story), was yikes-worthy. So it was nice for viewers to see him leave Russia without Olga and without their baby. He was vowing to work on the K-1 Visa paperwork (it costs money, folks). Fans really, really hope that he gave himself a major attitude adjustment, too. Because, in real life, these two are still together. We will say that their social media posts seem extremely endearing. The secret is for Steven to not be talking while the camera is on. Jonathan and Fernanda’s wedding was almost as beautiful as the couple themselves. The one downside to their happy day was that Jonathan’s mother couldn’t attend, at the last minute. This wasn’t an issue with Fernanda or her youth. Jonathan’s grandfather was sick. Real life doesn’t pause for weddings, and Fernanda understood that. Fernanda also wished that her own mother could be in attendance. Also, Fernanda let it slip that she’s planning to have yet another wedding in Mexico, so it’s all good. Then there’s Jay and Ashley. Ashley caught Jay cheating on her, though he objects to that definition of “cheating.” The dude downloaded Tinder the instant that they got married. She caught him video chatting another girl the day ater their wedding. Ashley was understandably furious, which is probably why Jay is currently asking fans for cash . Jay is 20 and seems to have almost no impulse control. From day one, Ashley’s friends had warned her that he was going to cheat on her. We had all hoped that they were wrong. Who else is absolutely, unapologetically hyped for the Tell-All Special ? They’ll get into relationship issues, from Jay’s cheating to Steven’s absolutely repulsive attitude and the way that he speaks to Olga. But most of all, fans are looking forward to seeing how Larissa interacts with her castmates. Coltee may be good at putting on his condescending “nice voice” and at least pretending to be reasonable. Larissa has not pretended to be reasonable a day in her life, and cameras are not going to stop her. Get excited, folks. View Slideshow: 90 Day Fiance Stars: How Much Are They Paid?

Cheyenne Floyd: Yes, I Want More Kids… with Cory!

Let's face it: Cheyenne Floyd has been the most boring Teen Mom of all the Teen Mom OGs this season. That's not an insult. Heck, it's nearly a compliment because it means her life has been relatively stable — which doesn't exactly lead to significant storylines on a show such as this. Most of Floyd's initial run on the program has centered on her relationship with Cory Wharton and whether the two will get back together. On stage at part two of the reunion special, Floyd doesn't exactly answer this question. But she sort of does. See what we mea below… 1. Together Again On stage, at least, as Cory and Cheyenne taped their segment of a reunion special that will air on 12/31/18 many weeks ago. 2. Wait, Is That Cory Crying? Yup. It sure is. He actually dissolves in tears early on while talking to Dr. Drew. 3. What Prompts the Waterworks? Talk of his daughter with Cheyenne, a toddler named Ryder. Wharton opens up like never before on this episode. 4. What Do You Mean? What Does He Say? “I mean, just from the time of meeting Ryder from day one, I have changed as a person,” Cory admits, as the tears flow and Floyd comforts her ex-lover. 5. It’s a Blessing, It Really Is. It’s a Blessing. Cory said this to a strong reaction from both those in attendance and from Cheyenne as well. 6. Cheyenne Floyd and Child Cheyenne Floyd had her first child at 24. Though she was never a Teen Mom, she’ll soon join the cast of Teen Mom OG. View Slideshow
