Kailyn Lowry Rules at Halloween, Coparenting!

Recently, Kailyn Lowry treated Lux to his first Disneyland trip . As a mom, she makes sure that her sons experience the joys that life and childhood have to offer. Over the weekend, she and her sons enjoyed an early Halloween celebration. And yes, of course there are pictures. On top of showing that she knows how to do Halloween right, Kailyn Lowry also made it very clear that she’s totally nailing this whole coparenting thing. First of all, look at these three precious boys and their mom. Kailyn is positively glowing with maternal joy. Remember — we all love Halloween as adults, either because we like the parties or because we like the movie marathons or because we like yard decorations or we like this time of year or it’s Gay Christmas or we just love any excuse to dress up and drink. But children? Halloween is a truly magical, wonderful night as children. It’s an adventure. You get to dress up and go to people’s houses and get free candy. As adults, we can all just buy candy. Kids don’t have that luxury. For them, especially at the ages of Isaac and Lincoln, Halloween is a miracle . But Kailyn’s sons weren’t the only kids invited to the pre-Halloween festivities. Here, we see Isaac and Lincoln posing with Vivi. Who is Vivi, you might ask? Jo Rivera and his fiancee, Vee Torres, were hanging out with Kailyn because Isaac is Jo’s son, too. Vivi is that couple’s young daughter. Coparenting is not always easy, but unless there are very good reasons to do otherwise, kids might be better off spending a holiday with both parents (if they’re getting along amicably) than being juggled back and forth between alternating holidays. And yes, Javi Marroquin was also there — which is no surprise. Kailyn and Briana DeJesus are feuding over Javi , if reports are to be believed, so we’d say that Kailyn cares about him quite a bit. Let’s not politicize Isaac and Lincoln’s meeting with this police mascot, folks. It’s not a political statement. Also, children need to know how to interact with and, usually, to trust police. (You can make all of the furry jokes that you like, though) Sadly, Lincoln and Isaac might have more police contact than any child should need to if Chris Lopez, Lux’s father, doesn’t change his ways. We’ve all learned the scary reason Kailyn keeps Chris Lopez away , and it’s about so much more than unsigned paternity papers. Reportedly, Chris Lopez has been physically abusive towards Kailyn, even going so far as hitting her while she was holding their baby. So Chris Lopez is conspicuously absent from this photo — with good reason. A shame that things were too awkward and Javi Marroquin couldn’t bring his alleged girlfriend Briana DeJesus . (Kidding! But can you imagine ?) No, but seriously. Not all families look like a creepy 1950s fantasy with a man and a woman and 2.5 kids. It’s fine if they do, but a lot of families are a lot more complicated. What matters is that you find a healthy and safe way to make it work, and that you always put the kids first. And that’s what Kailyn Lowry is clearly doing with two of her baby daddies. Happy pre-Halloween, everybody. View Slideshow: Kailyn Lowry: Timeline of a Turbulent Teen Mom Life

Kim Kardashian: See the Birthday Girl in Her Birthday Suit!

Kim Kardashian is intent on actually breaking the Internet someday. The controversial reality star was honored at the 2016 Webby Awards, telling those in attendance that she plans on posing for nude selfies until the day she dies . How many more self-portraits in her birthday suit does this mean the world will be subjected to? It's unclear. But let's take a look back at all the times Kim Kardashian nude photos have cropped up on our timeline: 1. Take THIS! In March 2016, Kim posed totally naked on Twitter in response to criticism from celebrities… over past times she posed totally naked on Twitter. 2. Sexy on Snapchat Following the birth of North West, Kim shared a naked Snapchat photo of herself at her trainer’s gym, which she said she was using as motivation to lose the baby weight. 3. A FaceTime Tease This one was weird. In September 2015, Kim FaceTimed (while naked!) with photographer Mert Alas, who used the images as part of a magazine pictorial. 4. Kim Kardashian Naked FaceTime Also part of that strange shoot she did with Mert Alas. (NOTE: How lucky is Mert Alas?!?) 5. Kind of Kanye We have Kanye West to thank for this one. The rapper shared numerous scantily-clad pictures of his wife online, back in March of 2015. 6. Kim Kardashian: Naked on a Computer Screen Also from March of 2015. Also courtesy of Mr. Kanye West. This is our kind of crazy! View Slideshow

#TakeAKnee: Rishard Matthews Apologizes For Threatening To Give Up Football Over National Anthem

See more here:

Source: Don Juan Moore / Getty Rishard Matthews of the Tennessee Titans said he would be willing to leave Football if he was forced to stand for The National Anthem . The NFL player announced in September that he would continue to kneel for The National Anthem until Donald Trump says he’s sorry for calling protesting NFL players “sons of b*tches,” ESPN.com reports. There’s word that the NFL may institute a rule that requires players to stand for the National Anthem, which would make it impossible for some players to peacefully protest police brutality against Black people before the games. When asked what he would do if it became mandatory for him to stand during the anthem, Rishard tweeted, “I will be done playing football.” Rishard wiped the tweet from his timeline, but not before an NFL reporter Paul Kuharsky captured and reposted it. Significant response here from @_RMatthews , since deleted. #Titans . (Now tagging correct address.) pic.twitter.com/5bvlwpKRWx — Paul Kuharsky (@PaulKuharskyNFL) October 12, 2017 Rishard apologized for his statement today in another tweet, explaining that he didn’t think about his post before putting it up. “Sometimes people, as you all know, tweet some ignorant things out at some moments, and that was an ignorant thing I tweeted out at that given moment,” Rishard told Kuharsky . “I take full responsibility. That’s why it went down [was deleted], but somebody caught me with a screen shot.” With this statement, it seems that Rishard gave his threat a second thought. It’s unclear whether he will continue kneeling before games after this social media dust up. Here’s How Journalists Of Color Practice Self-Care During The Trump Era

The rest is here:

M ost people can agree that 2017 has not been an easy year. For journalists of color, the stories we are called to write and report on have been heart wrenching, tear-jerking, and downright triggering to produce. But we continue to wake up every day, fulfill our callings, and get this money because we were taught to power through anything that threatens our livelihood. Here are some of the things Ione Digital journalists do to calm themselves in the face of crisis: “ I realize that when the news cycle is brutal, it’s more important than ever to allow yourself to unplug. For me that means I sign off Twitter, leave my phone on silent, and zone out with a good book or a face mask. It also means helping others, whether it means reaching out to see how other colleagues are doing or finding a way to help with charity work.”  –   Jada Gomez, CASSIUS Deputy Editor “I find laughter, whether it’s via a movie or my friends or a funny joke on Twitter. Being able to laugh about something often allows me to decompress and relax.  I also listen to music, which might be my biggest refuge in this crazy world. Looking for new material, new artists, or just feeling nostalgic and playing something old allows me to go to another place. Sometimes,  I write it out. Writing about my thoughts and feelings helps me identify and acknowledge a lot of things about myself. Even if it’s for me to see and no one else, seeing how I feel on a page or on a screen can sometimes show me a different perspective.”  – Cory Townes, CASSIUS Associate Entertainment Editor “ I give myself permission to tap out. I turn on my favorite ‘reality’ TV shows and zone out to decompress my mind. Red wine helps, too. Lots of wine.”  – Keyaira Kelly, Hello Beautiful Staff Writer & Producer “ I cry sometimes. No apologies. I remind myself that if reporting/witnessing death and destruction doesn’t occasionally move me to tears, particularly as a parent whose babes have to thrive in this world, something’s wrong with  me .  I preach to the choir: I only check for my most woke crew when I need to vent about the crazy and feel affirmed that my point of view is actually what’s sane. Whether on social or in real life, when it gets thick, I only seek the bona fide, unwavering wise ones.  I puff, puff, pass.   I mean, if it was legal. When in serious need of less stress, I might throw on a robe, relax, indulge, eat Munchos and talk shit while not watching the Kardashians or  Antique Road Show .  Might , you judgmental freaks.”  – Kierna Mayo, Senior Vice President of Content and Brands “ I choose what I consume.  I haven’t watched [footage of] the LV shooting and I probably won’t. I have the power of what I watch and I don’t have to watch violent acts towards people. I also do this so these things aren’t normalized in my mind.  I   call someone I love.   Sometimes these acts can make you feel helpless. However, there are people that I love and who love me and no time is a better time to let someone know how you feel about them than now. Also: d eep breathing.  It really is powerful and calming and a stress reliever. Try it!”  – Danielle James, Hello Beautiful Style & Beauty Editor “ I’ve gotten back into therapy, which has been very helpful. I also take time away from social media and prioritize spending time with my loved ones in ways that I haven’t in recent years. In the past, I’ve been more inclined to ‘drink it away,’ but I’ve actually been indulging in alcohol less and turning to the ‘mighty herb’ instead (legally, of course). It does wonders for my anxiety and helps me sleep, which doesn’t come easy these days.”  – Jamilah Lemieux, Vice President of News and Men’s Programming “ I pray.  It sounds cliche, but it’s gotten me through during some of the most difficult times of my life. There’s a sense of calm and serenity it brings, which definitely helps me get through.  I also talk to Nana.   My 93-year-old grandmother has seen it all; it’s an added blessing that at her age she’s still sharp as a tack, lives on her own, is pretty self-sufficient and is in great health. Whenever I feel like all is hopeless, she always knows how to put things in perspective as she’s powered through the toughest of times from war, segregation, and political turmoil to extreme poverty and death.  I also watch ratchet TV.   Sometimes a bit of escapism is all you need to get through. When I’m feeling overwhelmed with day to day stress and the current the state of affairs a little  Love and Hip Hop  or  WAGS  messiness always gives me a much needed laugh.”  – Marielle Bobo, Executive Director of Style & Special Projects “ I try as hard as possible to zone out. I’ll say a prayer, listen to Solange or Lauryn Hill, and just vibe out. Watching pointless reality TV also helps. I refuse to watch the news after six, I like to wind down as calm as possible.”  – James Love, Associate Editor of Style & Culture “Some work weeks are crazier than others, but I try to carve out time for exercise no matter what. Meditation and stretches in the mornings. Yoga after work. Sometimes it’s a jog. Whatever the activity, getting lost in my body allows me to tune out the noise and tune into myself. I journal whenever I find my thoughts making a mess of themselves. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed or anxious and can’t place my finger on why. Since I’m visual, seeing my thoughts on paper helps me sort them out and find solutions. A typical morning commute is me scrolling through my timeline for headlines while packed on the 1 train, but if I need extra ‘me’ time before I shift into work mode, I’ll read a book. Books have been my number one escape since I was a child. They’re a place of solace in turbulent times, and sometimes getting lost in someone else’s story is just what I need to take the edge off. I’m very introverted by nature and don’t like bombarding others with my issues, but when all else fails, I’ll confide in someone I love, like a trusted friend or my partner.” –  Stephanie Long, News & Culture Editor SEE ALSO: 4 Steps To Healthy Eating With Black Plant Foods Five Tips To Jump-Start Your Workout In 2017 [ione_media_gallery src=”https://newsone.com” id=”3053899″ overlay=”true”]

Mark Zuckerberg, Priscilla Chan Welcome Daughter With Heartwarming Letter

Mark Zuckerberg is something of a divisive figure these days. Sure, he founded a service that most of us use every day, and he says he’s committed to making the world a better place, but at the same time, there are many who believe he’s more responsible than anyone else for the proliferation of “fake news” that loomed so large over the 2016 election. Plus, we’re sick of getting notifications every time someone on our friends list “goes live” to show off their new haircut, ya know. Anyway, the Zuck seems like an okay guy who’s probably a bit over his head as chief of arguably the world’s most important media outlet, but that’s a conversation for another time. Today, all we have to say to Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan is, congratulations on bringing another billionaire baby into the world! Yes, Zuckerberg announced yesterday on Facebook (natch) that he and wife Priscilla Chan had welcomed a baby girl named August. She’s the second child for the couple, who welcomed daughter Max  in 2015. As he did when Max was born, Zuckerberg penned a moving open letter to his baby girl: “Welcome to the world! Your mom and I are so excited to see who you will become,” he began. Zuckerberg then referenced the viral letter that he wrote to Max, before revealing that he’d like to take a slightly different tone this time around. “When your sister was born, we wrote a letter about the world we hoped she and now you will grow up in — a world with better education, fewer diseases, stronger communities, and greater equality … We’re optimists about your generation and the future,” the billionaire CEO wrote. Zuckerberg concludes with an ode to the magic of child that’s sure to bring a tear to any parent’s eye: “You will be busy when you’re older, so I hope you take time to smell all the flowers and put all the leaves you want in your bucket now. I hope you read your favorite Dr. Seuss books so many times you start inventing your own stories about the Vipper of Vipp. “I hope you ride the carousel with Max until you’ve tamed every color horse. I hope you run as many laps around our living room and yard as you want. “And then I hope you take a lot of naps. I hope you’re a great sleeper. And I hope even in your dreams you can feel how much we love you. “Childhood is magical. You only get to be a child once, so don’t spend it worrying too much about the future. You’ve got us for that, and we’ll do everything we possibly can to make sure the world is a better place for you and all children in your generation. “August, we love you so much and we’re so excited to go on this adventure with you. We wish you a life of joy, love and the same hope you give us.” Not only is it a powerful message of love from a devoted parent, it’s also a potent reminder that not every Facebook post has to be about politics, people, damn! We hope Mayweather and McGregor fight again just so we can have another one hour break from Trump talk in our timeline. Make it happen, you two! It’s a step toward redeeming yourselves for lifetimes of douche-baggery. Oh, and, um … congratulations to Mark and Priscilla. Sorry, we got a little sidetracked there.
