Bernard Madoff’s life of luxury is a thing of the past. The disgraced financier blamed for what is believed to be the largest Ponzi scheme in history arrived Tuesday at a federal prison in North Carolina to begin a 150-year sentence in a cell with two bunk beds, a toilet and a sink.

Adelphia’s Rigases Seek Dismissal of U.S. Tax Case (Update1) (Bloomberg)

July 14 (Bloomberg) — A lawyer for imprisoned Adelphia Communications Corp. founder John Rigas and his son Timothy asked a court to dismiss their tax indictments on the ground that prosecutors want to try them twice for the same crime.
