Gruesome Evidence Makes Casey Anthony Sick

Casey Anthony abruptly left the courtroom during her murder trial with an undisclosed sickness after seeing graphic photos of her slain daughter’s remains. Whatever the reason, that was the end of the trial for the day. ” Miss Anthony is ill . We’re recessing for the day,” Judge Belvin Perry said. “Neither the state nor the defense has any comment regarding her illness.” The early end to the court session in the Orlando murder trial came after a day of graphic testimony and grisly photographs of Caylee’s remains. Discovered in December 2008, two-year-old Caylee had disappeared five months earlier. Casey Anthony is accused of murdering the toddler. When testimony with the Orange County Chief Deputy Medical Examiner, Dr. Gary Utz, began after s lunch break, Anthony looked weak and pale. Then, after the break, she looked like she was going to be sick. She couldn’t even stand up as the jury left the courtroom. She was escorted out. Utz testified that duct tape was wrapped around Caylee’s skull so tightly that it held her lower jaw in place even amid severe decomposition. He called this highly unusual. “Pieces of silver or gray-colored duct tape [were] over the jaw,” he said. “I’ve never seen a case where the mandible was found with the skull.” Photos of Caylee’s body were shown to the jury.. Earlier in the week, prosecutors say Anthony searched for chloroform and neck breaking online. The defense claims Caylee died of an accidental drowning , a shocking claim they made in opening arguments. How would that exonerate Casey? Casey was in denial due to psychological scars from being sexually abused by her own father when she was a child, her attorneys claim. [Photo: Fox News]

Nelly And Kelly Rowland’s ‘Gone’ Video Hits The Net

Reunited artists frolic on a beach in flirty new clip for follow-up to smash ‘Dilemma.’ By Jayson Rodriguez Nelly and Kelly Rowland on the set of the video for “Gone” Photo: Denise Truscello/ WireImage Nelly could have been channeling Rick James on his Teena Marie -featuring classic “Fire & Desire” when the St. Louis rapper first sets eyes on Kelly Rowland in his latest video for “Gone”: “It’s really good to see you again and I must admit you’re looking really nice these days,” James says, and Nelly seems to echo those sentiments in the brand-new clip, which leaked on Tuesday (March 8). (Check out photos of Nelly and Kelly Rowland on the set of “Gone.”) The pair reconnect on the Jin Jonsin-produced (and Rico Love-penned) track from Nelly’s 5.0, a reunion for the artists, who scored a hit years ago on 2002’s “Dilemma.” In the video, Nelly and Rowland are both vacationing on an island resort, when the rapper spots the singer lounging out in the sun and is stopped in his tracks. Throughout the visual, they take turns not only crooning to each other but also pining for the other. “I don’t want to say it’s a sequel. I don’t want to diminish anything with ‘Dilemma’ or have an expectation you can’t live up to when you do that,” Nelly told MTV News last year about “Gone.” “When you do that type of thing, there’s people who are already, ‘I don’t wanna hear it. It’s supposed to be “Dilemma.” ‘ You already being negative [before] pushing the button! “It’s one of those things where we did reconnect,” he continued. “Our chemistry has already proven to be good, whether it was onstage or in the studio. It was something that we wanted to reconnect with. It was produced by Jim Jonsin. … It’s a cool joint. I think people will get it. It can never be ‘Dilemma,’ but we wanted to extend the story. It’s continuing the story a little bit more, seeing her again.” Are you happy to see Nelly and Kelly together again in the “Gone” video? Tell us in the comments! Ashlee Simpson And Pete Wentz Headed To Court In Custody Case

Divorcing couple are engaged in battle over 2-year-old son Bronx. By Gil Kaufman Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz in 2008 Photo: Getty Images The amicable split between Pete Wentz and soon-to-be ex-wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz appears to be taking a slightly less friendly turn. The couple, who separated earlier this year and seemed to be on good terms, appear to be headed to court to resolve a brewing custody dispute over their 2-year-old son, Bronx. (See photos of Ashlee Simpson And Pete Wentz throughout the years.) According to TMZ , Wentz filed papers on Monday in response to Simpson’s divorce petition. The former Fall Out Boy bassist asked that a judge grant joint physical and legal custody of their son and requested that each spouse pay their own legal fees. The gossip site also claimed to have obtained a copy of the divorce petition, in which lawyers for Simpson-Wentz checked a box indicating that she wanted primary physical custody of the toddler and that she wanted Wentz to pay her legal fees as well. The Wentz form lists May 16, 2008, as the date of their marriage and February 9, 2011, as the date of their separation. When news of the divorce broke last month, sources close to the couple said they were intent on riding out the split peacefully and putting their focus on Bronx’s well-being. “It’s very amicable. They’re on very friendly terms and speaking — it’s fine,” an insider told People magazine at the time. “They’ve just grown apart. They’ve been growing apart for quite some time.” The source added that parenting their toddler remained their top priority. “It’s all about Bronx for them. They’re fantastic parents — Pete says she’s a great mom, and she says he’s a great father,” the insider said. “It’s about Bronx’s care and well-being and happiness for them.” Insiders have also echoed the “growing apart” reasoning to TMZ, adding that their respective careers — Simpson has largely eschewed the spotlight since 2008’s Bittersweet World, while Wentz has dabbled in fashion and piloted other musical projects — wedged them apart. “After Bronx was born, Ashlee made a conscious decision to get out of the business, but Pete’s heart was in music so he kept touring and that became a big issue in their relationship,” the source added. While insiders have maintained the split is drama-free , TMZ reports that Simpson left because of Wentz’s antics. “It’s really all about Pete’s erratic behavior,” the source said. “She really wanted out.” Related Photos Pete Wentz And Ashlee Simpson: The Way They Were Related Artists Ashlee Simpson Fall Out Boy

Hide Ya Kids, Hide Ya Wife: Teenage Gangbanger To Be Tried As An Adult After Murking Mother and Child

Damn this sounds like the kind of story you would see in a LA gang flick. Since when did gangbanging in New York become cool!?!? The feds are prosecuting a teen gang member as an adult in the execution-style slayings of a young Long Island woman and her 2-year-old son, the Daily News has learned. A Salvadoran member of the notorious MS-13 gang, who was 17 years old at the time, lured a mother and her child to a Central Islip industrial park last February and, in the coldest of cold-blooded murders, they were shot in the head, the feds say. A judge gave prosecutors the unusual go-ahead to bring murder in aid of racketeering charges against the thug – similar to what they would slap a mobster with for carrying out a hit, court papers reveal. “It is hard to imagine a more compelling case for transfer to adult status,” Federal Judge Joseph Bianco wrote in his ruling. “The juvenile justice system, including the limited sentencing options…is simply ill-equipped and woefully insufficient under the circumstances of this case, to adequately address in the interest of justice these most grave charges.” WHY did this deranged son-of-a-b*tch execute these kids you ask? After she had a falling-out with the shooter, Argueta asked members of the L.A.-based 18th Street Gang, a rival to his MS-13 with tentacles across America, to beat him up. Both are Latino gangs. She gave her ex-beau’s address in Suffolk County to local members of the 18th St. Gang posse. The ex told the 17-year-old MS-13 member about the beef and they decided Argueta and her toddler, Diego, must die, the feds allege. Argueta was shot in the head and the chest; little Diego was shot twice in the head. Gangbanging is stupid enough as is, but killing women and children over a lover’s quarrel…we gotta do better people. Source

Amber Portwood’s Baby Now Indiana’s Problem

Teen Mom star Amber Portwood’s daughter is now a ward of the state of Indiana, meaning her guardianship is determined by a judge and government agency. It’s the latest, most dramatic development yet in the ongoing saga of the MTV star, whose troubled, often violent life has played out on the popular MTV show. Portwood and former fiance Gary Shirley appeared in an Anderson, Ind., courtroom Tuesday for an emergency child placement hearing concerning Leah. It’s official. Indiana has wrested control of Leah from Amber . As the Department of Child Services assesses Leah’s living situation, Leah, 2, remains under the state’s control, even though she is staying with Shirley. The Indiana Department of Child Services also supervised Amber Portwood’s most recent visit with Leah at Gary’s house, taking place Tuesday after court. Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley declined to comment outside court. Gary and Amber, whose violent altercations (which are basically one-sided, with him taking the pounding) appeared extremely friendly toward each other. DCS will monitor Amber’s progress in the wake of her felony battery charges , and determine if Gary’s home is suitable for Leah to remain in permanently. DCS has been probing Leah’s living situation at Shirley’s house and asked for changes that Shirley will comply with, one source close to the matter said. Under Indiana law, if a child is found to be a “child in need of services” (CHINS) the child then becomes a ward of the state, which happened in this case. Portwood gave Leah to Shirley recently, believing the toddler would be better off with him right now, given the demons she’s battling. It was for the best. Hopefully Clinton Yunker is there to comfort her in this tough time.

Eminem Declares ‘I’m Back!’ With Roaring Epicenter Concert

Detroit MC puts on an energizing set, as Big Boi, DMX, House of Pain, Bush, KISS and more hit the stage on day 1 of eclectic California rock festival. By Ryan J. Downey Eminem (file) Photo: Michael Caulfield/ WireImage FONTANA, California – Detroit descended upon California as Eminem made a triumphant return to the West Coast at the Epicenter 2010 Festival on Saturday. Marshall Mathers performed just before fellow Motor City mavens KISS, and what the rapper lacked in pyro he more than made up in fanfare. Still one of the biggest-selling artists in the world, Epicenter was one of only a handful of concerts Em put on in 2010. Cali happily welcomed Eminem back, roaring, dancing and rapping their approval. Epicenter’s first of two days was marked by sweltering heat in the 100s and a handful of performers whose absence from the stage was even longer than Slim Shady’s self-imposed hiatus. 1990s alt-rockers Bush, featuring frontman (and Gwen Stefani’s husband) Gavin Rossdale, made the fest their first major show in nine years, while House of Pain made it their first in 12 years. Oft-troubled rapper DMX rapped for a VIP-only audience. Sponsored by Los Angeles rock station KROQ, Epicenter is only in its second year and is the brainchild of the same veteran music-industry trio who put together Rock on the Range in the Midwest and Canada. Last year’s lineup included Tool, Linkin Park and Alice in Chains. This year, Epicenter moved to the parking lot of the expansive Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, part of California’s Inland Empire. The first major player to hit the main stage was one half of the mega-selling progressive hip-hop duo Outkast. Big Boi emerged in the afternoon, after opening sets from Hollywood Undead-spinoff Deuce and keyboard-heavy L.A. trio Crash Kings. Big Boi’s DJ complained about the heat nearly melting his vinyl, but the Atlanta MC smoothly mixed solo tracks into an otherwise Outkast-leaning set that included some freestyling. Papa Roach may not sell as many records as they used to, but the band received a heroes’ welcome the second they hit the stage. They’ve updated their look, too, trading the nu-metal garb for skinny jeans, hipster sneakers and longer hair, all of which suits them. They unleashed a dirtier, darker side than was apparent on their earliest hits, and frontman Jacoby Shadix was the consummate showman, leaving fans hanging on his every hand motion. “Last Resort” closed the set, sounding appropriately more raw and energized than the version on their major label debut. Gavin Rossdale may have dabbled with the band Institute and a solo career, but at Epicenter, the singer/guitarist got back to Bush, performing the music that put him all over the radio in the ’90s and touring with an opening act called No Doubt. Back then, Bush became one of the first bands to capitalize on the mainstream doors blown down by Nirvana. Bush hail from England, not Seattle, but grunge motifs are all over their numerous hits, many of which they played: among them “Machinehead,” “Swallowed,” “Everything Zen,” “Glycerine” (which Rossdale belted out solo with an acoustic guitar) and a set-closing “Come Down.” The sun mercifully went down as the second stage prepared for hip-hop headliners House of Pain, who came on after Kinda Major, Smile Empty Soul, the Knux and Big B warmed up the crowd. It’s been an eventful journey for rapper/singer Everlast, who began his career as a scrappy solo artist, found fame with House of Pain and their massive hit “Jump Around,” before reinventing himself as a guitar-slinging country/rap troubadour after suffering a surprise heart attack. Everlast had his guitar for most of the set as he led a full band (drums, bass, keys and a horn section!) flanked by Danny “Danny Boy” O’Connor. The pair rapped House of Pain songs like “Shamrocks and Shenanigans,” “On Point,” “Put Yer Head Out” and, of course, “Jump Around” over a variety of familiar songs, including the beats made famous by Dr. Dre’s “The Next Episode” and Tupac’s “California Love,” all during a rousing and lively set that included a dedication to Gang Starr’s late MC, Guru . There was also an appearance by members of their most recent project, La Coka Nostra. Expectation was palpable for Eminem’s first West Coast concert appearance this year. Video screens projected a message written as if it were taken from news headlines. The text spelled out the dark period in Eminem’s career, when retirement seemed a possibility, before heralding his triumphant return. Looking healthy and ready for battle, Eminem was backed by huge production (including several clever, stylized videos that played throughout), a hype man, a band, and even D12 for a short medley. Like his September stadium shows with Jay-Z, Eminem kept the song selection diverse, drawing from newer material and classic tracks like “The Way I Am.” The show kicked off with “Won’t Back Down” and “3 a.m.,” setting the tone for the rest of the performance. “I’m back, man,” he told the crowd early in the set. “You miss me? I missed y’all.” He led the crowd in a “Free Lil Wayne” chant as he launched into “No Love.” Em asked the crowd if they had ever “had beef” with their parents just before “Cleaning Out My Closet.” A “Big Proof Forever” message was displayed on the screen when the rest of his Detroit crew D12, including a shirtless Bizarre, flooded the stage for tracks like “Fight Music.” Cell phones and lighters were raised high during the Aerosmith-sampling “Sing for the Moment.” It was a long marathon of quality tracks during which Em proved to have as much stamina as ever, despite his lack of touring. Sandwiched right between the night’s biggest acts, DMX gave the tiny VIP tent something incredible to remember when he banged out hits like “Party Up in Here,” as well as one new track. The Ruff Ryder looked to be in good health and grateful for the audience’s enthusiasm. He made several references to his faith, thanking and praising God profusely. What can you say about KISS that hasn’t been said? The band closed the night with pyrotechnics and dependable spectacle. There’s the makeup, the production, the costumes, the stunts, the constant marketing of everything from condoms to Dr. Pepper, sure, but you know what else? There’s the songs! KISS, who have been together for close to 40 years, crafted a catalog at their height that includes lean, mean, muscular rock anthems like “God of Thunder,” “Detroit Rock City” and the ubiquitous “Rock N’ Roll All Night.” Founding members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss are both gone, but Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons still tear it up live for their the KISS Army, and Epicenter was no exception. Drummer Eric Singer has of course been part of the KISS family for a longtime and Thommy Thayer does an admirable job of filling Space Ace’s shoes, guitar effects and all. Sunday (September 26), the second and last day of the outdoor festival, will feature Blink-182 in their only North American appearance this year, alongside Rise Against, Bad Religion, Against Me! and more. Katy Perry Lampoons ‘Sesame Street’ Flap On ‘Saturday Night Live’

Singer pokes fun at drama playing a developed teen in ‘Bronx Beat’ sketch. By Mawuse Ziegbe Katy Perry performs on ‘SNL’ Sept. 25 Photo: NBC The 36th season of “Saturday Night Live” kicked off by spotlighting a bunch of familiar faces, introducing some new ones and, of course, putting a comic stamp on the latest pop-culture controversies. The show’s signature opening monologue, this time delivered by “Parks and Recreation” star and “SNL” alum Amy Poehler, featured a trippy dream sequence in which the comedienne stressed about pulling off a successful host stint. The sketch was packed with blasts from the show’s past including Rachel Dratch, who gets hauled off by a polar bear, and ex-“Weekend Update” anchors Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon who show up to bully Poehler. “The Social Network” star Justin Timberlake pops up at one point to plant a kiss on Poehler and then blab about her sub-par smooching skills. Timberlake returns later to lampoon his recent Hollywood gigs in the sketch “Actor II Actor” with Andy Samberg, in which the funnyman bluntly asks the singer-turned-actor, “When you gonna make some more music?” Timberlake then flexed his acting chops by storming off in a faux rage. The show’s “Weekend Update” sketches also boasted highlights, including a dead-on impression of Will Smith by newcomer Jay Pharoah, replete with random shouts of “Woo!” as the comic touted the Smiths’ talented brood. Fred Armisen busted out his bumbling impersonation of embattled New York Governor David Paterson, ragging on upstate New York and dishing on current gubernatorial candidates, Andrew Cuomo and Carl Paladino. Then, the real Governor Paterson rolled behind the desk, taking jabs at Armisen’s impression and critiquing him for still rocking a beard. “I shaved that off a year ago, are you blind?” the sight-challenged politician quipped, before comparing “SNL” to Albany, saying, “There’s a lot of characters, it’s funny for 10 minutes [but] then you just want it to go away.” Katy Perry didn’t say much during her “SNL” cameo but she may have had one of the most memorable comedic turns of the night. The singer, who recently battled drama over a “Sesame Street” clip that was deemed too racy for the toddler set, bounded into a “Bronx Beat” sketch helmed by Poehler and fellow ex-castmember Maya Rudolph. Playing a bosomy teen named Maureen Dichico who’s been causing a lot of “hullabaloo” at the local library due to her blossoming figure, Perry fielded exclamations from the chatty duo like, “Honey, you’ve exploded! Kaboom!” The pair addressed Perry’s choice of attire — a low-cut t-shirt emblazoned with “Sesame Street” resident Elmo — with barbs like, “Look at Elmo, his head’s all stretched out!” Later, the ladies quip “Who cares if kids are looking at boobs? Boobs feed babies,” a wink at the controversy, which sparked whoops from the audience. Perry also hit the stage throughout the show, first rocking her summer jam “California Gurls.” Although she worked the Snoop Dogg-assisted smash solo, she made up for the Doggfather’s absence by tricking out the set with lots of pretend sweets and mounds of fake cotton candy. Clutching a bling-laden mic and sporting a snug, bon-bon-studded minidress, Perry vamped it up as dancers in pink bra tops and bewigged singers grooved behind her. She later returned for her single “Teenage Dream,” this time opting for a sexed-up schoolgirl outfit with a sequined tie, tight blouse and tiny tartan skit. Perry began the performance with some a cappella belting and continued to display some powerhouse vocals as her back-up crew bobbed about in cheerleader and football-player outfits. As fog rolled across the stage and her band and dancers worked it in their campy high-school costumes, Perry ripped the final notes of the song and wrapped up the performance with a wink. Time Compiles ‘Best Viral Campaign Ads of 2010’, Pans Most of the Republican Entries

It was inevitable that someone with enough time on their hands would compile a list of the best viral campaign video ads of 2010 . There sure have been some doozies this year, so I can’t fault Time magazine for including hits like “Demon Sheep” and the Dale Peterson ad in their top 20 list. That said, of the 15 Republican ads in the list, most were panned by Time staffers. By contrast, two Democrats’ ads — Rep. Tom Perreillo (Va.) and  Sen. Pat Leahy (Vt.) primary opponent Dan Freilich — were panned,  yet neither candidate’s Democratic affiliation was mentioned in the blurbs about the ads. By contrast, Democratic Rep. Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin (S.D.), who’s presenting herself to voters as a fiscal conservative , was praised for an ad featuring her toddler son, and Time’s FeiFei Sun cheered Colorado Democratic gubernatorial nominee John Hickenlooper for his “Clean Campaign” in which he humorously promised to eschew negative campaign ads. Sun did get in a few digs at the infamous Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) , whose anti-Republican attack ad she labeled as “hyperbolic,” but she also joked that James Cameron should direct feature-length versions of his campaign ads.  By contrast, a Republican primary candidate hoping to spar against Grayson in November, Dan Fanelli, was roundly denounced by writer Katy Steinmetz for his “terrorist profiling ad”: We can’t tell if Florida congressional candidate Dan Fanelli is being serious with this ad. He opens with some pretty intense racial profiling he points to a nerdy white guy and a stacked Arab guy, and asks which one looks like a terrorist. Then he moves on to deluded narcissism. Grinning, Fanelli approaches the camera and says, “Let’s face it. If a good-looking, ripped guy without much hair was flying airplanes into the Twin Towers, I’d have no problem being pulled out of line at the airport.” Sorry, Dan; you might be as bald as Bruce Willis, but you’re lacking in just about every other department.

Crystal Bowersox’s Friend Calls ‘American Idol’ Success ‘Surreal’

Nathan Woodward, who has gone to L.A. for an ‘Idol’ live show, works at a bar where Bowersox used to play. By Gil Kaufman Crystal Bowersox Photo: Jesse Grant/ WireImage MAUMEE, Ohio — This time last year, Nathan Woodward could step out of the kitchen at the Village Idiot bar/ pizza restaurant and walk right up to the front of the stage to watch Crystal Bowersox perform. Now, even when he flies out to Los Angeles to see her rock the stage on “American Idol,” he can’t get nearly as close as he could back in the good old pre-fame days of 2009. Woodward, 36, met Bowersox two years ago at the Idiot, where he bartends and makes pizzas on the weekend and where, on a recent Tuesday night, he was sitting in on organ with the house band after a crowd gathered to cheer Bowersox on during the Frank Sinatra-themed performance night. “I was working in the back making pizzas, and I heard this awesome voice, and I went out and I actually said to the bartender working there, ‘Who is this?’ ” recalled Woodward, who stood behind the bar next to Frankie May, Bowersox’s old friend and bass player, to watch that night’s performances. “I had to come out from the back of the kitchen because, when I heard her sing, I got goose bumps,” he said. “We have a lot of good bands come through here, and when somebody stands out like that, you have to go say to the other employees, ‘This is awesome. We’ve really got something here. It’s spectacular.’ ” From that point on, Woodward and Bowersox became good friends, and he did his best to encourage other people to come out and listen to her sing. “Toledo is a weird town. … We have really good bands in here, and a lot of times nobody shows up,” he said of the Idiot, which has music every night of the week, alternating between local bands and national acts who take to the low stage in front of a tall window that faces the picturesque downtown streets of the Toledo suburb. “So when she played here [and] there was nobody in the bar — there’d be eight, 10 people — we would call people and say, ‘You have gotta come in here and see her play. She’s amazing.’ ” Even with those calls, though, Woodward said the crowds never even approached the 50 to 60 people who showed up on Tuesday night to cheer Bowersox on. Though they’ve stayed in touch over the years, and he took her to see Phish when she lived in Chicago — as well as going out to L.A. to see her on “Idol” in April — Woodward said seeing his friend on the biggest show on TV is still a mind-bender. “[It’s] the most incredible thing you can imagine,” he said. “It’s like, it doesn’t … it’s surreal. It’s not that I see somebody I know being a superstar; it’s seeing somebody I know doing something really, really great and the way that she fights back with the judges, it’s totally her, it’s her personality. She’s like, ‘Take me or leave me.’ It’s really cool.” What you see of Bowersox on TV is what you get, and that’s exactly the same person Woodward got to know. He described Crystal as a sweet, nice person who will not hesitate to tell you exactly what she thinks, which is why he relishes her back-and-forth with the judges every week. “I think that’s what makes her so great, and I think that’s one of the reasons why she’s doing well on the show,” he said of her feisty personality. “I think the reason the audience is reacting the way they are is because they see somebody who is just a genuine person going out there with a great voice and singing great songs and doing the best thing that she can.” Even after backing her up for much of last year — including numerous Village Idiot shows — and doing some studio sessions with her, bass player Frankie May is also a bit stunned at how far his friend has come. “I never doubted that she had the talent to do it,” said May, 28, a quiet, intense musician with a bald head, chin piercing and intense eyes whose father, Bob May, is one of Bowersox’s musical mentors. “But everyone was saying that she’s not that bold … and she’s kinda breaking it, and it’s a wonderful thing.” May said he texts with Bowersox and talks to her on the phone pretty regularly, and while they don’t talk much about “Idol,” he can tell that despite missing her toddler son and her denials of reported cold feet about staying on the show, she’s aware of what a great opportunity the show is for a young single mother. “She’s sticking with it. … She’s strong,” he said.
