Source: Tim Mosenfelder / Getty Nelly wants the case thrown out. The St. Louis rapper is hoping a judge dismisses a lawsuit brought against him by a British woman who claimed he raped her in England. Report the Associated Press : The federal lawsuit was filed in November in St. Louis, the rapper’s hometown. The woman accuses Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Haynes Jr., of assaulting her in a dressing room at the concert venue in Essex in December 2017. Nelly hasn’t been criminally charged and has denied the allegations. The woman is identified only as Jane Doe in the lawsuit. Nelly’s attorney, Scott Rosenblum, filed a response to the lawsuit Thursday, arguing that the woman shouldn’t be allowed to remain anonymous and “avoid public scrutiny.” The woman alleges that she paid to have her photo taken with the 44-year-old rapper after the concert before he took her to a separate room and sexually assaulted her. The woman’s attorney, Karen Koehler, said the woman reported the incident to police more than a year ago and she believes the investigation is ongoing. Essex police didn’t immediately respond to an after-hours phone message from The Associated Press seeking information Friday. If this sounds familiar, Nelly settled a similar lawsuit (the accuser claims there was a settlement, the rapper lawyers say it was dismissed) in September 2018 from a woman who claimed he raped her on his tour bus. Hailey Baldwin is married to Justin and cannot wait to pop out a bunch of Bieber babies . She’s not the only one excited about her new marriage. Justin’s mom, Pattie, shared a selfie to show how over the moon she is about her new daughter-in-law. Pattie Mallette, mother of Justin Bieber, shared this sweet and cozy selfie with Hailey Baldwin, wife of Justin Bieber. “What a gift,” Pattie captioned this cozy pic with her daughter-in-law. She followed those words with a heart eyes emoji. In the photo, Hailey appears to be planting a delicate kiss on Pattie’s cheek. Hailey herself commented under the Instagram post. “Love you,” she wrote. Awww! Justin and Hailey married late last year, but were private about it — though they of course knew that it was not a secret. People reports that they’re planning an actual wedding ceremony … but some of the details are still up in the air. “They’ve been figuring out the perfect time to do it,” the insider says. “And they both feel like the sooner, the better.” If you’re looking forward to some sort of heavily tattooed version of the Royal Wedding, think again. They don’t know the details, but what they’re planning will be small and intimate, for family and friends. “They’re still figuring it out,” the source notes. Not all of Justin’s choices have been every mother’s fondest wish. That goes for one of his very recent decisions, too. Justin Bieber now has a face tattoo. In cursive (making it unreadable to people who weren’t forced to learn that archaic script), his tattoo says “grace.” As far as facial tattoos go, this one doesn’t sound too bad. It’s along the ridge of his eyebrow and is fairly subtle. And since we’re talking about the Biebs, it’s not like he needs to worry about not getting hired over the tat. Grace can have a number of meanings, but in this context, it is undoubtedly rooted in Justin’s Christian faith. Being devout Christians is one of the things that Justin and Hailey have in common. After they renewed their romance in the summer of 2018, Justin was seen taking Hailey on what have been characterized as “church dates.” In 2017, Justin felt a religious calling to cancel his tour early. He has been working harder and harder to devote himself to his beliefs. Grace is not the only tattoo of his that is rooted in Christianity. Faith is one of the things that make Hailey such a good match for Justin his his mother’s eyes, too. Justin’s outspoken religiousity may have waxed and waned before recent years, but he got his beliefs from his mother. Pattie has been known to post what we would characterize as “End Times materials” on social media. Hailey also inherited some Christian views from her father, Stephen Baldwin. Unlike her dad, however, Hailey is not a Trump-supporter, and believes that her faith mandates that she love people rather than despise them. Justin and Hailey’s marriage was controversial in part because some perceived it to be a rebound relationship. Justin had just split with his other ex, Selena Gomez, before he and Hailey started being spotted together everywhere. But people should remember that Justin and Hailey have years of history together,a nd that not all of that history was public knowledge. So his proposal after just a few weeks was a surprise, but not totally shocking. They’re both young, hot, and have a lot in common. It’s no wonder that Pattie approves. Last week, the mothers of Omarion and Fizz’s children had some serious internet beef, but presently the fathers seem to be pushing forward. Omarion and Fizz appeared in a commercial for B2K’s Millenium Tour this weekend. Many speculated over whether personal issues would stop the tour from happening after Apryl Jones and Moneice Slaughter bickered online. Moniece had accused the mother of Omarion’s kids, Apryl, of sleeping with his B2K band member and her baby daddy Fizz. Moniece also alleged that Fizz used drugs and abused their son while sneaking around with his new girlfriend. These accusations ere explosive and worried folks wanting to see the group in concert. But, no worries! Omarion and Fizz sat for promo, without issue. Or are they just putting this issue aside until later? What do you think about these seating arrangements? According to Page Six the Fugees songstress pleased fans during a stop of her Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 20th-anniversary tour. Hill apparently was only fashionably late to her London concert at the O2 Arena on Monday. Reporter for British periodical The Independent Roison Connor wrote “‘She’s on time!’ A ripple of excitement has just gone through the O2 Arena. The lights have dimmed, and Lauryn Hill is as about as ‘on time’ as she’ll ever be – just 20 minutes late.” Apart from being somewhat punctual her rendition of her classic album was well received by ticket goers. Connor penned that “the former Fugees member’s free-jazz approach to the live set is often scattershot, but it makes the set feel loose and relaxed rather than messy.” The improved showing came to her fans and the public alike as a pleasant surprise. Over the last five or so years Hill has built a reputation for starting her sets very late , upwards to almost two hours behind schedule. Additionally the rumor is that since she was sued by the album’s ghost producers and lost in 2001 she is not allowed to perform original songs. Thus Ms. Hill has been playing renditions that ticket goers claimed sound nothing like the versions they grew up to. She has about 20 shows left in the tour, let’s see if she can keep it together. According to the Associate Press , that the figures include sales and pre-orders for the former first lady’s memoir include hardcover, audio and e-books editions for the United States and Canada. The book follows Obama’s journey from Chicago’s South Side to the White House, and many reviews have been positive. The Washington Post praised it as “impressive balance in telling the truth of her challenges while repeatedly acknowledging her lucky life.” The book was released earlier this week and Crown (publisher) also announced that it had raised the book’s print run from 1.8 million copies to 2.6 million following the successful release. “Becoming” had the biggest opening of any books in 2018 by Crown’s parent company (Penguin Random House).

Cole who many would argue will soon be eclipsed by the East Atlanta native if his work ethic remains consistent and his pen remains syringe sharp. J.I.D’s introductory Dreamville release, The Never Story , captivated many an ear in 2017 and 2018 looks to be another year of grabbing listeners by the earlobe and holding them hostage to the arresting frequency of his music. J.I.D’s first two releases from DiCaprio 2, “151 Rum” and “Off Deez” featuring the aforementioned J. Cole are “attention-grabbers”, but as he explains to BOSSIP, there is much more in store. Jah : On The Never Story ‘s “Somebody” you rapped that your sound was “nothin’ particular”, however, the first two singles from DiCaprio 2 seem to have a very intentional sound. Is that what we can expect from DiCaprio 2? J.I.D : Those two songs are just attention-grabbers. I kinda did the same thing with The Never Story . I dropped the song “Never” and I dropped the song “Underwear” which came out about a week before and I dropped a song called “Bruh” with the same energy, but there’s super variations on [this] project, there’s nothing that sounds like those two songs. They’re back to back on the project, they have a section off where they belong. The project is sectioned off. There’s not one complete sound. It’s called DiCaprio 2 because it’s like a movie so each song is an individual film. Jah : Talk about your development as an artist. We know you and Earthgang (another Atlanta-based group signed to Dreamville) lived together and you weren’t always making music. J.I.D: : We were putting in hours every day. It was a competition between each other. And then we was trying to pay rent so n****s was working at Chipotle, Domino’s, cleaning up rat traps, whatever to get some money so we could pay at the end of the month to have lights and record. That’s where the development came from, just doing odd shows in Atlanta, just keeping our blinders on just like a horse in downtown New York. Jah : Speaking of competitive, Cole names you as the closest MC to his skill set on “Off Deez”. Did you know you were going to put him on the song when you first made it? If so, did you write your verse competitively to make sure you outdid him? J.I.D : I record everything by myself at the crib. I record in a secluded environment with just one other person, my composer. So I did it and I sent it to him. No, I didn’t send it to him first. I sent it to–I sent it to Kendrick [Lamar] first (laughs). Facts! That’s 100% what happened. I sent it Kendrick first. Long shot, Kendrick was going on the Championship Tour so it was just a long shot. I knew it wasn’t gonna happen and it’s understandable because he’s a superstar and has obligations. I sent it through the proper channels it just didn’t work out, but he f***ed with it. I made it the around the time of the XXL freestyle back in maybe April. I played if for Ski Mask The Slump God but he got busy and I know the situation with X (the shooting death of XXXTentacion) affected him a lot. Then I sent it to Cole like, “You f**k with this record? It’s hard, right? I’m bout to kill it and do the second verse” and he’s like “Hey, save me a lil’ piece on there” and like, “What? You wanna get on this one?” And we got s**t, but he was just moved when he heard it. None. He talks with the confidence of a man who is undefeated in bar fights at his local pub. With all the humility that emotes from his serrated-yet-subdued voice he lets us know that he’s not one to be trifled with on the microphone. “If you look at my songs and the stuff I put out, I don’t think I ever went last. I do that s**t and I let n****s have it. Beat it, if you can. If I ever go last. If I ever hear a n***a verse first, its over. You gonna go back and change that. I’m not changing s**t. I do my work and I keep it moving. I respect all artists. I’m not saying there’s no one better. There’s somebody out there right now that like, n***a…I was the guy and I’m still that guy. I’ll walk up to anybody like “N***a, you are FIRE!” J.I.D recently credited Beyoncé with inspiring him to create the hook for “Off Deez” and we asked him about the other ways that Black women have inspired him in his life. “I got three sisters and my mom,” J.I.D says thoughtfully, “My sisters are three different type of strong, smart women. All different types of strong, all different types of smart. They showed me strength and I never noticed that. My dad taught me, you know, ‘You’re a boy. You have to do…’, but my sisters and my mom are definitely tougher than me and all my brothers.” You can tell by the manner in which he speaks about the women in his life that J.I.D has been a very grounded and empathetic person long before he became a rap star. “S**t that they been through, s**t that I’ve seen them do, they all had babies and they all figured out life. Women have a different power that’s hard to tap into as a man because we got it lil’ bit easier. The whole giving birth aspect, the whole God creating life aspect goes hand-in-hand to me. A ndrew Gillum at first appeared to have lost Florida’s race for governor to Ron DeSantis . But now, for the first time ever in a Florida governor race, there will be a recount. In Florida, an automatic recount is triggered when there’s a lead of less than one half of a percentage. If the margin of victory is under one-quarter of a percentage point, a hand recount is ordered. “The Florida race for Governor is now in the range where a legal recount is required,” activist Shaun King wrote on Twitter. “The national news media never should’ve called this race in the first place. @ AndrewGillum can still win & tens of thousands of votes are outstanding.
