Tracy Morgan did not go home with any Emmy Awards last night, but the actor confirmed on the red carpet that he was a winner before even arriving at the event. That’s because the 30 Rock star is engaged to Megan Wallover! Morgan confirmed to Ryan Seacrest that the agreement was actually reached “six months ago,” while Wallover said the couple was in San Francisco when the comedian got down on “bended knee” and didn’t pop the most important question via any kind of crazy antic. It was “pretty traditional,” she said. This will be the second marriage for Morgan. He and his ex-wife, Sabrina, filed for divorce in 2009 and have three sons together. [Photo: WENN.com]

The NYC cop drama/thriller Son of No One set up quite a bubble for itself ahead of the 2011 Sundance Film Festival: Talented filmmaker Dito Montiel ( A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints , Fighting ) had his muse Channing Tatum spearheading a cast including Al Pacino, Juliette Binoche, Katie Holmes, Ray Liotta and, going straight, Tracy Morgan, creds that helped the movie earn the festival’s prestigious closing-night spot. And then came that notorious press and industry screening, piercing the bubble and hurling Son into indie limbo. Art-house ensemble piece or genre potboiler? Misunderstood gem or biggest swing-and-miss of 2011? And while I’d never suggest judging a film by its trailer, the latest spot does prompt the necessary question asked of all marketing: Does this preview actually make you want to see Son of No One ? That’s where things get complicated.

Seriously, Newsweek ? We know sales have been abysmal and you were on the verge of going under a few months ago, but this seems like an extreme way to generate headlines. The latest issue of this magazine features a digitally-altered photo of Princess Diana, imaging what she would look like at age 50, and places it alongside Kate Middleton, as if the two are old pals out for a stroll. It’s an eerie attempt to bring the dead back to life, and to put even more pressure on the beautiful head of Prince William’s bride than already exists. Editor Tina Brown, who penned the cover story, says of her vision of Diana: “There is no doubt she would have kept her chin taut with strategic Botox shots and her bare arms buff from the gym. Remarriage? At least two, I suspect, on both sides of the Atlantic.” Hypothesizing about what this icon would be doing if tragedy hadn’t struck in 1997? Juxtaposing a photoshopped version of her on the sidewalk with Middleton? Do you find this blatant attention-grab to be in poor taste?

Having apologized multiple times for his controversial stand-up routine in Nashville, Tracy Morgan returned to the stage a few days ago… … and proceeded to get himself in more trouble. Performing in New York City, the 30 Rock star warned audience members not to “mess with women who have retarded kids” because “them young retarded males is strong. They’re strong like chimps.” As the crowd groaned, Morgan joked about hooking up with “a cripple.” In response to these remarks, Peter Berns – CEO of The Arc, a nonprofit organization that serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities – has issued the following statement: “Tracy Morgan should apologize immediately. This quote is far too offensive to be excused as comedy, and it is very hurtful to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Mr. Morgan has an incredibly powerful platform from which to fix this, and if he’s learned anything in the last few weeks, he can’t bomb this apology.” Should Morgan apologize for these new jokes?

For the first time since he caused an uproar in Nashville, and then proceeded to make a round of apologies and appearances , Tracy Morgan took to the stage on Saturday night for a stand-up routine. He appeared on stage at Caroline’s in NYC and immediately told the audience he was gonna be “mellow.” But that’s far from the style that has made the 30 Rock star famous, of course, as went on deliver jokes about masturbation, ejaculation, the female anatomy and other topics that had the crowd in stitches. About 45 minutes in, Morgan said: “You’re all sitting here waiting for me say something about the controversy, right? I’m 42, man, and now all of a sudden I’m homophobic?” He then joked: “My father was the lead singer in the Village People. I would sing the ‘Y.M.C.A.’ the loudest. I was sitting right there when he wrote the song.” Morgan shied away from any overt references to homosexuality, but he did re-tell a different joke to which Kevin Rodgers – the Facebook poster who originally called attention to the comedian’s rant earlier this month, and who hugged it out with Tracy during a recent press confrence – objected a few weeks ago. Regarding the joy of making women choke during oral sex, he riffed: “You gotta make that mascara run.” Witnesses say Morgan was mostly himself during the set – still unpredictable, still raunchy – and concluded the routine with the following message: “Gay, straight… I don’t care. As long as you’re happy.” [Photo: WENN.com]

RHCP will film ‘The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie’ clip with up-and-coming ‘Gucci Gucci’ rapper. By James Montgomery Kreayshawn Photo: Michelle Crowe The Red Hot Chili Peppers ‘ debut album was released in 1984, a full five years before Bay Area “based goddess” Kreayshawn made her debut as a human being. Yet that’s not stopping the two sides from joining forces on RHCP’s new “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie” video, which Kreay will direct. That’s according to reps for each act’s respective labels (Warner Bros. and Columbia), who confirmed the collaboration to MTV News. “Maggie” is the first single from the Chili Peppers’ much-anticipated I’m With You, their first studio album in more than five years. Details on the video are scarce, and while the idea of Kreayshawn — the rapper who recently became the subject of an intense bidding war between labels thanks to her Internet smash “Gucci Gucci” — directing a video for the Red Hot Chili Peppers might seem like a rather interesting choice for the iconic group, she’s actually been making clips for years (mostly notably for Lil B) and reportedly attended the Berkeley film school. In fact, part of the reason Kreayshawn decided to ink a deal with Columbia Records was because they agreed to let her continue to make music videos, as she told MTV News earlier this month. “Columbia was the best just because they were like, ‘We want you to do exactly what you’ve been doing,’ which is, like, I’ve been directing music videos, so they were like, ‘We want you to keep doing that,’ ” she said. “You know, I do a little graphic design, and they had me make my own logo, you know?” What do you think about Kreayshawn directing the Chili Peppers’ new video? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Red Hot Chili Peppers
