Diddy-Dirty Money Begin ‘Intimate’ Coming Home Tour

Shows will look ‘as dynamic and as emotional’ as Last Train to Paris sounds, Diddy tells MTV News. By Alvin Blanco, with reporting by Kelley L. Carter Diddy Photo: MTV News Diddy-Dirty Money is making sure their Last Train to Paris album gets an extended shelf life. The Sean “Diddy” Combs-led trio is kicking off their Coming Home Tour on Wednesday (April 13) in Minneapolis. Over his almost 20-year recording career, the Bad Boy Records CEO has grown accustomed to rocking stadiums, but this tour will be hitting small venues during its month-long run. “We wanted to do an intimate tour because it gives you a chance to play to the people that really love your music,” Diddy told MTV News during a rehearsal break. “It’s not as commercial as just going to an arena situation, which after this, we have different arena shows. The whole purpose of this was the reinvention, to do things that I haven’t done before, for me to have new, different experiences and for me to really connect with people. … I think there’s no better way than to go and do an up close and personal tour.” While show locales might be smaller in scale, Diddy-Dirty Money will be backed by a band, and they plan on packing the same emotion and sonic passion found on the Last Train album into their shows. “I just wanted it to look how it sounded,” Diddy said. “As dynamic and as emotional as it sounds, that’s the way it’s going to look. I wanted to give people more than what they bargained for. Because in this viral age, I just wanted to imagine the first five dates and how every city, when people see the show, they’ll be talking about it virally.” Prepping for the shows has shown the group’s other members, singers Dawn Richards and Kalenna Harper, the intense side of Diddy as he makes sure the tour’s stage show is perfect. “The crazy thing about working with Puff is that we’ve learned to work around him, focusing and understanding it’s a learning process,” Harper said. “We’re with somebody who’s been in the industry for 20-some-odd years. So, for him to be focused on what the lights look like, what it should sound like, like he said, ‘Looking out for the bullsh–,’ that’s something for us to pay attention to, and we’re in the group with him.” After numerous delays, Last Train was released in December and landed at #7 on the Billboard albums chart. Most projects start winding down a few months after their release, but this group doesn’t plan to let up anytime soon. “That’s the great thing about this group that I’m really excited about: our work ethic. There’s no such thing as sleep,” Richards said. “For us, this is the fun part. We been locked in the studio for three years trying to figure out what this [album] was going to be like. To finally have it come to pass and then to be able to sit here with the band and hear it live like this is really [exciting] for us.” Will you be seeing the Coming Home Tour? Tell us below! Mary J. Blige Announces My Life Sequel Release Date

Follow-up to MJB’s seminal disc, My Life II, The Story Continues, is set to drop September 20. By Alvin Blanco Mary J. Blige Photo: Brian Ach/ WireImage Fans can mark September 20 as the day that Mary J. Blige returns with her 11th album, My Life II, The Story Continues. By the time of the album’s release — a sequel to Blige’s triple-platinum My Life album — it will be almost two years since the Queen of Hip-Hop/R&B delivered her last project, Stronger With Each Tear. “From me to you, My Life II … our journey together continues in this life,” Blige said in a statement. “It’s a gift to be able to relate and identify with my fans at all times. This album is a reflection of the times and lives of people all around me.” Blige’s sophisticated and sample-driven My Life was released in 1994, and was executive-produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was then going by Puff Daddy. And it’s probably no coincidence that Diddy is featured on the sequel’s lead single, “Someone to Love Me (Naked),” which also features a verse from Lil Wayne. The single’s groove is courtesy of Wyclef Jean’s cousin, the accomplished producer Jerry “Wonder” Duplessis. Other notable producers set to contribute to Blige’s forthcoming album include Kanye West, Stargate (Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow”) and Swizz Beatz. The original version of “Someone to Love Me” appeared on Diddy-Dirty Money’s Last Train to Paris. The version with Blige on it dropped at the top of the year and, at the time, it was thought to be just a remix. But a mastered version is available now on iTunes and although Blige tweeted that the Collin Tilley-directed video would debut April 8, the clip began making the Internet rounds on Monday. Blige has also been cast in the big-screen adaptation of the Broadway musical “Rock of Ages,” which is set to star Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin and Diego Boneta. Related Artists Mary J. Blige

‘Harry Potter’ Epilogue Was ‘Really Weird,’ Bonnie Wright Says

‘Being a mother with three children suddenly when you’re young is quite a big [change],’ she tells MTV News at DVD premiere. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Bonnie Wright attends the opening of Harry Potter: The Exhibiton in New York City Photo: Getty Images For the most devoted “Harry Potter” fans out there, the countdown has already begun in anticipation of the final film release, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.” Over the weekend, we got a sneak peek at Harry Potter: The Exhibition , as well as a few exclusive clips from the “Deathly Hallows, Part 1” DVD/Blu-ray. At the DVD premiere, we asked actress Bonnie Wright about the experience filming the franchise’s highly anticipated “epilogue” sequence , in which all the characters appear as themselves, only 19 years in the future. “It was really weird,” Wright said of seeing herself in makeup made to look like a woman in her 30s. “People said, ‘Don’t worry, you look good for 35!’ ” Wright said the experience was a lot of fun, mostly because she had to embody a completely new aspect of her character, Ginny Weasley-Potter. “Being a mother with three children suddenly when you’re young is quite a big [change],” she said. “It’s strange, because obviously [when] I started, my first scene ever filmed was on the train platform 9 3/4, and then we came back to shoot some more before Christmas, and it was back at platform 9 3/4, so I finished, and it was like this amazing cycle.” Regarding the scenes she’s most looking forward to seeing in the final film, Wright said she’s pumped to see the final battle. “I think I’m mainly looking forward to the epic battle that is to come,” she said. “See[ing] the power of good triumph over evil is going to be satisfying.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Lindsay Lohan Rehab 911 Call: You Gotta Hear It!

This 911 tape offers new insight into the argument that went down between Lindsay Lohan and Betty Ford Center staff member Dawn Holland last December. Holland claims she busted Lindsay and two other girls jumping a wall (yes, really) at Betty Ford around 1 a.m. December 12, after their rehab-imposed curfew. During the 911 call, Lindsay and Dawn were both on the line on separate phones (yes, really). You know the backstory, now hear it for yourself … Lindsay Lohan Rehab 911 Call When Holland, who has since been fired by BF, tried to make the train wreck take a breathalyzer, she says “Lindsay Lohan pushed me and hit me with the phone.” Dawn claims the girls Lindsay was with were drunk, “reeking of alcohol.” During the call, Dawn claims she grabbed the phone to talk to the dispatcher, only to have Lindsay rip the phone away, spraining Dawn’s wrist in the process. Thus the allegations of assault that Dawn made. The Riverside County D.A. took its time investigating, but declined to prosecute Lindsay over the incident. Lindsay Lohan believes the 911 call of the Betty Ford incident backs her version of what went down with Dawn all along, and that she’s been vindicated. She’d already been cleared by the D.A., which is all that really matters, but this is LiLo. Let her celebrate any small victory she can lay claim to, right? Lohan says Dawn was “rude,” “aggressive” and “inappropriate” and that the tape proves she was only after money from the start. Not a huge stretch. Very early in the call Dawn says, “Get ready to be sued.” Lindsay may have won this round of legal battles, but there are bigger ones just ahead. She faces trial for grand theft (the necklace heist) this month.

Jake Gyllenhaal Recalls ‘Debate’ On ‘Source Code’ Set

‘We thought all the time, and that’s what made it so fun,’ he tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Jake Gyllenhaal Photo: MTV News For the skeptical filmgoers out there who love to naysay Hollywood plot twists and turns, the stars and director of “Source Code” want you to know that they’ve already taken any questions and concerns you might have about the story into consideration. The film revolves around Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) on a mission to solve the mystery behind a devastating bombing, via Source Code technology — venturing into the mind of one of the passengers on the train, eight minutes before his death. While director Duncan Jones told MTV News recently that the film requires a “leap of faith,” actor Jake Gyllenhaal promises that any questions you may have were already debated during production. “The entire movie was a debate and the entire movie was also having to ask all the questions that the audience might be asking,” Gyllenhaal revealed. “Which is why I find it so successful that when you watch the movie, you can ask whatever question and think you know the answer, and we’ve already asked it or answered it,” he said, adding that the audience is constantly surprised. “Even if you’ve found out who the bomber is halfway through the movie, you don’t really know what’s going to happen.” Gyllenhaal went on to say that everything came together perfectly in order to execute the story in the most entertaining and interesting way possible. “It’s brilliantly written, it’s very clearly and brilliantly directed, which is so hard with a sci-fi movie and also at the heart of it is a character [for whom] we created a backstory that we thought a lot about,” he explained. “Each piece of his action is connected to what he does and why he does it and his own fate. I think, overall, we thought all the time, and that’s what made it so fun.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Source Code.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . New ‘Super 8’ Trailer’s Five Key Moments

We take a look at the most fascinating scenes featured in the new promo clip for the upcoming J.J. Abrams-directed adventure film. By Eric Ditzian Photo: Paramount Pictures “What the hell?” says a boy at the very end of the first full-length trailer for “Super 8,” neatly summarizing our own thoughts about the footage from the mysterious action-adventure film: Um, what exactly did we just see? Well, what we saw, first off, was an incredibly effective promo clip courtesy of director J.J. Abrams and executive producer Steven Spielberg. It managed to maintain the spirit of a teaser trailer — withholding far more information than is ever unleashed — while expanding our understanding of, and getting us seriously more excited about, what we’ll see in the flick when it hits theaters on June 10. Here are our picks for the new trailer’s five key moments: What Kind of Military Trucks Are Those? In we’d already seen the fiery train crash that unleashes some sort of very angry, possible very alien creature. So what we’re focused on here is what’s new, like those military trucks rolling through town with red cargo bins. What kind of military vehicles haul cargo like that? We see them pull right up to the train’s wreckage, so we’re guessing whatever is in them is important. As an Air Force leader, played by Noah Emmerich, says to Kyle Chandler’s local policeman, “I understand you have concerns about our cargo,” before telling him there’s nothing to worry about. Right … 9/11 … for Dogs? Though the film is set in 1979, there’s no mistaking the allusion to September 11, 2001, in this shot of missing-dog posters. Apparently, all the dogs hightailed it out of town after the train crash. Why is it that animals always seem to grasp potential sci-fi terror before humans? And what ever happened to man’s best friend, after all? That Looks Like It Hurts So dogs and people start to go missing. Things, no doubt, start to go from bad to worse. Just look at this bloody-faced guy who has a gun in his hand, a terrified look in his eyes, and one word of instruction: “Go!” This raises a question about “Super 8” that we’ve had for a while. Early reports seemed to suggest that this movie would be more of an alien-invasion film in the vein of “Cloverfield.” But most of the footage we’ve seen thus far gives an impression of something more akin to “E.T.” So which is it? Or is it both? In the new trailer, we definitely get a sense of a Spielberg-like focus on family-oriented fare, yet things clearly get very intense and very dangerous at some point. Boom! Boom! Throughout the trailer, we’ve seen how this alien presence can somehow manipulate electricity and exert a telekinetic power on objects. Here we see a prime example of that ability, as the local electronics store goes boom. At others points, power lines explode, a bus tips over, and, well, it’s all leading to… Look, Up in the Sky The most eye-popping scene in the entire trailer comes at nearly the very end. Main Street is trashed, the citizenry is freaked out and the military is nowhere to be seen as vehicles rise up into the air. The kids (portrayed by Joel Courtney and Elle Fanning) — both looking very much like characters from “E.T.,” he Elliot, she Gertie — take in the craziness. Like in “E.T.,” it seems that only the children fully understand the implications of what’s actually going on. For example: No one believes a man in the hospital, for instance, who claims to have seen the creature … except the boy. As he tells the man, “I believe you.” What are your favorite moments in the new “Super 8” teaser? Tell us in the comments.
