Bethenny Frankel may now be single, but she is far from alone. Following her separation from Jason Hoppy , which the reality star announced yesterday, the former Real Housewife has taken to Twitter to thank her 1.1 million fans for their support. “You give me so much love, and I am so grateful,” Frankel wrote last night in response to an outpouring from followers. “It feels like your words could get someone through anything.” Bethenny and Jason were married for two-plus years, after meeting in 2008 and having their relationship chronicled on Bravo’s Bethenny Getting Married . Still, shockingly, it all fell apart. Do you think these two are over for good? Might they reconcile? Yes, they are meant to be! No, it’s over! View Poll »
Do not count Spike Lee as one of the millions of movie goers who will be seeing Django Unchained this holiday season. Or any season, for that matter. The famous director went off on the film – which stars Jamie Foxx as a freed slave who teams up with a bounty hunter to rescue his wife from an evil plantation owner – and Quentin Tarantino in a recent interview with Vibe. Django Unchained Trailer “I’m not gonna see it,” Lee told the magazine. “All I’m going to say is that it’s disrespectful to my ancestors.” Lee then expounded via Twitter: “American Slavery Was Not A Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western. It Was A Holocaust. My Ancestors Are Slaves.Stolen From Africa.I Will Honor Them.” The action movie has made a few headlines for its excessive use of the N-word, something Lee also took Tarantino to task for in 1997 after the release of Jackie Brown . Said Lee at the time: “Let the record state that I never said that he cannot use that word – I’ve used that word in many of my films – but I think something is wrong with him.”
While relatively subdued by her standards, these photos of Rihanna in a swimsuit in Barbados don’t look like photos of you and your friends in swimsuit. If we’re wrong, then you have some interesting friends. The pop superstar, who just donated a huge sum to a Barbados hospital in honor of her late grandmother, was in good spirits despite the rain pouring down. She was hanging out with friends by the pool with hip hop blasting, drinking Banks beer and wearing next to nothing … enjoy Christmas in the frigid U.S.! And check out more Rihanna photos in our gallery. [Photos: Pacific Coast News]
With Kate Middleton and Prince William expecting their first child in 2013, we got to thinking recently. What should the royal bundle of joy be named? Ever since the news that William got Kate Middleton pregnant broke, speculation has been swirling regarding its gender, and what they will call it. One thing’s for sure: The baby will be the heir(ess) to the throne behind William, thanks to a change in the rules of succession . A very cool thing. What will the future King or Queen of the UK and all its territories be called? It won’t be something original, that’s a safe bet. The royal family is steeped in tradition, so expect that to continue with an old-fashioned, classic choice. Here are 13 suggestions for 2013’s #1 celebrity baby: Albert . A regal moniker often found in national lore. Alice . Sweet, pretty, classic and popular in Britain. Arthur . King Arthur, people. Think about it. Caroline . After Catherine’s mom Carole? Charlotte . A feminization of Charles (as is Caroline), and thus a perfect choice for Charles’ granddaughter, as both will reign one day. Diana . Would they go there? Despite William’s reverence for his late mother, he may not want to invite the comparisons (a middle name is another story). Eleanor . Symbolic of strength in challenging environs. Frederick . Regal in full form, cute/trendy as Freddie. George . Without a doubt one of the most famous male names throughout British history; Queen Elizabeth II’s grandfather was named George. James . Does it get more traditionally British? Matilda . See Leopold, only for girls. Philip . Would be a nod to the Queen’s husband and the boy’s great-grandfather, Prince Philip. A likely choice for a middle name, if not. Victoria . One of the most famous queens in British history, but also a name signifying great history and strength, while remaining popular today. What do you think of the 13 baby names? Vote in the surveys below! What should Kate Middleton and Prince William name a girl? Alice Caroline Charlotte Diana Eleanor Matilda Victoria Something else! The online campaign urging Macy’s to Dump Trump is hitting the streets – billboard style. On Saturday, a mobile billboard attached to a truck began circling Macy’s headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as a nearby department store. In New York, another mobile billboard began circling the company’s flagship store in Herald Square. The goal? Get Macy’s to cut ties with Donald Trump. Dump Trump, a petition from the liberal group MoveOn (dot) org, has gained nearly 680,000 signatures since launching last month in a bid to get him fired. The petition charges Trump with making “sexist” and “racially charged” comments, which organizers say are against Macy’s social responsibility policy. Case in point: Trump’s election night Twitter tirade , in which he called America a sham democracy after President Obama’s win and urged a march on D.C. Earlier case in point: Trump’s nonsense about Obama’s birth certificate . “There is a gap between what Macy’s brand is and what Donald Trump’s brand is,” protest organizer Angelo Carusone tells The Hollywood Reporter . The billboards feature photos of a classic Santa Claus next to an angry-looking Trump, as well as the words “Bring back the classic Macy’s. Dump Trump.” The campaign is asking the retailer to stop carrying Trump’s line of clothing and fragrances and to stop using the billionaire real estate mogul in ads. “Macy’s says they are a cut above the rest. They appeal to everyone’s nostalgia. They inject themselves into our culture and our holidays,” says Carusone. “We don’t think [Trump] represents the values they espouse.” Carusone hopes the billboards will make Macy’s and the public see Trump as a liability, not an asset, especially if accompanied by protests at Macy’s events. If it’s working, the company has yet to admit as much yet. Macy’s has stood by Trump, saying through a spokesman, “Macy’s marketing and merchandise offerings are not representative of any political position.” NBC has also indicated it will stick with Trump as it prepares to launch another season of Celebrity Apprentice , which is apparently still on the air, in March.
In a new interview with Canadian talk show eChat , Steven Tyler calmly addresses the charges of racism leveled at him this week by Nicki Minaj . The latter artist went off on Twitter this week after Tyler randomly said the American Idol Season 12 judging team would send Bob Dylan home if he were to audition in front of them. Minaj took major exception to the comment, chalking it up to bitterness on the part of Tyler. “I apologize if it was taken wrong, Nicki… I am the last thing on this planet as far as being a racist,” Tyler says in the following video. No, this isn’t something out of children’s book or animated TV show. A zebra really did chase a pony through the parking lot of a nondescript strip mall in Staten Island. Zachary Osher of Metropolitan Drape & Blind summed it up best. Zebra Chases Pony “I was sitting at my desk at about 9:20 when I saw a zebra and pony run back and forth across the street, almost getting hit by a car,” he told the Staten Island Advance . Osher grabbed his iPhone and started recording the zebra and pony sprinting through the lot. The two eventually made it onto a main road, dodging traffic as they went. Then, amazingly, “Thirty seconds later, I saw two men in dark black suits carrying lassos running across the street,” Osher told the Advance … and wasn’t joking. Eventually, the creatures were successfully corralled. Police reported to the New York Times that by 2:30 p.m. today, the pair were returned home – to a petting zoo at Victory Boulevard and Travis Avenue just a few blocks away. No word if the zebra and pony, who were both surprisingly unhurt after their jailbreak escapade, plan on sending in auditioning tapes for roles in Madagascar 4 .
The Kim Kardashian divorce case may have reached a tipping point today. First, Kanye West was actually deposed by an attorney for Kris Humphries, who asked the rapper… God only knows what about his relationship with Kardashian and how it has any bearing on her desire to ditch Humphries. Then, Kim’s lawyer – Laura Wasser – went off on the entire debacle, telling a Los Angeles County judge that her client is “handcuffed to Mr. Humphries… These delays are forcing her to be married. She wants to dissolve her marriage so she can move on with her life.” Aside from supplying readers with the easiest punchline ever, she makes a good point. Kris signed a prenuptial agreement. What is the hold-up here?!? Wasser also expressed irritation, according to TMZ sources, that Humphries and his legal team are dragging this mess out, considering they haven’t even deposed Kim yet. She referred to the case as a “fishing expedition.” In response, Kris’ lawyer said all Kim has to do is agree to an annulment (which would void the prenup) and everyone could move on. In the end, the judge set a trial date February 15. Yes, that’s 16 months after the couple split. Who do you blame more for this divorce debacle? Kim Kardashian Kris Humphries Oh my frickin God, they both just need to go far, far away! View Poll »
Ivanka Trump is blasting a report that claimed she and her siblings staged an intervention, asking father Donald Trump to back off his public bashing of President Obama. The Trump heiress took to Twitter today to call out the N.Y. Daily News: “I totally respect @realDonaldTrump’s opinions & right to articulate them, which is what I would’ve told @nydailynews if they’d call me to fact check their false story ,” she wrote. The Trump patriarch has taken a ton of heat – and kept late night talk show hosts in business – thanks to his repeated diatribes throughout the 2012 election cycle. A year and a half ago, he was beating the drum for Obama’s birth certificate to be released, insinuating repeatedly that the Commander-in-Chief was not a U.S. citizen. Obama eventually released the document, then eviscerated the Donald at the WHCA dinner. In 2012, he made a “bombshell” offer to donate $5 million to charity if Obama – who he continues to bash repeatedly and publicly – produced his passport and college records. This month, he ranted against the sham election and end of democracy as we know it. The level of vitriol was off-putting to many; according to the Daily News , his heirs decided to confront him and ask him to tone it down for the good of the Trump name. According to Ivanka, this never happened … although the way things are going for him lately, the fake sources the paper got this from may be on to something. He was our #1 Turkey of 2012 , after all … and there’s a Macy’s Dump Trump petition . [Photo: WENN.com]
