Because it wouldn’t be New Year’s Eve (or any eve) without some shameless exploitation and materialism, Kim Kardashian shared a new photo of daughter North West. Holding her MASSIVE Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring. “It was an amazing year!!!” the 33-year-old captioned the picture of the six-month-old’s hand holding the diamond Kanye West presented her with. “I hope everyone has a safe New Years tonight!” Kim Kardashian said, reminiscing. “Nothing better than spending it with family & friends playing board games ;-)” And making sure everybody pays attention to her 24/7. The reality star and celebrity gossip mainstay did have quite the year … probably the most eventful since the Kim Karadshian sex tape came out in 2007. She was already a household name thanks to Keeping Up With the Kardashians and her many business ventures, but this year, she was half of Kimye. No offense to Damon Thomas, Reggie Bush, Kris Humphries or Ray J (the man who hit it first), but Kanye elevated Kim’s celebrity status to a new level. Even if he became much less cool in the process, it’s true.
