Wait… Ryan Hardy can smile?!? Turns out, the waiter is in cahoots with two young psychopaths named Kyle and Daisy, the latter of whom poses as a prostitute to lure a horny couple to its death. Hardy and company eventually find their way to this murder scene and find the couple rigged up to a tableau along with the words “Ryan Hardy Lies.” It’s nearly identical to the scene at another location that reads “Max Hardy Lies.” Wait… The culprits are recreating moments that the FBI murdered members of the Carroll-Gray House of Crazies. “Mark is behind this,” Mike says. It’s true: the surviving Gray brother is behind this influx of death. His squad is comprised of the waiter (real name: Andrew), Daisy and Kyle… and Luke, who now apparently just exists in Mark’s messed up brain. The FBI fortunately intercepts the group prior to its next killing spree, but they can only corral Andrew. Everyone else gets away AND kills another innocent, just as Ryan interrogates Andrew and we learn that he drove the getaway car the night Luke died. Finally, the premiere concludes with the FBI unit at a loss: Max is drinking… Ryan is admitting he needs Gwen… Kyle is telling Daisy they can’t leave Mark, who they may be secretly working against (at Joe’s behest, perhaps?)… and Mark/Luke is plotting to kill an FBI agent the next day. What happens when The Vampire Diaries airs an hour with no Kai, no Jo, no Liv and no mention of The Gemini Coven at all? We nearly fall asleep. Indeed, The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 14 was a well-acted, emotionally manipulative, TERRIBLE installment of this CW series. Titled “Stay,” the episode basically honed in on two developments we knew to be coming for many weeks: FIRST, Jeremy left town. No, not to art school. That was the big shocker. Instead, he made a deal with Alaric to go hunt down mean vampires. Everyone else thinks he got into the only art school that apparently begins in the middle of a high school semester, without ever asking for proof of acceptance or anything. The character has been rendered useless for years now, a point driven home by his goodbye not even concluding the hour. Instead, that honor fell to the SECOND supposedly big development of the night: Liz Forbes is dead. She was cool and all. We liked her just fine. But she was also a secondary character if there ever was one – and the episode simply wasted a chunk of time with her trying to figure out who killed Elena’s parents… only to discover the answer was no one. They died of a basic car accident. The sheriff’s condition helped Stefan and Caroline finally get together, as they shared a kiss at the cabin. Go ahead and watch The Vam[ire Diaries online to see this romantic moment play out. Finally, Enzo ran over Matt with Sarah watching just so he could bite himself and give Matt his blood as part of his really strange plan to make Sarah want to be a vampire. Well, okay then! We only have one question with this hour now behind us: Is The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 15 here yet?!?
There was a lot to like on Arrow Season 3 Episode 13 , though we’ll start with a mini complaint. The face-off between dueling canaries on “Canaries” was a bit of a letdown. The fight sequences needed to be one-sided, removing a great deal of drama, while they were actually difficult to follow as well. That’s what happens when both combatants are wearing the same outfits. It would have been easy and predictable for the former to be angry at the latter for all his lying, but she instead took the more rational and mature route. All those occasions Thea believed Ollie to be a flake and or a liar? “You were saving someone,” she said. Thea did, however, have a beef with her father for driving her and her brother apart, all while being aware of Oliver’s identity. This segued nicely into tension between members of Team Arrow when Oliver booted Thea from the Foundry. Felicity led the way, giving a speech about the squad’s newfound independence, while Diggle later made it clear at the bar: The team has turned into something else. It has evolved into a cause that can live beyond its founder. “Can you live with what it’s become?” he asked Ollie. Back to Laurel: she realized she can never be Sara. Nor should she be. She has to be herself. So, as you’ll see when you watch Arrow online , she came clean to her father about everything. Toward the end of the hour, Malcolm informs Oliver and Thea that to ever take down Ra’s al Ghul, they must first conquer any fears the villain may use against them as a weapon. That’s sheer lunacy, of course, and we aren’t about to compare the premiere of one series with the entirety of the greatest series in television history. We opened with a quick look at what became of Saul Goodman: after getting the heck out of Walter White’s Dodge, he works at a Cinnabon in Nebraska, goes by the name “Gene” and is looking over his shoulder at every turn. We know how Saul Goodman arrived at this place. But we spent the rest of the hour learning how a man born Jimmy McGill turned into Saul Goodman. Jimmy is desperate to make it big as an attorney. He works as a public defender. He barely gets by. His office is in the back of a beauty salon. Bob Odenkirk is fantastic at portraying Jimmy as both vulnerable and pathetic, yet smooth talking and sure of himself when need be; like when he tries to land a potentially big client but loses them to a giant law firm. That giant law firm includes as its partner Jimmy’s brother, Chuck. He suffers from a disease in which he cannot be exposed to electromagnetic pulses of any kind. As a result, he hasn’t worked in a year and Jimmy wants him to cash out his partnership stake and pocket around $17 million… largely so Jimmy can have some of it, of course. But Chuck is determined to beat his disease and return to the office someday. And he has the backing of his firm, who doesn’t want to shell out eight figures to their ill colleague. Jimmy is therefore in a corner. He’s desperate. He sees no means to the ends of having money, which he emphasizes is totally “the point” in an argument with his brother. So he works with two local small-time con artists to try and pull a larger con that could net them a few grand.. but it instead puts a gun in Jimmy’s face to close the episode. And that gun is being held by Tuco! Breaking Bad fans will smile broadly at that closing reveal, as well as at the opening few minutes when we catch back up with Saul. But even those who have never heard of Heisenberg should appreciate the pace of the premiere, the story of Jimmy McGill and the journey we’re about to go on to see how this WAY down on his luck attorney builds himself a legal ends up on top. Jane discovers that the robbers’ inside man works at the bank where they were delivering the money. He won’t talk, but Wiley has another idea. He is able to track the insider’s recent locations from his phone, which Cho and Vega investigate. Meanwhile, Wiley asks Vega out on a date. She says yes. But if you watch The Mentalist online , you will soon see this was foreshadowing for the shocking turn of events about to unfold. At a diner, Vega spots two of the robbers; Cho tries to stop them from escaping, but weapons are drawn and the third man pulls out his gun to open fire. Vega is killed in the hail of bullets. The team is beyond crushed, none more so than Cho, who must notify her next of kin. And of course, there is still the matter of the case to be solved. When local police try to apprehend one of the suspects after he had escaped Cho, he takes a hostage and flees again. But the cops are on the trail. The pursuit leads to a suburban home where the criminals now have two hostages; Jane wants to play head games and try to turn them on each other. Cho and Abbott opt to go with SWAT, however, and when Jane sees Lisbon is about to enter as well, he goes in and secures the hostages’ release. With one robber wounded, Jane succeeds in getting the other two to turn on each other, and just as they open fire, SWAT takes them both out. After Vega’s funeral, Jane tells Teresa that he’s done working with the FBI. He can no longer do it, and she can either join him or not, but he is out. Do you believe him?
Peek-a-Boo! We saw a new villain on The Flash Season 1 Episode 12 . And while we didn’t love her nickname (sorry, Caitlin, you can’t name anymore baddies), we did not love she neutered Barry’s special abilities. This left it up to the S.T.A.R. labs team to thwart her evil efforts, which they did by determining that darkness was her Kryptonite. She ended the hour in an empty cell in the S.T.A.R. Labs Pipeline. Watch The Flash Season 1 Episode 12 Online On a related note, the Pied Piper talked Cisco into letting him out of his cell so he could explain the fate of Ronnie. Or, to be more accurate, why Dr. Stein did not leave the lab the night of the particle accelerator incident. Pied Piper viewed surveillance footage and noted out Stein (who was engaged in transmutation experiments) ended up caught in the blast, fusing with Ronnie in the process. The Pied Piper then knocked Cisco out (of course), prompting Cisco to later confess to Dr. Wells, Barry and Caitlin about what happened. He also admitted to why it happened: he’s been feeling guilty about sealing Ronnie inside the chamber during the explosion. Caitlin found it in herself to forgive him. Speaking of Caitlin: she got WASTED during a night out with Barry in which they sang “Summer Nights” at karaoke. Seriously! He ended up taking her home and getting her into her pajamas, acting like a gentlemen throughout. She told him, however, that any peek he sneaked was deserved because he has done so much “good” for people. You simply MUST watch Arrow online to relive this karaoke performance. Elsewhere on a busy Arrow Season 3 episode: Barry’s dad was stabbed in prison. The incident was payback for his assisting Joe with intel on Clay Parker’s boss/possible whereabouts. In the infirmary, Henry noticed a front page photo of The Flash, courtesy of Iris, and is clearly aware of his identity. But he played coy and he sent a message to this hero to be “careful” and that his father is “proud of him.” Following his karaoke performance, Barry got the number of a reporter for the Picture News, Linda Park. At the very end of the hour, fans witnessed former S.T.A.R. Labs subject Grodd. He’s set up base in the Central City sewer system, where he keeps busy by writing his name on the walls and abducting maintenance men. GULP !
