Drake’s Baby Mama Throws Shade at Kanye West

Sophie Brussaux just cut Kanye West way down to size. With just a single sentence on Twitter. The woman best known for having given birth to Drake’s son a couple years ago has hilariously inserted herself into the ongoing rivalry between her ex-lover and his current rival. This rivalry got underway late Thursday night after West shared a request from Drake to sample the beat in the Kanye-produced 2009 track “Say What’s Real.” But Kanye was in no mood to hear from Drake, not after the artist insulted his Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 sneakers in a verse on French Montana hit track “No Stylist.” With the flood gates now open in his mind, Kanye went ahead and unleashed a rather amazing rant, even for him. He sent upwards of 80 Tweets in the direction of Drake. How did Sophie get herself involved? She saw her own opening after Ariana Grande mocked the Drake-Kanye beef by Tweeting yesterday: “Guys, I know there are grown men arguing online [right now]. “But Miley and I dropping our beautiful, new songs tonight so if y’all could please [just] behave for just like a few hours so the girls can shine that’d be so sick thank [you].” It was pretty much a perfect Tweet. And then Brussaux left a nearly perfect Comment underneath, writing: I would hardly call Kanye arguing with himself ‘grown men. This is both funny and accurate. Like we said, Kanye sent about 80 (yes, 80!) Tweets on the subject Thursday evening into Friday morning, while Drake responded with… silence. Brussaux later posted a cryptic message to her Instagram Story, one we’d have to imagine was also directed at West: “Pettiness and messiness hinder your blessings. Seriously. Spread love.” At various points in his rant against Drake, Kanye accused the singer of threatening his family members. There’s no real evidence of this, but Kim Kardashian took the side of her husband around 2:30 a.m. on Friday and also Tweeted at Drake. She told him to leave her loved ones the heck alone . If Drake somehow did utter a negative or menacing word about any of Kimye’s three kids, we’re very much on their side here. But come on: Is anyone buying what this power couple is trying to sell here? Prior to deleting all of his Drake-related messages, West himself seemed to offer the rapper an olive branch, writing on his official account: “I’m up for talking. We need to show all of these fans that black men can@talk without someone ending up dead or in jail.” Yes. Sure. Absolutely. If this manufactured, one-sided argument can end with such an important message being sent, then we are all for it. Mostly, however, we mostly feel about Kanye overall and, especially in this case, the same way Drake felt about his quasi rival’s angry words last night: Yup, we agree, dude. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

Ariana Grande to Kanye West: Grow Up and Get Off Twitter!

So you know how Kanye West enjoys expressing his thoughts and feelings on Twitter? It seems that yesterday, he had just a great big mess of them. Because, OK, Kanye hates Drake , right? And this is for a lot of reasons. Earlier this year, Kanye produced an album for Pusha-T, and on the album, Pusha said some not-so-nice things about Drake. Drake retaliated by saying some equally unkind things about both men in a song of his own. After that, Pusha released another song in which he let everyone knew that Drake had that kid that he’d been keeping secret . A few months later, Drake slammed Kanye in yet another song. And after all that, Kanye got a text yesterday from one of Drake’s producers asking for permission to sample one of his songs. That’s when things got really bad. Kanye tweeted a screenshot of the text and then went off … for a very, very long time. The gist of it all was that he’s been waiting on an apology from Drake for going after him when he wasn’t even the one who told Pusha about his secret son. After the first part of the rant, he said that Drake did call to apologize, but just a few hours later, he claimed that “Drake called trying to threaten me.” We can’t even begin to break down everything he said — he seriously tweeted for hours and hours — but he did seem to take the threat seriously. “Drake if anything happens to me or anyone from my family you are the first suspect,” he wrote. He said that he made it possible for Drake to be successful because “I’m the guy with the pink polo that made a way for him.” But now he’s “so street” that he picks on “people with mental health issues” — he did explain that since he’s bipolar, issues like these can make him “ramped.” Kanye begged Drake to “please take the devil up out you” and to stop playing games and just have a real conversation about everything with him. He really did go on for so long. So, so long. And Ariana Grande was not having it. See, last night Ariana was planning on dropping a new song, “Imagine,” and she did, but she was on Twitter for a few hours before to talk with her fans and promote the release. The problem was that so many people were talking about everything that Kanye was saying that it was kind of sucking up all the attention. So she tweeted this: “Guys, i know there are grown men arguing online rn but miley and i dropping our beautiful, new songs tonight so if y’all could please jus behave for just like a few hours so the girls can shine that’d be so sick thank u.” Honestly, a lot of people didn’t appreciate the comment — some thought it was a silly cry for attention, others thought Kanye’s claims about death threats were more interesting and important. But Miley was down for Ariana’s plea! She retweeted it and added “Didn’t they hear the news?! War IS over! Thank you, next!” Because the song she released last night is called “War is Over,” get it? Unfortunately, Kanye didn’t listen, and he went on for a while after that about how important he’s been for “sneakers fashion music everything” and about how positive vibes are desperately needed. It Ain’t Over: Kanye West Continues Twitter Tirade, Accuses Drake Of Threatening Him Via Phone

Source: Nancy Rivera/Bauer-Griffin / Getty Kanye Continues To Tweet Over Drake Diss And Threats If you thought Kanye West put his phone down after going in on Drake over a clearance request …you clearly don’t know much about ‘Ye. Predictably, Kanye had a LOT more stream of consciousness thoughts about the situation, exacerbated by the fact that when he finally got that call from Drake he was hoping for…it was full of threats instead of apologies and other niceties. Ye tweets in shorter spurts than necessary with the 280 character limit provided, so there are many more tweets than we’ll go through here. But, here’s a highlight list of Kanye’s late-night (for the east coast, anyway) Twitter rant about Drake and all his “evils…” Drake called trying to threatened me — ye (@kanyewest) December 14, 2018 The kid he had run on stage at Pushas concert is in critical condition — ye (@kanyewest) December 14, 2018 Since the pool line he’s been trying to poke at me and fuck with me — ye (@kanyewest) December 14, 2018 So drake if anything happens to me or anyone from my family you are the first suspect So cut the tough talk — ye (@kanyewest) December 14, 2018 It just doesn’t sit right on my spirit — ye (@kanyewest) December 14, 2018 I got a family and kids. 69 is locked up xxx is dead. The kid that ran on stage is in the hospital — ye (@kanyewest) December 14, 2018 All of this seems a bit silly…these men literally live a few houses down from each other. Any threats or responses to such could be handled with a brisk walk up the block from either party. But, we digress… Kanye stressed how he paved the way for Drake and accused Drake of playing a street image to impress rather than just sitting and speaking like peers. I’m the guy with the pink polo that made a way for him — ye (@kanyewest) December 14, 2018 Now he’s so street — ye (@kanyewest) December 14, 2018 You wouldn’t send purple emojis to scooter but you wanna need with your brother — ye (@kanyewest) December 14, 2018 That’s why black people never get ahead and and we stay controlled — ye (@kanyewest) December 14, 2018 Cause we rather act cool than sit and have a convo — ye (@kanyewest) December 14, 2018 You KNOW he wasn’t finished. Some Couth: Nick Cannon Classily Claps At Wendy Williams For Calling His Youngest Seed An “Oops Baby”

Source: Wenn / WENN Nick Cannon Defends His Child Against Wendy Williams “Oops Baby” Comments Things got AWKWARD during a Wendy Williams interview when she questioned Nick Cannon about the route he would take on Christmas morning to witness his various kids opening presents. Nick, who said his kids were “excited” for the holidays, tried to diverge Wendy’s questions about his extended fam by talking about his Haitian charity he would give presents to, days before the 25th. But Wendy brought Nick right back to the questions, “To Mariah’s…and then to the oops baby.” Nick screamed, “the disrespect!” before changing the subject to Kevin Hart . Peep the clip below, was Wendy doing TOO much?   After the interview, Nick clapped back at Wendy’s comments even harder. Hit the flip to see!

Source: Jason LaVeris / Getty Kevin Hart ‘s problematic past caught up with him last week and it sparked a major debate on celebrity accountability. On Tuesday of last week, Hart announced that he was hosting the Oscars and everything was cool, calm and celebratory for a hot second. But then, the dreaded ghost of Twitter past came to snatch Kevin’s Oscar mic right from his hands. A Twitter user unearthed old homophobic tweets from Kevin dating back to 2011. One tweet said, “Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice ‘Stop that’s gay.’” Kevin also used the F-word in multiple tweets with one saying, “u should ask the question like this, how many ‘gay’ men sweat when they wear dress shirts because real men don’t lmao p.s f*g” I wonder when Kevin Hart is gonna start deleting all his old tweets pic.twitter.com/ZbYG6SI3Xm — Benjamin Lee (@benfraserlee) December 5, 2018   Kevin Hart responded to his old tweets with an Instagram video and a comment that read “If u want to search my history or past and anger yourselves with what u find that is fine with me. I’m almost 40 years old and I’m in love with the man that I am becoming. You LIVE and YOU LEARN & YOU GROW & YOU MATURE.” This post was not enough for the Academy, however, because according to Kevin, they called him demanding that he apologize for his old tweets or else they would drop him from his hosting gig. Kevin was not up for it. He posted another Instagram video saying, “I’ve addressed this several times…I’ve said where the rights and wrongs were, I’ve said who I am now versus who I was then.” He continued, “I’m not going to continue to go back and tap into the days of old when I’ve moved on and I’m in a completely different space in my life. The same energy that went into finding those old tweets can be the same energy put into finding the response to the questions that have been asked years after years after years.” Since Kevin was dropped from his hosting gig, some major stars have come to his defense, including Snoop Dogg and Nick Cannon , who found  old homophobic tweets  from comedians Sarah Silverman and Amy Schumer . The whole incident posed the question… Is any comedian safe to host the Oscars? Most comedians are known for their edgy take on social and political subjects. However, their positions or language back in the day could have totally changed in today’s political climate. Even if they haven’t changed, most comedians wouldn’t dare say some of the things they’ve said in the past on Twitter. There is a safe way to pick the next Oscars host, however, now that Kevin is out… Aim for the most marginalized voice.  It’s as simple as that. In many instances, this will be a Black woman or a member of the Black LGBTQ community. Does this mean that person will have a completely clean slate. Not at all! But the likelihood of them having a problematic past will probably be slimmer if they’ve already felt the weight of multiple oppressions. Pulling from the most marginalized will also be a good start in leveling the entertainment playing field so that it’s not just filled with men and White people. With that being said, hit the next pages for some good options to replace Kevin Hart. And if they all have problematic histories, may the angels of accountability and forgiveness lead them in the right direction… Or we could just have Beyonce perform at the Oscars and call it a day. Whichever’s easiest.

Tracy Shapoff: The Bachelor Contestant Caught Using Slurs, Fat-Shaming

On Thursday, Chris Harrison announced the contestants vying for Colton Underwood’s affections … and virginity. One of these women, Tracy Shapoff, is already causing a stir among the Bachelor Nation in the worst way. She has tweeted some alarming things. Some are awkward … but some of what she has said online is absolutely abhorrent. When Chris Harrison said that Tracy would make a “flashy first impression,” we don’t think that this is what he menat. He also mentioned that Tracy may “find herself the center of drama night one.” This, however, isn’t about Tracy’s behavior on the show. Instead, it’s about a series of old tweets of hers that have surfaced now that her name has been announced. In 2010, she tweeted: “Do ppl really think they’re finding love on reality tv…or am I just the idiot that watches it?” Obviously, that tweet isn’t harmful or problematic. It’s just a little awkward since Tracy herself has now found herself competing for love on reality television. At the time, she could not have known that she would one day end up on screen, indirectly referring to the Bachelor Nation as “idiots.” We wish that the rest of these tweets were as innocuous. They are not. Another has a much more hateful message. “Wow it’s really cool when you goto get in a cab and some fat prick w/ veneers flips out because he claims he hailed it first…ahole,” Tracy tweeted in 2011. That tweet, in which she seems to single out the alleged weight of a stranger for criticism, is only one example. It appears that Tracy has — or, at least, had — a real problem with anyone who mgiht be overweight or fat. This next tweet is so vile that we can’t even write out all of the words, and it also includes fat-shaming. “Liposuction is r—-ded…stop wasting your money and just get your fat ass to the gym,” she tweeted in 2010. Abhorrent. Let’s ignore her absolute cluelessness about genetic differences that allow one person to lose weight through exercise more easily than another. Regardless of someone’s reason for doing liposuction, that’s no one’s business but theirs and their doctor’s. And, obviously, no one should use slurs. She just hurled the r-slur, which probably means that she felt comfortable using it in her speech, too. In another tweet, she expressed outrage that two older and allegedly overweight women were enjoying themselves at the gym. “Wish these fat old women on the treadmill would shut the hell up,” she lamented in 2010. Her tweet concluded with a demand: “Stop dancing and just [work out].” Obviously, these are older tweets. They date back to 2010 and to 2011. Fat-shaming back then was not okay, even if the general cutlure was less aware of it. Using the r-slur was emphatically not okay either, and to be honest, we think that everyone knew that even then. If we were talking about Tracy committing assaults or violence, this would be the end of the discussion. But saying things — even terrible things — far in the past is not necessarily irredeemable. Tracy can absolutely apologize and show that she has grown as a person. After all, who among us isn’t at least a little wiser or kinder than we were in 2011? Some members of the Bachelor Nation have been quick to point out parallels between Tracy’s exposed tweets and another recent scandal. During Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette, Garrett Yrigoyen was exposed for “liking” a lot of vicious, dehumanizing political posts. These Instagram posts weren’t just partisan — no matter your political views, the posts he “liked” were deeply bigoted. Garrett apologized, but the posts that he had liked were only a few months old. In the mean time, Tracy’s date back the better part of a decade. Audiences may be much more willing to believe that Tracy has had a change of heart. Ryan Edwards: CAUGHT Drinking Post-Rehab!

Here we go again. As you may have heard, Ryan Edwards left rehab last month after completing 90 days of in-patient treatment. Ryan had checked into a treatment center on one prior occasion, and he relapsed within days of returning home. There was reason to believe this time would be different — but now, it looks as though Ryan is not taking his recovery as seriously as he needs to. Take a look:   1. Dark Times It’s been less than two weeks Ryan left rehab after undergoing 90 days of treatment for an addiction to heroin. 2. Off the Wagon Now, it looks as though Ryan is no longer sober. 3. Back At It A fan posted this photo of Ryan and Mackenzie at a restaurant in North Carolina. 4. The Accusation The person who took the photo says Ryan was definitely drinking alcohol during dinner. 5. What’s the Problem? Ryan was not being treated for an alcohol addiction, but rehab counselors generally advise addicts to steer clear of all intoxicating substances. 6. A Repeating Pattern The last time Ryan left treatment, he was spotted drinking alcohol shortly thereafter. View Slideshow

Oscars 2019: Who Should Replace Kevin Hart?

As you may have heard by now,  Kevin Hart is a gay-hating loser who will no longer host the 2019 Academy Awards. He had agreed to do so, but then resigned from the post after refusing to apologize for a handful of inappropriate Tweets and jokes from several years ago. But we’re not here to delve into this scandal once again. We’re here to move past Kevin Hart and look forward to February 24, 2019. That’s the date on which the Oscars will air. It’s fast approaching… and there’s suddently a need for a new host. Who should step in for Hart? Our staff has hunkered down and come up with a few ideas. Which of the following candidates do you most endorse? PATTON OSWALT by Tyler Johnson Confession time: I’m a fan of Kevin Hart’s standup (his movies are a different story entirely), and when I first learned that he had been forced to step down from his gig hosting the Oscars, I was prepared to defend him. Then I actually read the remarks that had everyone so pissed off. Hart’s jabs at the LGBT community weren’t jokes; they were indications of a backward and bigoted worldview, and being a comedian doesn’t give one the freedom to hide behind a clown nose in response to every backlash. That said, it can be tough for comics these days to push the envelope, while not straying too far from the progressive political views the Academy looks for in its hosts. An opening monologue that won’t piss off the crowd or bore everyone to tears is a tricky tightrope walk, and the list of funny folk who can pull it off is a short one: And in my mind, Patton Oswalt is at the very top of that list This is an idea that was first floated by Stephen King and has since caught fire on Twitter. As King points out, Oswalt, is sharply funny, consistently unproblematic, and he knows a thing or two about film. (A bit naive of Steve to think the Academy really cares about that last part, but we see his point.) Perhaps more importantly, Patton is the king of the comedy-tragedy balancing act. After all, this is a guy who addressed the unexpected overdose death of his wife in his standup act without ever coming off as morbid or maudlin. Many Americans rightly feel that 2018 has been a year loaded with tragedy — so what better way to top it off than with the droll and bone-dry comedy of Patton Oswalt? KATE McKINNON by Hilton Hater Kate McKinnon should not host the Oscars to film some kind of quota. Kate McKinnon should host the Oscars because she is downright hilarious. Yes, it would be a very nice change of pace for a woman to step into this role, as Ellen DeGeneres took on the gig in 2014, but prior to that you would need to go back to 2001 for the last time a woman hosted solo. (Anne Hathaway shared the job with James Franco in 2011, but let’s never speak of that experiment ever again.) And, yes, in the #MeToo era, of course, Hollywood would benefit from having some estrogen on stage. But those are merely two periphery reasons why McKinnon is right for the role. Others include: she can sing, she can dance, she is NOT a late-night talk show host, she can do impressions, she’s universally liked — and did we mention that she’s hilarious? Seriously, find us one person who would object to this selection. It ought to either be McKinnon or the gayest celebrity organizers can find. Stay by your phone, Billy Eichner! ELLEN DEGENERES and THE ROCK by Simon Delott Awards shows are tricky, and the Oscars are no exception. They matter, but at the same time, we’ve all seen enough leaked Oscar slips to know that the people voting are the worst people on the planet. However, the show itself is entertaining and audiences love tuning in to watch their favorite stars in the audience. Audiences also love to see — and have opinions about — the host. Now that Kevin Hart’s role as a host has gone the way of the dodo after his “joke” about homophobic child-abuse, we need something better. Ellen and The Rock hail from both sides of the political aisle. That’s right, The Rock is a conservative, if more of a California conservative. He is currently registered as an Independent. They are both deeply charismatic, widely beloved despite political views, and incredibly famous. Full disclosure: I had considered both Ellen and The Rock separately. That was before I saw Chrissy Teigen tweet that they would make an amazing hosting team. So Chrissy deserves the credit for this suggestion. I just enthusiastically support it. You’d have an easier time listing the people who don’t like The Rock or Ellen than the ones who do. ARIANA GRANDE by Emily Trainham Kevin Hart was going to host the Oscars, but now he’s not, because it’s 2018 and homophobia isn’t cool. In trying to think of a suitable replacement for him, we have to think of popular comedians, since those are usually the types who get such a gig. So let’s see, comedians who get a lot of attention … there’s Ellen, of course, but she hosted not too long ago. There’s been a ton of talk about Louis CK and Bill Cosby lately, but, uh, they’re probably not available. Ooh, you know who else has been in the news lately who can be funny from time to time? Pete Davidson! He’s on Saturday Night Live, the kids seem to like him, he might be a fresh new pick for … oh, wait. Ariana Grande. Ariana Grande should be the new host. Sorry, Pete, for making you just a stepping stone to the real answer here, but if the Academy wants someone fresh and exciting and entertaining, Ariana is clearly the answer. She can act, she can sing, she can dance – she’s got it all. She’d bring in a whole new audience, and you know she’d have some killer jokes up her undoubtedly fashionable sleeves. Actually, why wasn’t Ariana Grande the first choice of host? Why isn’t Ariana Grande the first choice for everything? Make it so, Academy.

Sarah Hyland to Trolls: Your Horrible Negative Words Have Broken Me

Tragedy struck this weekend as Sarah Hyland lost her 14-year-old cousin in a car accident . Unfortunately, her sadness was compounded when a request to help her grieving relatives provoked a bitter backlash. Now, Sarah is sharing her distress and taking a break from social media. “You guys finally did it,” Sarah tweeted this week. A lot of people tweet hate in the hopes of ruining a vulnerable celebrity’s day. They must be patting themselves on the back right about now. “Your horrible negative ignorant words have broken me,” Sarah reveals. She asks: “Happy?” “Staying offline for a while,” Sarah announces. She does, possibly out of contractual obligations, have a planned exception to that step back. “I have a special announcement and video releasing on Wednesday I believe,” she writes. She is clearly dealing with a lot of strong, negative emotions. “So,” she concludes sadly. “There’s that.” Some people — perhaps some of the same haters responsible for the initial backlash — were less than sympathetic. “You only have yourself to blame for this backlash, unless there’s some massive detail we’re all missing,” snarled one reply. “Asking complete strangers to contribute to the funeral expenses of your own family member which you could easily pay for yourself is low-class and unconscionable,” the hater claimed. Others tempered their criticisms. “Not all of it is hate, some is genuine concern and condolences,” another wrote. “Some are questioning why you have to ask for help for such a tragic private family matter?” the tweet asked. “And yes, some is incredibly hateful,” they acknowledged. “Good luck with your life, live it well.” More fans rallied to support Sarah Hyland and to disparage her haters. “She shared the link that his family made to support the funeral,” pointed out a fan. “She more than likely has already helped the family out tremendously,” the tweet guesses. “Everyone commenting can stop being insensitive,” the fan continues. “And let her mourn the loss of her loved one.” The fan correctly points out: “Just because she has the money doesn’t mean they do.” “Don’t let these horrid monsters online break you,” another writes. “They aren’t worth it.” “But take some time to take care of yourself and your family,” the tweet concludes. “That’s what is important.” To simplify things, Sarah asked fans to consider donating to cover her young cousin’s funeral expenses. Some fans were outraged that a famous actress who is genuinely rich — and just got done vacationing in a private villa in the Virgin Islands — wants their money. They think that she should pay for it herself or shut the frick up, essentially. While it’s true that Sarah has an estimated net worth of about $9 million, we don’t know that much about her finances. Net worth is not the same thing as having a money bin like Scrooge McDuck. Net worth and liquid assets are not synonyms. We also don’t know the behind-the-scenes details of how she gets along with her family. Some people who acquire wealth have to set boundaries to stop their own families from milking them dry.  Maybe Sarah’s had a problem like that in the past. And, as her defenders suggest, perhaps she has already contributed, or has promised to contribute to the funeral costs. Who knows? What we can say for certain is that there is an easy solution when you see someone ask for money and you don’t think that you should give them money. Just don’t give them money. But whatever you do, please do not direct hate and vitriol at someone who is mourning the death of a child in their family.
