The following day, Gary learned that this same brother passed away after a blood clot triggered a heart attack. After laying his brother to rest, Gary With Da Tea returned to his treatment and to work because he just did what he had to do. Kanye West has never been one to hold back. Holding back actually goes against everything he stands for. He’s always been ready and willing to discuss so many of his thoughts and feelings, even if those thoughts and feelings are controversial, upsetting, or just plain wrong. Remember when he said that slavery was “a choice” ? Those aren’t the words of a man who watches what he says. But in a series of tweets he made yesterday, he’s opening up a lot, even for him. Just be warned, the subject matter is actually pretty dark. He kicked things off by giving some general tips — he told his followers to “love everyone,” “stop trying start doing,” and to “break the status quo.” He also advised to “Trust your feelings don’t calculate your perception.” Then, a couple of hours after that, he started to tell a story. “I saw the Alexander McQueen documentary and I connected with his journey,” he wrote. “I know how it feels to want to take your life back into your own hands even if it means taking your own life.” So sad, right? But if you’re familiar with Alexander McQueen, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that Kanye identifies with him. McQueen, of course, was a fashion designer. He had his own label, but also worked as the chief designer for Givenchy for several years. His designs were unique, as were his shows, so much that eccentric celebrities like David Bowie and Lady Gaga used his work in their music videos and tours. But, as Kanye mentioned in his tweet, he ended up committing suicide in 2010 . Friends claimed that he’d been deeply unhappy leading up to his death, and that he’d also been doing lots of drugs. You see now how Kanye could relate? “To make this clear and not weird,” he continued after his McQueen tweets, “I’ve had these kinds of thoughts and I’m going to tell you things I’ve done to stay in a content place.” He followed up with “How to NOT kill yourself pt 1,” which is “Avoid being around people who make you want to kill yourself.” We’re not sure if that’s all there is to it for him or if he just got distracted, but he hasn’t elaborated any further on the topic. He didn’t reveal when he dealt with suicidal thoughts, but it’s easy to imagine that could have been part of the issues he faced in 2016 that led to his hospitalization. We’ve heard a lot about that time in Kanye’s life, but the general consensus is that he suffered a complete mental breakdown . Several factors could have contributed to the breakdown, like Kim Kardashian being robbed at gunpoint in Paris just a month before. At the time, sources claimed that he was used to Kim being the strong, supportive one, so when she needed him to be strong for her, it was too much for him. The anniversary of his mother’s death was also right around this time, so that had to have been an added bit of sadness. Kanye was on tour then, and he left a couple of concerts early and sometimes spent more time ranting about Jay Z than rapping, and he ended up canceling the tour altogether . Immediately after that, he assaulted an employee at a gym, an ambulance was called for a “psychiatric emergency,” and that was that. It’s been nearly two years since then, and though he’s definitely had his ups and downs, he’s never been that down since. Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Stevie J managed to avoid jail time for his hefty child support debt, but his life is still about to change forever. On Tuesday, he and on-again girlfriend Faith Evans were tweeting their love for each other. The two of them got married in a private ceremony. But there may be a little hitch in their marriage … courtesy of Joseline Hernandez. TMZ reports that Stevie J and Faith Evans applied for a marriage license in Las Vegas. The license would be good for one year, so the two could have planned their nuptials for any time before or including the beginning of summer in 2019. On Tuesday, Stevie tweeted: “I love you Faith Renee Jordan.” Faith tweeted back: “I love you back Steven Aaron Jordan.” We’re not sure if wedding vows count if they’re on Twitter, but that’s okay … There’s no mystery of when the wedding ceremony will be. TMZ quickly followed up with an update: Stevie J and Faith went through with it and got married. Apparently, Stevie and Faith held their wedding ceremony in their hotel room on Tuesday night, around 10:30 in the eventing. That was the very same day on which they filed for their marriage license in Clark County (in which Las Vegas resides). We know that it’s a little sudden — especially since it’s Stevie’s first marriage. But … it’s Vegas. (But, hey, it’s not like they just met — just over a year ago, Faith Evans and Stevie J were on the outs ) As we mentioned, this is Stevie’s first marriage. This is Faith’s third. She had been married to Todd Russaw until 2011 … and, of course, to Notorious B.I.G. Over the past year, Stevie and Faith have gone from being split to openly flirting on Leave It To Stevie . And now … they’re married. Though, to be clear, those “I love you” tweets are the closest that these two have come to making an announcement. But we mentioned that there was a twist. This marriage is off to a rough start. Why? Because Stevie’s ex, Joseline Hernandez, decided to expose some alleged texts that Stevie appears to have sent her just a month earlier. In texts from June 17, someone saved to Joseline’s phone as “A–hole,” who is implied to be Stevie J, wrote to Joseline. The text asks: “Will you marry me?” Joseline replies: “I’m actually trying to marry someone else I really like. I’m sorry. I tried it with you. I’m liking someone else a lot.” In a series of replies, Stevie is shown to have written: “Coo. Damn. I love you Joseline. You stupid little b–ch.” Joseline, clearly feeling petty, shared a screencap of this conversation on Instagram, adding: “Happy honey moon!” As they say, Joseline had time . Now, anyone with a few minutes to spare can fabricate text messages, but most people would say that it’s not worth the backlash to fabricate something personal like this. The water from the lake was highly corrosive causing hazardous levels of lead to link into Flint’s water supply poisoning its residents. The residents fought tooth and nail just recognize the problem and bring national attention to the crisis. Despite claims of the water being safe to drink may residents still don’t trust the city’s drinking water. After being challenged on Twitter, Tesla CEO Elon Musk says he is willing to help those still suffering in Flint. Please consider this a commitment that I will fund fixing the water in any house in Flint that has water contamination above FDA levels. No kidding. — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 11, 2018 Musk fresh off being in the news for his submarine idea to help the now rescued Thai soccer team trapped in a cave promised in a Tweet: “Please consider this a commitment that I will fund fixing the water in any house in Flint that has water contamination above FDA levels. No kidding.” Michigan’s state government recently ended a program that supplied a free bottled water to residents, despite the fact, there are still residents complaining of unusable water. Musk’s help whether or not its a PR move would definitely be more than welcomed by the people of Flint. Musk also stated in related tweets that “Most houses in Flint have safe water, but they’ve lost faith in govt test results. Some houses are still outliers,” and encouraged those who feel their water is still bad to share their test results and he “will send someone to install a water filter.” He also promised to create a specific email, flint@x.com when he has an opportunity to do so when he returns from China. Many a season has been telegraphed by The Bachelorette spoilers beforehand, but this one feels a whole lot different for several reasons. Thanks to the nature of the Internet and the (purported) winner himself, we may be witnessing a relationship that was over before it began. If you dig hard enough, Bachelorette spoilers are out there every year, and not that hard to find … but only if you’re so inclined. You typically have to at least go out of your way to visit one of the notable celebrity gossip sites that post this inside information. Not this season. Thanks, ironically, to the show’s increasing popularity with age on social media, keeping secrets a lot is harder for producers. As such, numerous celebrity news sites – including perhaps the biggest of them all in TMZ – revealed the ending very early. Not just rumor-style “spoilers” either. We’re talking about photos that reveal the final rose recipient as none other than (spoiler) … Garrett Yrigoyen. Okay, so what’s the problem? Don’t we often watch the show for the drama and all the twists and turns, even if we know the outcome? Yes, but again, this season is a bit different, because … well, Garrett Yrigoyen has been under intense scrutiny since day one. If you missed the controversy surrounding Garrett’s Instagram activity, the guy “liked” a whole bunch of things that are pretty offensive. We’re talking anti-immigration, fat-shaming, and transphobic memes, and pics suggesting Parkland student David Hogg is a “crisis actor.” Those posts originated from a conservative Instagram account titled MericaSupplyCo, not Garrett, but dude hit the heart icon often. AGAIN, hasn’t this happened before? Aren’t off-screen social media scandals involving contestants almost an annual thing? Yes. But … As was the case last year with Lee Garrett’s racist tweets surfacing before Rachel Lindsay’s season, ABC had to know about it. In Lee’s case, he might have even been cast because of it, knowing it would inflame racial tensions before be was dispatched. Pretty bad if you think about it, but at least the point was for him to be dispatched, be labeled a racist, then beg for forgiveness. In Garrett Yrigoyen’s case, his cringe-worthy likes are a much bigger issue because … he’s not here to get kicked off the show. He received Becca’s first impression rose on the season premiere, a distinction that often goes to eventual final rose winners. Garrett Yrigoyen is also being given very positive, go-the-distance style treatment from the editors in general. Cringe-worthy. After reports of Yrigoyen’s Instagram activity went viral this spring, he went into damage control mode and posted an apology. According to Garrett, he didn’t realize “the power of a mindless double tap,” and said this is “not a true reflection of me and my morals.” Becca, too, came to his defense. Kufrin said all the right things, encouraging the audience to be “open” to every contestant, despite all the noise on social media. She cleverly mentioned that filming the show was great in that it let her get to know the guys “without any added fodder or any distraction.” Sticking to the script, Becca swears she fell in love with two men and people need to watch The Bachelorette to see it all play out. She promises she got to know the “real” Garrett, but seamlessly pivots to the rest of the men and the “journey” as a whole. All of which rings hollow. Becca’s attempts to shield Garrett from backlash – and distance herself from him – are as obvious and desperate as it gets. Will it work in the end? That remains to be seen. Will Bachelor Nation accept this man as her true love, rather than a closeted bigot and misogynist? Can Becca herself reconcile her undoubtedly strong feelings for Garrett with the fact that he’s a racist conspiracy theorist? According to FOX 4 News , on Wednesday Michelle Booker-Hicks went to get gas at a Dallas station when she saw a man get into her car with her 2-year-old and 4-year-old sons. She ran back to her car, hopped in and grabbed her gun out of the glove department as the driver sped down the street. Booker-Hicks then shot the carjacker right under his eye. “I proceeded to jump in my backseat and told the gentleman to stop, to get out the car. He would not get out of the car. He turned around and looked at me,” she told FOX 4. “I reached over the armrest to get my glove compartment and that’s when I fired at him once I got the gun from my glove compartment.” After being shot, the carjacker crashed the car into a fence. Thankfully, Booker-Hicks and her children weren’t hurt. The man, later identified as Ricky Wright, was arrested and taken to the hospital. Booker-Hicks stressed that all she cared about in that moment was her children. “I’m not a killer or anything, but I do believe in defending what’s mine,” she said. “I hope that woke him up.” An attorney not involved with her case told FOX 4 he doesn’t think the mother will face any charges for her actions. When children are involved, obviously the authorities are going to be very understanding of that,” Toby Shook said. “The law says that if a reasonable person in her situation would have acted the same way, found it immediately necessary to protect herself or a third party, in this case her children, then that’s legitimate self-defense.” However, Booker-Hicks doesn’t have a license to carry, but the state of Texas has laws that allow those to carry guns inside their car even without a license.
