As the blockbuster prepares to hit digital HD platforms (iTunes, Amazon) on May 8, the director of the film, Ryan Coogler, has revealed a deleted scene. It involves Danai Gurira ‘s character Okoye and Daniel Kaluuya ‘s character W’Kabi getting into an argument. According to Coogler, the scene was meant to reveal the two characters were married, yet had dividing beliefs. Check out Danai and Daniel’s amazing performances below. Look, we really don’t want to do this. We don’t want to write about Kanye West. The rapper is either suffering from a mental breakdown, in which case he needs professional help… … or he’s just saying crazy and disturbing stuff to build up publicity for his next two albums, in which case: eff you, dude. But the rapper, who can’t stop fawning over Donald Trump , said something so ridiculous during a visit to TMZ headquarters on Tuesday afternoon that we can’t help ourselves. We have to write about it. We would not be doing our job as a celebrity gossip website otherwise. In an outlandish nutshell, West said African-Americans only had themselves to blame for being enslaved. “I am in hip-hop, but I’m not just in hip-hop,” Kanye opened, while talking to the hosts of TMZ Live. He then continues: “I’m a black person in the black community, but I’m not just that. I feel like one thing is that people try to minimize me… I’m always going to represent that, but I also represent the world.” Okay, we guess. Go on, ‘Ye… “You hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years? That sounds like a choice,” he said, to the consternation and confusing of those around him, adding: “Like, that was there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all? It’s like, we’re mentally in prison. I like the word ‘prison’ because slavery is too direct to the idea of blacks. “Like Holocaust is Jews, slavery is blacks. So prison is something that unites us as one race, whites and blacks being one race. The human race.” Where do we even begin with nonsense such as this? For historical fact, the Civil War ended in 1861. Backtrack 400 years and the the year is 1461, three decades before Christopher Columbus set foot on America and about three-hundred years before America defeated Great Britain in the Revolutionary War. So we have no clue where Kanye got his “400 years” from. Putting that aside, however, it should go without saying that even the mere hint of slavery as a “choice” made by black people is incredibly offensive. Which is why TMZ employee Van Lathan (pictured below) stepped in. “Do you feel that I am being free and that I’m thinking free?” Kanye asked the room, which promoted Lathan to say the following: I actually don’t feel think you’re thinking anything. I think what you’re doing right now is actually the absence of thought. The reason that I feel that is because Kanye, you’re entitled to you’re opinion. You’re entitled to believe whatever you want, but there is fact and real world real life consequence behind everything that you just said. While you are making music and being an artist and living the life that you earned by being a genius, the rest of us in society have to deal with these threats to our lives. We have to deal with the marginalization that’s come from the 400 years of slavery that you said for our people, was a choice. Frankly, I’m disappointed, I’m appalled and brother, I’m unbelievably hurt by the fact that you have morphed into something, to me, that’s not real. Now, yes, this all took place in front of TMZ cameras and could all have been some staged publicity stunt. But even so, Lathan says everything perfectly here. It’s not “freedom” of thought, as Kanye likes to say, to just spout anything that enters your head. That’s sort of what a mentally imbalanced person does, screaming anything and everything without stopping to think if it actually makes sense. It’s especially galling, as Lathan also points out, for a mega rich celebrity to be saying this stuff because, let’s face it, Kanye West is going to be just fine. He won’t be negatively affected in any real way by Donald Trump’s policy, but low-income African-Americans will be. It’s easy for Kanye to sit in his ivory tower and saddle up on his high horse and show support for Trump or say something dumb like slavery was a “choice.” He’ll just go home to his mansion, laugh at his number of Twitter followers and make love to his millionaire wife. Twitter is very much Team Van when it comes to this back-and-forth. For someone who considers himself to be oh so “real,” Kanye lives in nothing resembling the real world. After his exchange with Lathan, West walked across the newsroom and said to him: “Bro, I’m sorry I hurt you.” So there he goes. There’s a start. If Kanye rethinks pretty much every attitude he has on life and says the same thing to the rest of the country, we may actually get somewhere.

And here’s why: Earlier this week, it was confirmed by multiple outlets that Miranda Lambert is dating Evan Felker. On its own, this development isn’t particularly shocking, considering Felker fronts the band that has been opening for Lambert on tour. HOWEVER, both Radar Online and Us Weekly report that Lambert very likely broke up Felker’s marriage by sleeping with the musician, as the former website has even obtained the artist’s divorce papers. They cite Felkner’s “abandonment” of ex-wife Staci Nelson and they were filed in February, right around the time Felkner allegedly got with Lambert. As you’ve probably heard, Kanye West has been making quite a splash on Twitter this week. At first, fans were excited to see the outspoken rapper tweeting again after a lengthy hiatus. Now, many of them probably wish he would take another long break from social media. Kanye’s return to Twitter was like watching someone show up to a party with a case of booze to the delight of all the revelers … and then proceeding to drink the whole by himself and pass out under the coffee table. The excitement of those early hours when the rapper first started posting his stream-of-consciousness observations about the world around him quickly gave way to concern for Kanye’s mental state. While there have been some legitimate reasons to question West’s stability – such as the revelation that he recently battled an opioid addiction – much of what we’ve seen over the past few days has been nothing more than Kanye being Kanye. Of course, the tweets that have received the most attention have had to do with West’s love of Donald Trump , but his support for the president really shouldn’t come as a surprise. For one thing, Kanye famously visited Trump in Manhattan during the president’s hectic transition to the White House. But more importantly – is anyone who’s familiar with the man’s personality actually shocked that Kanye is drawn to a guy who plastered his name all over New York City in giant gold letters? That’s basically the most Kanye action ever carried out by someone not named Kanye. To be fair, some people might be taken aback by the extent of ‘Ye’s love (his word, not ours) of Trump. As you can see, Kanye really stirred the pot by spending much of today doubling and tripling down on his esteem for 45: “You don’t have to agree with trump but the mob can’t make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone,” West tweeted, before acknowledging that he “doesn’t agree with” everything the president does. Yeezy further confused the issue by revealing that he also has deep affection for Hillary Clinton. “If your friend jumps off the bridge you don’t have to do the same. Ye being Ye is a fight for you to be you. For people In my life the idea of Trump is pretty much a 50 50 split but I don’t tell a Hillary supporter not to support Hillary. I love Hillary too,” he wrote. Among those who seem a bit perplexed by Kanye’s latest tweet-storm is none other than the rapper’s wife, Kim Kardashian: Kim apparently intervened today in order to ensure that her husband was being as clear as possible with both his longtime fans and the MAGA folk who just decided today that “Flashing Lights” is an all-time banger. “My wife just called me and she wanted me to make this clear to everyone. I don’t agree with everything Trump does. I don’t agree 100% with anyone but myself,” West tweeted today. Naturally, this led to another round of Kim-Kanye divorce rumors , but it seems that Mrs. Kardashian-West is actually taking her husband’s political eccentricities in stride. Earlier this afternoon, in response to jokes about his imprisonment in “the sunken place” – a reference to Jordan Peele’s Get Out – Kanye tweeted a photo of his lavish home, along with a caption reading: “Do this look like the sunken place.” The photo was retweeted by Kim, who added her own caption: “Ummm babe. We had a rule to not show our home on social media! Soooo can we now allow KUWTK filming in the home?” Kim was quick to clap back at critics who suggested her remark was anything more than a joke. There’s so much insanity taking place on Ye’s page these days that it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that he also promised to turn the Grammys into the “Yammys” and claimed that he’s made more money from selling sneakers than the most successful footwear peddler of them all. “I am currently the single highest paid person in footwear. That means I make more money on shoes than Michael Jordan,” he tweeted. Whatever you say, ‘Ye. Just make sure to take some time to record a little new music soon, and if you want to load up with high-pitched soul samples, a la The College Dropout , that would be just super with us.
