Catherine Hardwicke Expressed Her Feelings Over Lutz and Greene’s Salary Dispute

Director of the first Twilight film Catherine Hardwicke, an American production designer and film director, expressed her feelings towards the current salary dispute that involves Ashley Greene who plays “Alice Cullen” and Kellan Lutz who plays “Emmett Cullen” in the movie series Twilight. “It would really break my heart if they were replaced, but it could happen. Things could turn ugly quickly,” Hardwicke said this weekend at the Twilight Convention in Vancouver, Canada. Lutz and Greene reportedly had a three-picture deal, which already expired. They are trying to score paydays of about $1.5 million as work begins on the fourth movie installment “Breaking Dawn”. Hardwicke says the young actors might not even be all that involved in the negotiations. “They have all these people and outside influences telling you what to do,” Hardwicke said. “They tell you to hold out for this much because you’re such an important part of the franchise, and everyone is telling you to ask for more.” But it’s a dangerous game, she adds – pointing to the case of Rachelle Lefevre, who was replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard for Eclipse. “A lot of stuff can get mishandled and misunderstood,” she said. “That is what happened with Rachelle Lafevre.” Do they actually deserve more money? Hard to say. “Probably they do deserve more money, on one level,” Hardwicke says. “But if everybody makes so much money then … [shrugs]. It is very complicated. Oh my, it is such a mess. By Eric Ditzian Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” Photo: Summit Entertainment Last week on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” Robert Pattinson joked that the truth about his are-they-or-aren’t-they relationship with Kristen Stewart is that she’s pregnant. Responded KStew, “He really loves to shock people because he thinks it’s funny.” That sort of charged banter between the two “Twilight” stars speaks to one of the biggest mysteries behind the scenes of the vampire franchise: No one really knows if Pattinson and Stewart are dating. And that relationship ambiguity has only increased now that photos of the two out in public together are harder to come by. “I don’t know if this is the actual reason why, but we have gotten better at hiding over the last year,” Pattinson told USA Today directly after the “Oprah” taping. “That’s totally the reason,” Stewart added. “They just make up a story to go along with the pictures. If they never get the picture, there’s no story. We are just good hiders now.” It’s surprising, to some extent, that she would even address any aspect of her relationship with Pattinson. Earlier this month, Stewart told Elle, “I would never cheapen my relationships by talking about them.” And last year, she slammed the romance rumors by saying, “I probably would’ve answered it if people hadn’t made such a big deal about it. But I’m not going to give the fiending an answer. I know that people are really funny about ‘Well, you chose to be an actor, why don’t you just f—ing give your whole life away?! Can I have your firstborn child?’ ” Yet the speculation continues, perhaps with good reason. The USA Today article notes that for a portion of the interview, Stewart placed her hand on Pattinson’s leg. Casual gesture or flirty signal? She also happens to know quite a bit about the more intimate material in Pattinson’s upcoming film, “Bel Ami,” in which he shares heated scenes with Kristin Scott Thomas, Uma Thurman and Christina Ricci. “[T]hey’re not like typical love scenes at all,” Pattinson said. “They’re all a little weird,” Stewart chimed in. “A little edgy. ‘Eclipse’ Clip Shows Volturi Scheming In Seattle

By Eric Ditzian Photo: Summit Entertainment Robert Pattinson , Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner don’t need to get all the attention, do they? With the “Twilight” trio set to appear together Thursday (May 13) on an episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” Summit Entertainment released a brand-new clip from “Eclipse” in which none of them appears. Instead the footage, which debuted as an iTunes exclusive , focuses on Dakota Fanning’s Jane and her crew of Volturi vampire badasses, giving us our closest look yet at their roles in “Eclipse.” And the 40-second clip is doubly interesting because this scene does not appear in the book on which the film is based. The scene opens as the Volturi, the Italy-based royalty of the vampire world, look down upon a collection of newborn vampires sowing chaos on the city streets. These just-turned bloodsuckers were created by Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard) with the express purpose of destroying Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and his family, as well as Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart). The Volturi watch the Seattle newborns feed on humans, overturn cars and generally create an atmosphere of violent chaos. “They’ve already drawn too much attention,” Demetri (Charlie Bewley) says. “So has our inaction,” Felix (Daniel Cudmore) responds. “Others may begin to question the Volturi’s effectiveness.” But the diminutive Jane is not buying this call for a show of strength. “Let them,” she says, her blood-red eyes unblinking. Felix remains unsatisfied. “Maybe we should consult with Aro,” he suggests. It’s then that we see Jane’s abilities on full display. She can inflict incapacitating pain with only her thoughts — a special ability she developed after being burned at the stake as a child. As she holds Felix using only her mind, Jane’s brother Alec (Cameron Bright) looks on. “Aro’s decisions are being watched,” she says cryptically. “Either we let them do what they were created for, or we end them. By Josh Wigler Taylor Lautner Photo: Cohen/ WireImage Leave it to talk-show host Oprah Winfrey to ask Taylor Lautner the question on the minds of every member of Team Jacob: “If you were choosing the ideal woman for yourself, who would that be?” Lautner, 18, taped an appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” recently alongside his “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson to promote the release of the franchise’s third installment in June. Although the full interview won’t air until Thursday (May 13), a clip from the episode shows Oprah asking Lautner to elaborate on “the qualities you’re looking for in a relationship.” “Obviously, loyalty,” the “Twilight” star answered after some thought. “Honesty.” There are other qualities that Lautner is seeking, according to the actor’s onscreen romantic rival, Robert Pattinson. “[She] must like beef patties,” he joked of Lautner’s widely publicized “Twilight” fitness diet, prompting an amused Stewart to agree: “[She] must be able to make delicious beef patties.” Beyond loyalty, honesty and beef patties, Lautner said there’s one other crucial quality he looks for in any potential relationship. “Really important to me is somebody who can totally let loose and pretty much be themselves and have fun,” he said. Romance isn’t necessarily the most pressing issue on the young actor’s plate at the moment, of course. In the last few months, Lautner has committed himself to plenty of movie projects including “Stretch Armstrong,” “Abduction,” “Cancun” and “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” the fourth and final installment in Summit Entertainment’s supernatural romance franchise.
