Vine’s recent “sex scandal” became a nightmare for parent company Twitter after an adult video appeared in the app’s “Editor’s Picks” this week. Twitter rushed to keep its younger users away from questionable content Tuesday, while Vine announced it had blocked searches for adult material. Hashtags like #sex and #porn no longer turn up results. The social network, currently valued at $9 billion, recently tuned up its photo capabilities to compete with Instagram and launched its video service , Vine, last week. Vine lets users make and share six-second looped videos. Some of its users turned it to less tasteful ends, however, a problem highlighted when Vine accidentally featured a video called “Dildoplay” in its Editor’s Picks. Twitter apologized in a statement: “A human error resulted in a video with adult content becoming one of the videos in Editor’s Picks, and upon realizing this mistake we removed the video immediately.” “We apologize to our users for the error.” It wasn’t necessarily a one-off, however. Vinepeek, a new site that lets you watch streams of so-called Vines from around the world, began to feature porn as well. Over the weekend technology websites reported that a simple search for “#porn” in the new app brought up many videos with, yes, hardcore porn. Funny how that works. Vine says that users can report this content and the video will be covered with a warning message and that if a video violates its guidelines it will be removed. “Uploaded videos reported and determined to violate our guidelines will be removed, and the user account that posted the video may be terminated,” Twitter said. Vine’s Terms of Service does not explicitly say anything about pornography or nudity, however, and clearly there are filtering needs that must be met here.

As many feared after her hospitalization just eight weeks into her pregnancy, Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans reportedly suffered a miscarriage early Friday. “Jenelle lost the baby this morning,” a friend of hers tells celeb gossip site Radar Online , and her Twitter, while not saying so explicitly, certainly suggests as much. The 21-year-old has has a tumultuous two weeks, to say the least. Since announcing she was pregnant, she’s accused her husband of cheating, said she’s getting a divorce, filed assault charges against him, and been hospitalized. “She’s sad and upset, but she’ll make it through,” the friend said. Following Courtland Rogers ‘ wild night out boozing Sunday – which he admits (he denies cheating or assaulting her) the couple’s 51-day marriage imploded. The MTV star’s friend said she hasn’t spoken to her estranged husband at all today and so he hasn’t been told about Jenelle Evans ‘ miscarriage yet. If he reads Twitter, however, he’ll get a sense of what’s going on: Reading between the lines, and given the stress she’s been under over the past five or six days, it seems like Radar ‘s report is probably legitimate. We wish it wouldn’t be, but that’s the impression we get. For those unfamiliar, the man referenced in several of her recent Tweets is Gary Head, who was engaged to Jenelle last year before she married Rogers. He denies they’re physically involved – as Rogers has already implied – but he’s clearly back in her life, for better or worse. She’s pretty open about that. Remember when NFL baller Darnell Dockett got clowned on Twitter for trying to take Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron’s girlfriend? Now he says she’s not his type! Via DailyMail : When Arizona Cardinals defensive end Darnell Dockett asked Katherine Webb out to a str!p club during her now famous appearance on ESPN, he met the wrath of her quarterback boyfriend. And Dockett will no doubt enrage Webb’s beau, Alabama player A.J. McCarron, once more – after he claimed: ‘I would have got her if I really wanted her.’ Speaking on a Phoenix radio show, Dockett also said 23-year-old Webb, who is the reigning Miss Alabama, is not his type, joking that he liked girls ‘with a couple stab wounds [or] bullet holes’. I’m not into the thinner girls and the modeling thing like that. I like hood chicks. I like girls with a couple stab wounds, bullet holes, been knocked up a few times… I like girls who you know have bad credit when they’re 21.’ He added that the Twitter messages were just a joke. ‘I was just laughing at people responding because people were really thinking that I was gonna put my number on Twitter,’ he said. ‘Anybody that knows Darnell Dockett – the real me, not just the football player – anyone that knows me personally knows there is never a dull moment in my life… I’m always thinking of the next trick.’ He went on: ‘She’s a very beautiful girl… I just wanted to take her out of her rich environment and bring her to get some of these garlic wings and barbecue wings and go see a few strippers and things like that so she can appreciate what she’s doing.’ Webb, who has since had jobs offers from reality television shows and Donald Trump, did not take the tweets so light-heartedly, however. ‘That is not attractive at all,’ she told Esquire. ‘It’s very disrespectful and A.J. did not like it at all. Clearly, the news says I’m his girlfriend, so it’s very inappropriate for another guy to tweet me and purposely try and create drama.’ Homegirl needs to lighten up! With Manti Te’o expected to speak later today and address the girlfriend hoax that has left a country baffled, let’s turn our attention for a moment over to Ronaiah Tuiasosopo . A 22-year old whose relatives include a pair of former NFL players, Tuiasosopo played high school football in California and is reportedly a huge fan of USC. Many believe he has either been working with Te’o on this cover-up or he’s the “Catfish” behind the scam and has been posing as Lennay Kekua for years in order to punish Te’o for choosing Notre Dame over USC. The original Deadspin article that broke this hoax lists Tuiasosopo as the individual who obtained the photo that was believed to be Lennay, the one associated with her Twitter and Facebook accounts (above). TMZ, meanwhile, has posted a long article that details the story of a Notre Dame fan who thought she was interacting online for weeks with Lennay’s sister – but when she arranged to meet the sibling at a football game, Tuiasosopo showed up instead. Ronaiah “made it seem as if he was a member of Kekua’s family,” the TMZ report reads, with that site’s source providing it with the phone number she was given to call Lennay’s sister. It is registered to a man named Titus Tuiasosopo, Ronaiah’s dad. Tuiasosopo has not spoken about his alleged connection to the hoax yet, but the question at this point doesn’t seem to be whether or not he was involved. Merely whether or not he was working with or against Manti Te’o.
Amour director Michael Haneke is aware of the parody Twitter account that bears his name, and, as you might expect from a filmmaker who’s made an incredibly intense, Oscar-nominated film about love, life and death, he’s not too worked up about it. @Michael_Haneke has been live on the social media site since November and has amassed more than 15,000 followers by adopting a voice that couldn’t be more at odds with the 70-year-old Austrian filmmaker’s bleak, unsentimental perspective: The Twitter-verse version of Haneke sounds like a tequila-drinking, hip-hop-loving frat boy twink who’s as contemporary as the real director is old school. He also loves to zing Terrence Malick , to remind Ben Affleck that he was not nominated for a Best Director Oscar and to gloat over the five Oscar nominations that Amour got on Jan. 10. That means a lot of laughs, although Haneke doesn’t necessarily see the humor in it. At the Golden Globes on Sunday night, The Los Angeles Times asked the real Haneke about the Twitter parody, and the director told the paper that his students at the Vienna Film Academy where he teaches, “said there was a weird Twitter account.” Then he added: “But I’m not that interested in that kind of thing. It’s not for me.” He doesn’t sound all that incensed, and he shouldn’t be.
