The alleged greatest 3-D film ever made held its world premiere today in Moscow, where Michael Bay and his Transformers: Dark of the Moon cast swept into town to kick-off the Moscow International Film Festival. Hit the jump to ogle Shia LaBeouf , Tyrese Gibson , Josh Duhamel , John Malkovich , McDreamy himself , the guys from Linkin Park , and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley ‘s sheer couture number on the red carpet.
‘Rosie is going to surprise a lot of people,’ ‘Dark of the Moon’ co-star Tyrese Gibson tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” Photo: Paramount Pictures Much ado has been made about the upcoming “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.” From casting to the story line to the 3-D, it seems nothing about the filmmaking process on the third installment of the franchise has gone unnoticed. Thankfully, with the film’s June 29 release date quickly approaching, the castmembers have not only been out promoting the movie, but also dispelling some of the anxiety and nitpicking that has surfaced on the Interwebs. Regarding the casting, specifically the addition of Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley after the departure of former “Transformers” “It” girl Megan Fox, the action flick’s male stars expressed nothing but love and admiration for the first-time actress. “Rosie is going to surprise a lot of people,” Tyrese Gibson told MTV News recently. “I have to go on record and say that she did not replace Megan Fox. She’s a brand-new character; her name is Carly in the movie,” he explained. “Her name is not Mikaela, it’s Carly,” he reiterated, referring to Fox’s character in the previous installments. “She’s going to surprise a lot of people with her focus and energy that she’s bringing to the franchise. “She was very focused, very classy, very easy to work with,” he continued. “I was really glad she came aboard.” Shia LaBeouf said that while Megan Fox seemed a bit overwhelmed by all of the sudden attention she received post-“Transformers,” Huntington-Whiteley, with her experience as a swimsuit and underwear model, came to the set fully prepared for what would be required of her in the summer blockbuster. “She completely owns her sexuality, which I think helps especially on a movie like this where it’s a blanket summer movie and there are certain requirements of a woman in a summer movie,” LaBeouf explained. “She owns her sexuality and she doesn’t shy from it. I think it was a harder gap to cross, in terms of Megan going from complete obscurity to being the sexiest woman in the world in a movie. [It] is a greater leap and transition than to go from being a Victoria’s Secret model to then being the hottest actress in the world,” he added. “It’s an easier transition because she already had that in her pocket when she came to set. She was able to be strong in her femininity as opposed to trying to shy away from it. “[That attitude] helps everything,” he continued. “Especially with Mike [Bay] where conversations are blunt and they lack tact, and you’re in the middle of a firefight so it’s bare essentials. ” Do you think Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was a good choice to succeed Megan Fox? Last week, in a strange last-minute effort to promote Super 8 , Paramount released a spoiler-iffic video that explained the mystery creature the studio had been cleverly concealing in all promos until that point. And now, after Super 8 dominated the box office during its opening weekend, Star Trek actor Bruce Greenwood is coming forward to take credit for his own hush hush contribution to the J.J. Abrams homage to Steven Spielberg — specifically in shaping that previously mysterious creature. Major spoilers after the jump.
John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman are set to lend their voices to Wreck-It Ralph , Disney’s animated film about an old arcade game villain (a two-bit 8-bit?) trying to make good. The film will also feature Jack McBrayer and Jane Lynch in supporting roles, which means we may have to modify our list of the 10 Best Celebrity Voiceovers fairly soon. In fact, I want to modify it now: George Sanders was incredible as Shere Khan in The Jungle Book and deserves a spot. There! [ Coming Soon ]
With just over two weeks until the premiere of Transformers: Dark of the Moon , Paramount is has upped the anticipation factor by releasing more stills from the third (and Megan Fox-less ) installment of the big budget franchise. Tyrese Gibson just messed it up for all men during an interview on Wendy Williams ‘ talk show. The singer/actor said that men are expected to cheat on their women. Wendy asked Jody Tyrese, who was on the show promoting his new book How To Get Out Of Your Own Way , why men cheat… “I don’t have all the answers, but I can say that most mothers raised their daughters to believe that if you cook, clean, thoroughly take care of your man and go all out for your man, that should keep him home. Unfortunately that’s not the truth, but I will say to my daughter when she gets old and starts dating is, if you end up being cheated on, don’t own the cheat. Don’t make the cheat yours. It’s something in that skirt and those legs and whatever the case may be, and [he] decided to dip off. Does he see the value in his woman at home? Yes, but if he ends up dipping off, that spaghetti couldn’t keep him at home.” Wendy then asked if his wife cheated on him, would she get pass… “No way. See, it’s expected of men to cheat, even though all men don’t cheat. I can’t just generalize and say all men cheat, but it’s expected because it’s a part of our upbringingno listen if your in high school or in college, if one dude has sex with ten different women he is a hero, he’s the champion of the campus. If one woman has sex with ten different guys, they’re all kind of things in the book right?[…]Its just a part of what instilled in us growing up.” Watch the video below! Do you agree with Tyrese? New 30-second ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ trailer premieres during Super Bowl XLV By Aly Semigran A scene from “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” Photo: Paramount Just in case there wasn’t enough testosterone coursing through Super Bowl XLV, the preview trailer for “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” should have done the trick. The new 30-second trailer for the third “Transformers” installment brought with it a bevy of battling robots, concerned-looking humans (the movie’s stars Shia LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson, and Megan Fox’s replacement, Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley), and the general destruction director Michael Bay tends to bring along with any project. Unlike the movie’s first trailer , which has already hit theaters and features Neil Armstrong’s journey to the moon in 1969 turning out a little differently (apparently in Bay’s world, one small step for man was one giant step for sneaky robots), this spot was short, and for “Transformers” fans, pretty sweet. With a tagline that warns “On 7/1/11 Earth Will Go Dark” spliced in with all the action (and that’s really all there is, as not a single line of dialogue is uttered in the spot), viewers only saw blips of what can be expected on the big screen this summer. The preview for the not-yet-rated flick featured scenes of disarray and panic on the streets (at times looking awfully reminiscent of another summer blockbuster with a Super Bowl ad: “Battle: Los Angeles”), burning cities, helicopter collisions and a car crash, which transforms into, well, Transformers. And, of course, there’s the return of both Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. All this in the span of about 30 seconds, America! What did you think of the “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” trailer? This son-of-a-b*tch looks crazy as f*ck anyway: A Wilmette man beat his aunt to death with a baseball bat Saturday because he was tired of being “nagged” by his relative, police said Monday. About 4 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a possible homicide at 3115 Hill Lane in the northern suburb, according to a release from the Wilmette police department. There, police found 49-year-old Nancee Rapoport unconscious with severe head trauma. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she died from her injuries. A man on the scene told police that his nephew, 24-year-old Anthony Rapoport, called him and said he had killed someone inside the home before fleeing the scene. Officers found Anthony Rapoport a short time later with blood on his clothing, and he “admitted to striking the victim about the head with an aluminum baseball bat,” according to the release. The department had responded to the Rapoport residence on Christmas Eve as well, after the man and his aunt had an argument about doughnuts. He was arrested that day on an outstanding warrant for an aggravated assault case in Skokie, but posted bond Christmas morning and returned to the residence where he allegedly murdered his aunt. “The motive for the homicide appears to be the culmination of a series of ongoing minor disputes between the two parties,” police said in a release. After his arrest, Rapoport told investigators he was tired of being “nagged” by the victim. SMH Source
