Lakers Fan Snoop Dogg Challenges Donnie Wahlberg Over NBA Championships

Big Snoop Dogg pledges $20,000 to winner’s favorite charity. By Mawuse Ziegbe Snoop Dogg Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage No one can say Snoop Dogg doesn’t go hard for his city. Although his beloved Los Angeles Lakers currently are down 3 games to 2 against the Boston Celtics in the NBA finals, Snoop has taken to the Internet to voice his support for the Cali team in the NBA finals. He’s even taken on boy-bander and hard-core Boston fan Donnie Wahlberg and challenged the Celtics supporter to a bet over which team will take home the trophy. Snoop lays down the gauntlet in a video posted on his website , calling out Wahlberg and offering $20,000 to the charity of the winner’s choice. “What it do, Big Snoop Dogg, Lakers fan #1. Wahlberg what it do? Y’all want that bet? Let’s get it crackin’,” said Snoop. “20 Gs to your favorite charity, Lakers beat the Celtics, that’s what it do!” Comedian Mike Epps also repped for the Lakers and went at Beantown fans in the video. “Boston, y’all ain’t got nothin’ on ’em,” Epps jeered. “That cabbage green ain’t got sh– on that banana yellow, bitch!” Snoop ropes in Donnie’s brother Mark Wahlberg and Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White as well in another online video where he demands “I need some free UFC tickets to all the upcoming fights and I need to be on ‘Entourage,’ I need to get in a movie with you, Marky Mark.” The Doggfather and the New Kids on the Block singer also have been going at it on Twitter. After putting up the $20,000 wager, Snoop upped the stakes, tweeting to @DonnieWahlberg, “Letz turn thiz up. Loser has to wear the winners colors for a week too!” For his part, Wahlberg isn’t taking Snoop’s taunts lying down. “Question @snoopdogg how bout we add one more wrinkle to this bet…? Win or Lose we exchange check on stage @ Radio City Stage June 20th?” Wahlberg tweeted on Friday. “I’ll pay for the flight, rooms & expense. The loser steps on stage in the other [team’s] jersey to hand over the check!” New Kids on the Block is set to perform at New York’s Radio City Music Hall June 17 through June 19. But after the Celtics beat the Lakers in Game 5 on Sunday, Snoop Dogg kept it gentlemanly, tweeting , “Aight @donniewahlberg congrats green came strong but we goin 7 games!” Wahlberg graciously accepted the props and gave Snoop a friendly tip about how the Lakers could take it all. “Thanks for the congrats @snoopdogg! I think it could go 7 but somebody, besides KOBE, needs to step up for LA or we will win it all in 6!” Related Artists Snoop Dogg

UFC 115: Rich Franklin Knocks Out Chuck Liddell With Broken Arm…(REAL FIGHT VIDEO)

UFC 115: Rich Franklin With Broken Arm Knocks Out Chuck Liddell…(REAL FIGHT VIDEO) By Gareth A Davies Boxing and MMA June 13th, 2010 Could Chuck Liddell come back and deny his 40 years, prove that his punch resistance was not as vulnerable as many critics and fans had thought, and could he begin a campaign to re-unite himself with the UFC light-heavyweight title ? The answer was an emphatic ‘NO’ in Vancouver, where the Ultimate Fighting Championship made its debut with version 115. Liddell’s career is over. Or at least should be. UFC 115: Liddell Confident Against Franklin

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight king Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell vowed to come down hard on Rich “The Ace” Franklin in his first fight since his 14-month lay off from mixed martial arts. Liddel said he’s very much in shape, probably the best in his career. This, he said, spells trouble for Franklin, a former UFC champion himself. “I think I’m in the best shape I’ve been for a long time,” said The Iceman in a UFC promotional video. “He better be ready for me, I’m coming hard.” The former UFC champions will exchange blows at the ufc 115 live stream at the General Motors Place in the City of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Saturday. Liddell hasn’t fought since his technical knockout (TKO) loss to Mauricio Rua in UFC 97 in April 2009. But his stint in “Dancing with the Stars” has helped keep him in shape before training camp for UFC 115. The Iceman said he will use his “ever reliable” right hand, which he used to topple some of the best fighters in the Octagon such as Randy “The Natural” Couture and Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort. He said it will be a perfect foil for a left hander like Franklin. “I’ll always go back to the big right hand, especially with a south paw, there’s a lot of opportunities to do him with a right hand,” said Liddell, who has 21 wins against 7 losses. Franklin, meanwhile, is coming from a lay-off himself. The Ace, a former UFC middleweight champion, had spent some down time from MMA after undergoing hernia surgery. He claimed he wasn’t worried about what Liddell can do to him. “I’m not concerned about Chuck, I’m not worried about what Chuck has been doing, I gotta worry about what I’m doing,” said Franklin. The Ace said he will probably take advantage of the “weakness” in Liddell’s fighting stance with a lot of low kicks. “Chuck’s fighting stance is really a lot wider, especially on that front leg. We’re emphasizing the times that I can take advantage of that. We’re going to do a lot of inside movement, using jabs and feints to set up inside kicks,“ said Franklin, who has compiled a record of 27 victories, 5 defeats and 1 no contest (NC). UFC commentator Joe Rogan said the Liddell-Franklin fight will be a very interesting match up between a devastating puncher and technical stand-up fighter. “Chuck Liddell is one of the greatest knockout artist in the history of the sport. He has devastating power in his hands, his knees and his kicks… Rich Dranklin is the type of guy that’s gonna formula a really good game plan for a specific opponent. It’s going to be interesting to see how he’s gonna deal with the power of Chuck Liddell,” said Rogan. UFC 115: Liddell Confident Against Franklin is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading

Bradley Cooper Says Zach Galifianakis Is The ‘Toughest Guy’ At ‘A-Team’ Premiere

MTV Movie Awards nominee says not even his ‘A-Team’ co-stars could go toe-to-toe with bearded ‘Hangover’ actor. By Jocelyn Vena, with additional reporting by Lauren Davis Bradley Cooper Photo: Michael Caulfield/ Getty Images Bradley Cooper is kicking butt and taking names as Lt. Templeton “Face” Peck in “The A-Team.” But real life doesn’t always imitate art, as Cooper admitted he isn’t quite as tough as his onscreen Special Forces soldier. The real badass, he said, is his “The Hangover” co-star Zach Galifianakis . “No one’s tougher than Zach Galifianakis, who played Allen [in ‘The Hangover’], so I don’t even try to even compare anybody,” Cooper told MTV News at movie’s Los Angeles premiere on Thursday. That may come as a surprise to fans looking forward to seeing the big-screen adaptation of the classic 80s TV series. “The A-Team” cast lineup &#8212 including Liam Neeson, Sharlto Copley and former UFC fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson &#8212 isn’t exactly made up of wimpy guys. Still, MTV Movie Awards nominee Cooper insisted bearded funnyman Galifianakis was the dude to be most afraid of. “They won’t make it,” Coopers said of his other co-stars. “He’s the toughest guy I ever met.” While Cooper was focused on Galifianakis, someone else was focused on Cooper. “The Hills” star Stephanie Pratt told MTV News she became a fan of the cute actor after seeing him in “The Hangover.” “The movie looks so funny,” Pratt said. “I’m gonna say, I think I’m gonna like [Cooper] better in the ‘A-Team.’ ” Does Zach Galifianakis seem like a tough guy to you? Tell us what you think in the comments! A BABA BOOEY BOOK

Book deal for Baba Booey: Howard Stern producer will write a memoir Howard Stern producer Gary Dell’Abate, a.k.a. Baba Booey, has scored a deal to write a memoir for Random House, SiriusBuzz reports. Stern mentioned the forthcoming book on his Wednesday show, according to the radio show’s website, and Dell’Abate joined him: Gary came in to say his shrink has a theory about growing up in the Dell’Abate household: “Every day when you turned the doorknob, you didn’t know if you were going to be kicked in the teeth emotionally or hugged.” Howard laughed: “Everything with you is teeth!” Gary said his boyhood home’s front door prepared him for working on the show: “It’s kind of like opening the door to the studio every day.” Expect an early November release for “They Call Me Baba Booey,” which Dell’Abate will write with author Chad Millman, who previously co-wrote mixed martial artist and UFC champ Chuck Lidell’s autobiography. Perhaps that experience has prepared Millman for working with a member of Stern’s crew? SOURCE: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/gossip/2010/04/howard-stern-baba-booey-book-deal-memoir.html
