In conjunction with Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation, Dennis Smith Jr. and Under Armour went to DSJ’s hometown and treated the city to a carnival-style celebration as part of the unveiling of two refurbished basketball courts at the Smith Recreation Center. Seabrook Park at Smith Recreation Center is where Dennis grew up learning and growing his unique brand of basketball. Countless hours spent on these courts molded Dennis into the athlete he’s become – in his never ending pursuit of getting better. Now, with Under Armour, Dennis has the opportunity to pay it back and pave a way forward for the next generation of Fayetteville dreamers, helping to completely refurbish and revitalize the two courts he grew up playing on. And now he’s made it possible for someone else from his old home to follow in his footsteps and make their way to the NBA. Much props to Dennis Smith Jr, Under Armour and the Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation for giving this to the community. Check out pics below. Despite being accused of sexual assault himself, Gibbs thinks it’s time for slimy men to straighten up their acts! Back in June 2016 Gibbs was arrested and charged with the rape in Australia and months later he was found innocent. The rapper dodged a potential 10-year stint in the bing after the 17-year-old accuser came forward. N BA star LeBron James has made major strides both on and off the court in 2018. Not only did we watch James lead his former team the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA finals, but we’ve also witnessed him evolve into a fierce advocate for social justice. His accomplishments this year garnered him The Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year Award, ESPN reported. He was selected by U.S. editors and news directors. Aside from having a strong presence on the court where he averaged just shy of 30 points per game, he continuously used his platform to spread awareness about social issues and bring important conversations surrounding race in America to the forefront. He produced a powerful documentary dubbed Shut Up and Dribble that explored the history of Black athletes who have been outspoken about social and political issues. He created an unscripted series called The Shop that featured candid conversations with celebrities about culturally relevant topics. One of his biggest accomplishments this year was opening up the I Promise School for youth in his hometown of Akron. He joins a list of influential athletes—including Michael Jordan , Lance Armstrong , and Tiger Woods —who have all received the award at least three times. “In addition to being on everyone’s short list as one of the league’s all-time greatest players, LeBron is among the hardest-working players and is a thoughtful and impactful leader,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver told the news outlet. “He serves on the executive committee of the Players Association even as he builds an impressive media company of his own. And what’s most inspiring, and no surprise given his talent and focus, is how he’s done all of this while embracing his unique opportunity to positively impact communities in need.” James dedicated the award to the I Promise School. “Throughout my journey if I’m able to win anything, my name is getting the award but it’s more than that,” he said in a statement, according to Sports Illustrated . “It’s everybody that I try to inspire. It’s my teammates and it’s my city, where I come from. It’s my kids and my school so it’s never about me.” This accolade comes just weeks after it was announced that James’ Equality Sneakers will be featured in an exhibition at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. CLEO TV’s original programming lineup for First Quarter 2019 includes two new series. NEW SOUL KITCHEN is the ultimate cooking show featuring culinary superstars Chef Jernard Wells and vegan chef Porsche Thomas delivering soul food recipes with a healthy twist. Harlem based Chef JJ, one of the culinary world’s most sought after stars, brings his delicious delights to CLEO TV with celebrity friends and influencers on JUST EATS WITH CHEF JJ. Chandler / Hip-Hop Wired A few weeks after dropping a crazy hot collaboration on the remix for “Gonna Love Me,” Teyana Taylor and the Wu-Tang Clan are once again linking up for a brand new business venture. According to Billboard the G.O.O.D. Music artist is slated to be the face of Wu-Tang Clan’s upcoming makeup line. Yes, you read that right. From the rugged lands of Shaolin will come a new limited edition lipstick collection courtesy of Milk Makeup and the Staten Island killer bees. Of course the first question on everyone’s mind is “How?” Well, the RZA has a simple explanation. “I have a great relationship with Milk’s founder, Rassi, and as New Yorkers, we’ve frequented some of the same circles. We spoke about fashion and the cosmetic world and I revealed that [Talani], my wife, has a cool perspective about makeup [because] in her youth, she was in the modeling circles,” said Wu-Tang’s RZA to Billboard. “She is a fan of Milk Makeup’s products and when [Rassi and I] talked about forming a collaboration that reflected our NYC sensibility and philosophy, makeup became the unique and unpredictable choice. The Milk Makeup collaboration was spearheaded by my wife.” Sounds about right. Naturally, the eight upcoming longwear lipsticks will bear the kind of labels that you’d expect from a Wu-Tang inspired collection. Each will be named after the I Ching Trigrams: Sacred, Fire, Chi, Flow, Frequency, Source, Cypher, and Ruckus. All lipsticks will come in different shades of pink and red and will be featured in high shine, nourishing matte and dimensional glitter. Known for having completely vegan products, Milk is taking their collaboration with the Wu to the next level and including some Chinese-inspired ingredients such as sacred lotus water, cherry blossom, ginseng, bamboo shoots, and Chinese red dates that will help protect, hydrate, and soothe the lips upon application. Adding to the lipstick’s mystique will be the cases it will come in as they’ll be encased in solid black bullets, which is a stark contrast to Milk’s typical white, gray, and clear packaging. When you open up the bullet, a gold dragon wraps around the stick. The outer packaging is also solid black, and features the Wu-Tang “W,” as well as a new exclusive symbol that blends Milk’s logo with the Chinese symbol for beauty. Six strangers got married on television on Tuesday night. And millions of viewers thought it was totally normal. Welcome to the Season 7 premiere of Lifetime’s Married at First Sight! The concept of this unique program is right there in the title, as three Dallas-based couples came together on this opening episode to say “I Do,” despite having never laid eyes on each other before. But this didn’t stop one twosome from wanting to get laid pretty much right away. Isn’t that right, Dave Flaherty and Amber Martorana? A 36-year old Division Order Analyst and 37-year old portfolio manager, both Amber and Dave had similar “lifestyle and lifetime goals,” according to the show. They’re each very into routines and each want to start a family sooner than later. Granted, Amber threw up at her bachelorette party… but she was excited on her wedding day to meet the man she was all set up to wed. “This is easily one of the most intense moments of my life,” David said on his big day, relieved to find Amber very attractive — and shocked to learn they belonged to the same gym. She said “one of the worst guys (she has) dated” attends that gym, and it would be “embarrassing” for Dave to find out. The newlyweds totally wanted to bone right away, too, although Amber had promised her mom she wouldn’t French Kiss her new husband at the ceremony. Still, they both were eager to get back to their suite and have sex for the first time. As for Danielle Bergman and Bobby Dodd? The former wanted a southern gentleman in the market for a wife and a family and a chance to settle down. Who doesn’t, right?!? Dodd’s family was in support of this strange union, but Danielle’s family was far more hesitant, with her mom refusing to even go wedding dress shopping with her daughter. Thankfully, however, she showed up for the wedding. “I just feel so relieved,” Danielle said when her mom walked in for the event. “I can finally be excited about the most important day of my life.” Fitting right into that gentleman mode, Dodd made a point of stopping on his way down the aisle and greeting everyone on Danielle’s side, particularly her mom. “I got my southern gentleman,” Danielle said. “I am very, very happy.” And Bobby was psyched as well, most notably when he got to kiss his wife for the first time at the altar. “It was the best kiss I ever had,” he said. And these two also wanted to head straight to Pound Town, as Danielle told viewers she got a bikini wax for the occasion. “It’s not wrong if you’re married,” she joked. Finally, we move on to Mia Bally and Tristan Thompson. No, not that Tristan Thompson . Both Mia and Tristan were deeply faithful and very good looking people, hence the idea that they would hit it off. Not that Bally’s loved ones were on board at all. “I don’t really feel good about the process, I think it’s crazy,” Mia’s sister said during Bally’s bachelorette party, adding: “What if you don’t like each other, you don’t get along, he doesn’t want to work it out? I’m going to support you regardless… I just don’t want you to get f-ced over. I don’t want you to get your heart broken again! It sucks, and you know that!” Still, Mia’s family wasin attendance for the wedding. During the ceremony, Tristan was excited to learn his wife was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. The newlyweds then exchanged heartfelt vows, but when Tristan tried to kiss her, she made him give her a peck on the cheek instead of anything on the lips. “She didn’t kiss him. I don’t like that,” Tristan’s uncle said in response. But Mia later insisted to the camera that she was just trying to go slow… because she really wanted to go fast and knew that could be dangerous. “He seems like a dream so far,” she said. “I feel that we would make cute babies … that’s for sure.” Following the nuptials, both husband and wife calmed down a bit, while Mia’s dad warned his new son-in-law not to pork his daughter on their wedding night. For real. Nevertheless: “Dude, God is real. Oh my God, she is amazing,” Tristan said when everything was over.
