Bloop: LaLa Sets A Hater Straight After Trying To Come At Her Friendship With Kim Kardashian

Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images for Yeezy Season 4 LaLa Anthony Sets Her Friendship With Kim K Straight The internet was ablaze yesterday following the announcement of the name of Kim and Kanye’s 3rd little baby girl, Chicago West . There are a lot of people who hate the name, and also just a lot of people who will hate any name KimYe chooses just because it’s them, so it’s expected for the couple to receive backlash after their choice. Kim K’s longtime friend LaLa Anthony was quick to send her buddy some congratulations and love following the announcement, saying the name is epic and the baby is already a legend for it. And of course, because it’s Twitter, somebody had something to say about LaLa’s congratulatory tweet to her friend. Epic name!!! She’s a legend already!!!! https://t.co/5PITdD2vGf — LA LA (@lala) January 19, 2018 A fan replied telling LaLa to, “stop lying to these people” and also says that she’s “feening” to be friends with Kim K. She’s not with the isht, and sets Ms. Tanisha all the way straight by letting her know she’s been friends with the Kardashian sister for a decade. Feening to be friends with someone I’ve been friends with for almost ten years. Knock if off! — LA LA (@lala) January 19, 2018 No haters shall prosper against LaLa!

Is There A Government Conspiracy Against Haitian Immigrants?

The rest is here:

T he president and his administration are deliberately sabotaging legal Haitian immigration through a number of political channels, advocacy groups, activists and people from Haiti said this week. And if the president’s profane position on Haiti wasn’t already clear enough — he reportedly called the island nation a “shithole” and asked lawmakers  “Why do we need more Haitians?” — his administration doubled down on it Thursday by preventing people from Haiti from applying to work legally in the U.S. “Haitian nationals applying for H-2A and H-2B visas present extremely high rates of refusal, and those issued H-2A or H-2B visas have historically demonstrated high levels of fraud and abuse and a high rate of overstaying the terms of their H-2 admission,” the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) wrote in an official notice released Thursday. “Haiti has shown no improvement in these areas, and the Secretary of Homeland Security has determined, with the concurrence of the Secretary of State, that Haiti’s inclusion on the 2018 H-2A and H-2B lists is no longer in the U.S. interest.” READ MORE: Trump Targets Legal Haitian Immigrants For Deportation The news came as tens of thousands of Haitian immigrants in the U.S. legally were facing the prospects of immediate unemployment because the Trump administration delayed the process of re-registering for the Temporary Protection Status (TPS) program under which they were brought them to the country following a deadly earthquake in 2010. As a result, many employers have reportedly warned their workers who are TPS holders that they may not have a job come Monday, when the protection status was set to expire. Oh damn. #Haiti (via @nadiatodres ) pic.twitter.com/JdTp3ReAQy — Jonathan M. Katz (@KatzOnEarth) January 18, 2018 “They told me that if I don’t bring the work papers, they will send me home because it is the law. You have to have work papers. I am under pressure,” Edelyne Jean, a nursing assistant in Florida, told the Associated Press . “They say that if I don’t bring anything new by Jan. 22 or the 23rd at the most, I am jobless.” Haitian advocates blamed DHS and suggested the delay was done intentionally to create the situation that TPS holders have found themselves in. READ MORE: Everything To Know About Temporary Protection Status “This is unconscionable, especially since if you recall, right before Thanksgiving 2017, the Department of Homeland Security announced the termination of Temporary Protected Status for Haitians,” the Black Alliance for Just Immigration said in a brief statement on Wednesday. “They said they’d only be legally able to remain in the United States until July 22, 2019. Yet once again 60,000 people who have lived and worked in the U.S. for years and have established strong community ties will lose their ability to remain in any meaningful way in a matter of days.” Trump says he’s looking to protect our borders, but apparently he and his Mar-a-Lago club/estate don’t factor into that flawed equation. The U.S. has a grim legacy of involvement in Haiti. And it’s a legacy of occupation. pic.twitter.com/u2amoNX8PI — AJ+ (@ajplus) January 18, 2018 “The foreign workers brought in to help staff [Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club] tend to come from two countries,” including Haiti, the New Yorker reported . Aside from being the antithesis of humanitarian, moving to rid the country of TPS-holding Haitians as well as those with work visas is also a bad business decision that could adversely affect the country’s economy. “Haitian farmworkers on the H-2A visa that I have studied in Alabama added $4,000 to the U.S. economy per worker, per month,” Michael Clemens, a senior fellow at the non-partisan Center for Global Development, told NBC News . George Zimmerman: I’ll Kill Jay-Z and Feed Him to an Alligator!

As you may have heard, Jay-Z has been working on a documentary about Trayvon Martin, a teen whose life was cut tragically short. Interviews are a normal part of any documentary, but George Zimmerman’s response to producers interviewing people in his life has been … to threaten to kill Jay-Z and feed him to an alligator . We suppose that when you’ve already gotten away with murder, merely threatening to kill people must seem like no big deal. You know, when George Zimmerman got off for killing Trayvon Martin, he felt invincible. The fact that he’s still free after threatening to kill a man in a road rage incident and throwing a bottle at his girlfriend has only, in his eyes, confirmed that. George Zimmerman spoke to The Blast , and he sounded irate that docuseries executive producer Michael Gasparro showed up at the homes of his parents and uncle. Zimmerman, being the kind of guy who would stalk and murder a teenager who was just walking home with some skittles, is responding with open hostility. And with threats. Among his threats is one to “beat Jay-Z.” Jay-Z has actually been shot before, and also almost certainly has more than enough private security to deal with a man whose claim to fame was the murder of an unarmed teenager. But that doesn’t stop Zimmerman from doing his best to sound menacing. “I know how to handle people who f–k with me, I have since February 2012.” If you read that and are thinking that it’s somehow not an explicit threat, well, Zimmerman also got a lot more specific when speaking to The Blast . “Anyone who f–ks with my parents will be fed to an alligator.” A murderer who got off scott free then threatening to feed people to alligators for interviewing his parents isn’t the most Floridian thing that we’ve ever heard, but it does make the top 10 list. George Zimmerman brags about murder a lot. It doesn’t usually go over well, though he’s had a number of appalling racists reach out to support him. These same racists, we imagine, were among the bidders when George Zimmerman auctioned off the murder weapon . But it sounds like Jay-Z’s documentary, “Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story,” is really getting under Zimmerman’s skin. Zimmerman describes the attempted interviews (we don’t know if they took place or not) as “harassment” but fails to describe any way in which harassment might have taken place. And The Blast says that he seemed to be especially upset at the news that his ex-wife had been paid an unspecified amount of money for being interviewed. Having one of the most infamous murderers in recent American history as your ex-husband can’t come with many perks, but getting paid to describe your experiences with him and to reveal what you know about him would, we suppose, be one. Some may respond the idea of Zimmerman’s family (even ex-family) getting paid to speak with hostility. After Trayvon Martin lost his life at age 17, they think, is it right for people associated with his murder to get paid? We would counter with this: this very likely means that Trayvon Martin’s family and friends and loved ones, who still mourn him and are honoring his memory by speaking in this docuseries, are also getting paid. Beyonce and Jay-Z are famously very, very generous with their wealth. And while nothing can ever bring back their son, we think that Trayvon’s loved ones deserve to get paid for speaking the truth. This docuseries could be important, however. There are even die-hard racists in this world who have trouble dehumanizing someone when confronted with that person’s full humanity. More to the point, honoring Trayvon’s memory and mourning his loss could remind others of the potential costs of their actions. How many racists, we wonder, bite their tongues when they realize that if they scream obscenities as a Burger King employee or whatever, their rant might go viral. Some of those people might think twice about stalking an unarmed teen and then murdering him if they consider that they might become one of the most hated people in America. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Wedding to Make Great Britain HOW Much?!?

Let’s face it: No one is entirely sure why so many people are excited for Prince Harry to marry Meghan Markle. She’s really just an actress best known for her role on the light-hearted USA Network drama Suits, while he’s a handsome party animal who happened to have been born into a famous family. Together, the couple has no real power or tangible influence of any kind. But while we do occasionally wonder why millions of people have the Harry/Markle wedding date (May 19, 2018!) circled on their calendar, we know for certain why Great Britain itself is excited for the nuptials: Cold, hard cash. And A LOT of it. According to Aimee Dunne, a London-based wedding planner who spoke to CNN, the Harry and Meghan wedding will cost about $670,000 (or 500,00 pounds). That’s a chunk of change, right? Yes. But it pales, significantly, in comparison to how much the next Royal Wedding will rake in . According to Express, the marriage of Prince Harry and the Suits actress is estimated to bring about $670 million into the country. We’ll give you a few moments to let that sink is… $670 million!!!!!! From where does this figure come from? We turn to David Haigh from Brand Finance for that answer. He predicts that tourism to London alone around the time of the wedding could generate about $540 million dollars in “hotel bookings,” as well as restaurant and pub visits. Haigh also looks at the way Kate Middleton has boosted various brands (she wears a certain designer’s dress… and it gets sold out in mere minutes the next day) and thinks Markle could have a similiar effect. “Meghan Markle is an accomplished actress in her own right, with a global popularity and a strong personal brand,” the financial advisor explains, adding: “It can be expected that she will join the Duchess of Cambridge as a great ambassador of the monarchy and British brands in general, especially in her native United States and in Canada where she recently lived.” Along with tourism, you can expect sales wedding memorabilia to rise exponentially over the next year or so. Just consider the following items, which are already on sale and whose profits will go to Queen Elizabeth’s estate. Now imagine the uptick in mugs, napkins and everything else you can imagine after the stars are actually married! Just by holding their wedding on a Saturday, meanwhile, Harry and Meghan have saved the country the expense of creating a bank holiday. With so many citizens so interested in the ceremony, there likely would have been a call to close businesses for the occasion. This could have cost the economy millions, if not billions. Instead, it just be a regular day off for most workers. A regular day off that will involve heavy drinking and celebrating, that is. Roy Moore Is Not Black Voters’ Burden, It’s White Folks’ Job To Gather Their People

T he world is watching as the people of Alabama prepare to place their ballots today. Their vote will determine who will be one of America’s newest Senators, namely Republican Roy Moore or Democrat Doug Jones, in a race that will shape critical U.S. policies. And while some pundits may believe Black people s hould summon their magic  to keep an accused misogynist and proven racist out of office,  it is not the sole responsibility of Black Alabamians to ensure the winning vote . Democracy is a project for all, especially those who need to do all they must to loosen their longheld and tight grip on the type power that has harmed Black people in the U.S. The differences between the candidates mirror the divisiveness present in national politics. The candidates’ positions are opposite ideologically and practically. Moore is a  white supremacist, and alleged sexual harassment perpetrator  (and child predator) who supports a blatantly sexist, anti-Muslim, and homopbobic agenda. In 2004, when a bipartisan coalition sought to symbolically erase Alabama’s constitution of its segregationist language Roy Moore was the effort’s  Staunchest Detractor . In stark contrast, Doug Jones is a civil rights activist who has  advanced progressive transformation in the criminal justice system throughout his career. His most notable action as a prosecutor involved convicting the three white domestic terrorists who bombed the  16th Street Church  in Birmingham during the 1964 crime that has been linked to the Klu Klux Klan. Four black girls were killed and the nation was morally injured. Keeping Moore Out of Office May Appear To Be The Easiest Way To Advance Black Communities In Alabama, But Black People Are Not The Majority Bloc Upholding Or Supporting Moore As If He Is Christ’s Chosen Leader. Share Given the stark differences that color the candidates’ careers, media outlets have been discussing voter behavior in terms of the Black and white vote. For example, this week’s stories in the  New York Times ,  NBC , and  The Los Angeles Times    promote the idea that if Roy Moore wins it will be because Black Alabamians did not show up to the polls—as if Black voters, and not the white voting bloc that bolsters Moore’s career, are to blame. Moore Is Not Black People’s Responsibility The idea that Black people must carry the burden of this country’s failure to exercise democracy is a notion that reminds me of a quote from Richard Wright. In  Black Boy,  he writes “My life as a Negro in America had led me to feel . . . that the problem of human unity was more important than bread, more important than physical living itself; for I felt that without a common bond uniting men . . . there could be no living worthy of being called human .”  Here, Wright notes that political discourse in the United States always places Black people in the position of responsibility. Black people, the thinking goes, must always place the principle of national freedom before our collective needs as a people. But, nah. The National Urban League’s (NUL) 2017   State of Black America  report lists various gains made by Black people under the Obama Administration, along with the prevalence of enduring economic, educational and health disparities between Black and white America. In the report, NUL President Marc Morial discusses what is needed to secure and advance these improvements. The report outlines the effects of a long history of systematic oppression that continues to prevail and remains in tact through the actions of political leaders like Moore. And that is why Black people’s focus should be on prioritizing the security of their households and communities and not an unpromised concept of freedom. Source: Drew Angerer / Getty Media Must Point Out The Real Problem, And Black People Aren’t It Keeping Moore out of office may appear to be the easiest way to advance Black communities in Alabama, but Black people are not the majority bloc upholding or  supporting Moore as if he is Christ’s chosen leader . Black people, to be very clear, are not lending their vote to a man accused of sexually harassing several women when they were girls, a white man who also believes the days of chattel slavery in the U.S. had glorious moments. During the GOP runoff, Black people took note when the  the  Los Angeles Times  documented Moore’s most historically inaccurate and offensive quote this year. The  LA Times  reported, “In response to a question from one of the only African Americans in the audience — who asked when Moore thought America was last ‘great’ — Moore acknowledged the nation’s history of racial divisions, but said: ‘I think it was great at the time when families were united — even though we had slavery — they cared for one another…. Our families were strong, our country had a direction.’” If Moore Wins It Will Be Because White People Elected Him. Share Moore seems to forget that Black families were destroyed during enslavement, but one must first be aware of history to no longer remember it. Either way, it seems safe to say that the descendants of enslaved African people will not support a candidate whose willful ignorance echoes that of a treasonist Confederate. Voting, however, can be an act of self care and harm reduction. Black people have shown overwhelming support for Jones. Polls for today’s race  in Alabama show that he has 93 percent of the Black vote and just 33 percent of the white vote. This makes sense given Moore’s record on civil rights and the actual needs of Black people in Alabama. What remains most shocking, if only because it is to be expected, is the support that Moore receives from white constituents. The decision to operationalize the ideals of an American democracy, one that supports the participation and livelihood of all people, depends on the support of the majority of citizens. Here in the U.S. that majority is comprised of white people. As is the case in most special elections, there is an expectation for low voter turnout today. For this and many other reasons credible pollsters are  unable to predict  today’s winner. This is a tragedy that white people must own, but therein lies the problem media refuses to center on: if Moore wins it will be because white people elected him. Moore is white folks’ candidate and his support is their acknowledgment that white interests will always trump democracy and national safety. Texas Teacher Arrested for Picking Up Student at Chick-fil-A, Banging Him in Parking Lot

A Texas history teacher was arrested this week and charged with sexual assault with an ex-student after meeting up with him at a local Chick-fil-A restaurant. People Magazine was the first outlet to report the incident. According to court records, Michelle Schiffer has been charged with engaging in an improper relationship with a student who is now 16 years old. He was 15 at the time of the sexual encounter. Schiffer is 23. The teacher told authorities that she met the unnamed student at the aforementioned fast food restaurant before they went to a friend’s home to have sex. The student, meanwhile, told authorities that Schiffer picked him up once at a park in her car – and then the inappropriate twosome drove around the neighborhood before having sex in a parking lot. This second allegation was reported by local TV station CW39. The same network adds that Schiffer and the student had sex on multiple occasions. Schiffer teaches world history at Cypress Springs High School in Cypress, Texas. She was ordered to appear in court on Wednesday to face her charges, while a judge has set bond at $30,000. Official records indicate that Schiffer posted the amount later that day and is now a free woman. Having admitted that she also smoked marijuana with this student in the car, it’s also safe to classify her as a messed up woman. The Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District has said in a statement that the 23-year old was immediately removed from campus and placed on administrative leave once they learned of the charges. We’d have to imagine she’ll soon be fired. “We will continue to protect our students and not tolerate relationships of an inappropriate nature,” the statement reads. No word on the scandal from Chick-fil-A, although there’s no real reason for the chain to speak out. It continues to provide consumers with delicious chicken sandwiches, while not being a big fan of gay people. Here’s a look, meanwhile, at other teachers who have had sex with students. For hilarious shame on them… View Slideshow: 31 Teachers 2 Hot 4 Students

Matt Lauer’s Wife Just Fled the Country

Talk about a tale of two wives… As previously reported, Matt Lauer has very few friends in light of the sexual harassment, misconduct and assault claims recently made against him. But one unexpected source of support has actually been his ex-wife, Nancy Alspaugh, who told Entertainment Tonight that she has reached out to Lauer and supports him “one hundred percent,” even adding: “He’s been the best person that’s ever held that job… “I couldn’t imagine that anything that he would have done – that would have been so out of character for him – that would have caused that reaction.” She’s referring, of course, to the reaction of NBC to allegations that Lauer acted inappropriately in the presence of at least one co-worker. Inappropriate in a sexual manner, that is, which caused the network to terminate Lauer’s contact this past Monday night. Conversely, however, Lauer’s current wife is showing her husband no such support. According to The New York Post, Annette Roque has actually fled the United States in the wake of these horrible accusations. She has allegedly taken the couple’s two youngest children – Romy, 14, and Thijs, 11 – and returned to her native Netherlands to be with family. (The couple also share a 16-year old son named Jack.) Roque and Lauer actually field for divorce over a decade ago, prior to changing their mind. There’s been talk for years that Lauer has not been loyal to his wife, as he lives at least half of the time in New York City; while she and the kids reside in Long Island. Seven months pregnant in 2006 when she filed to legally split from Lauer, Roque cited “cruel and inhumane” treatment in her official papers, mentioning Lauer’s “extremely controlling” behavior at the time. The two have since reconciled, but it’s barely even a secret that they live separate lives. “They play happy families at their Hamptons home on weekends, and then she lets him run off to New York to do Today – and goodness knows what else,” an East End source told to Radar Online in September. Hollywood, meanwhile, remains rocked by the Lauer scandal. Yes, it’s just the latest in a long line of alleged sexual misbehavior by male stars such as Kevin Spacey, Louis CK and Charlie Rose. But Lauer was the face of NBC, the highest paid employee at the network, the person who greeted millions of Americans every morning. Said News Chairman Andrew Lack in the statement that confirmed Lauer’s firing: “While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over 20 years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident. “Our highest priority is to create a workplace environment where everyone feels safe and protected and to ensure that any actions that run counter to our core values are met with consequences, no matter who the offender. “We are deeply saddened by this turn of events.” The embattled morning anchor has since apologized in a statement of his own, saying on Thursday: “There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry.” Since this story broke, follow-up reports have claimed Lauer dropped his pants in front of staffers, gifted them with sex toys and may have even raped one of them . He’ll never work on television again, that much is certain. View Slideshow: Matt Lauer: A Timeline of Terrible Behavior
