Has Hillary Clinton found her Presidential running mate? While Donald Trump was blasting one controversial celebrity on stage last night, the Democratic front-runner was cozying up to another, posing for a selfie we never imagined would be snapped. Yep, that’s Kim Kardashian turning the camera on herself and the former Secretary of States. And, yes, we see you back there, Kanye. Hi! The meeting between Kim and Hillary took place at Scooter Braun’s Los Angeles residence, where Justin Bieber ’s manager hosted a $2,700-per-person fundraiser for the Oval Office hopeful. After Tweeting that she hoped to pose for a picture with Clinton, Kim succeeded in her mission and wrote as a caption to the above image on Instagram: “I got my selfie!!! I really loved hearing her speak & hearing her goals for our country! #HillaryForPresident.” But will this picture come back to haunt Hillary? Will the GOP use her relationship to the Kim Kardashian sex tape star against her down the road? Eh, probably not. Kardashian isn’t the most politically-active celebrity out there, but she’s made her Democratic leanings public knowledge on occasion. When interviewed at the San Francisco Commonwealth Club in June and asked about Clinton potentially becoming the first female President of the United States, Kardashian replied in excitement: “I hope so!” View Slideshow: 30 Kim Kardashian Selfies That Nearly Broke the Internet

Dascha Polanco Talks Insecurities, Body Image And Personal Struggle Hi, Dascha! Via HuffingtonPost “Orange Is The New Black” star Dashca Polanco isn’t shy about sharing the body-related insecurities she had growing up. Now, the star delves into her personal struggles and how she hopes to inspire others. This weekend Polanco, 33, will join “The Real” host Adrienne Bailon, plus-sized model Denise Bidot, Roc Nation executive Lenny Santiago and personal trainer Massiel “MankoFit” Arias to discuss beauty and body image within the Latino community. The panel is part of Latina magazine’s first Latina Beauty, Hair & Wellness Expo, which will be held at New Jersey’s Meadowlands Expo Center Saturday and Sunday. Ahead of the panel, the actress spoke to The Huffington Post about her own experiences with body image in Hollywood, as well as the specific struggles Latinas in the United States often face. Peep what she had to say: Why did you decide it was important to be a part of this panel addressing body image? It’s been something that I have struggled with throughout my life and I think that as I’m becoming older and I became a woman and I’ve gone through the phases, I’m learning how to love myself more. I think it’s very important [to talk about it] when you’re in a position of where you are looked upon or onto as a role model or inspiration. Young girls and women, we all need that sense of security and that empowerment, so it’s very important for me to display that. How were you able to overcome the body image issues you struggled with growing up? Well, I don’t think I overcame them. I think that I’m learning how to not make the insecurities a reason for me to not achieve my goals or go for my dreams, aspire to bigger things. I think that I still have those qualities but I am embracing them more and I’m learning to make those differences unique qualities as opposed to negative obstacles or thoughts. Weight has been an issue in my life. My siblings were way thinner and I was always bigger. Growing up the girls around me were thinner and I felt like I always had issues with image and stuff like that. On the next page Dascha talks about her bountiful butt cheeks. President Obama To Set Nonviolent Drug Offenders Free From Federal Prison Obama flexin’ on the feds… Via NYTimes Sometime in the next few weeks, aides expect President Obama to issue orders freeing dozens of federal prisoners locked up on nonviolent drug offenses. With the stroke of his pen, he will probably commute more sentences at one time than any president has in nearly half a century. The expansive use of his clemency power is part of a broader effort by Mr. Obama to correct what he sees as the excesses of the past, when politicians eager to be tough on crime threw away the key even for minor criminals. With many Republicans and Democrats now agreeing that the nation went too far, Mr. Obama holds the power to unlock that prison door, especially for young African-American and Hispanic men disproportionately affected. But even as he exercises authority more assertively than any of his modern predecessors, Mr. Obama has only begun to tackle the problem he has identified. In the next weeks, the total number of commutations for Mr. Obama’s presidency may surpass 80, but more than 30,000 federal inmates have come forward in response to his administration’s call for clemency applications. A cumbersome review process has advanced only a small fraction of them. And just a small fraction of those have reached the president’s desk for a signature. “I think they honestly want to address some of the people who have been oversentenced in the last 30 years,” said Julie Stewart, the founder and president of Families Against Mandatory Minimums, a group advocating changes in sentencing. “I’m not sure they envisioned that it would be as complicated as it is, but it has become more complicated, whether it needs to be or not, and that’s what has bogged down the process.” Overhauling the criminal justice system has become a bipartisan venture. Like Mr. Obama, Republicans running for his job are calling for systemic changes. Lawmakers from both parties are collaborating on legislation. And the United States Sentencing Commission has revised guidelines for drug offenders, so far retroactively reducing sentences for more than 9,500 inmates, nearly three-quarters of them black or Hispanic. POTUS is really lettin’ it all hang out in his last days in office. Gay marriage. Soul-reviving eulogies. Prison reform. Barack is BALLIN’ on these hoes! Image via AP

North Carolina Allows Officials To Refuse Marriage Licenses To Gays Defying the governor, lawmakers on Thursday enacted a law that allows state court officials to refuse to perform a marriage if they have a “sincerely held religious objection,” a measure aimed at curtailing same-sex unions . Via NY Times : The Republican-controlled House voted 69-41 on Thursday to override a veto by Gov. Pat McCrory, also a Republican, who refused to sign the marriage bill in May. Mr. McCrory said at the time that although he believed that marriage should be between a man and a woman, he vetoed the bill because “no public official who voluntarily swears to support and defend the Constitution and to discharge all duties of their office should be exempt from upholding that oath.” The State Senate, which is also controlled by Republicans, overrode Mr. McCrory’s veto June 1. The law, which takes effect immediately, allows magistrates, along with assistant and deputy registers of deeds, to refuse to perform a marriage without facing punishment or charges of willfully failing to discharge their duties. Court officials who disclose a religious objection must stop performing all marriages for at least six months. The governor condemned the move. “It’s a disappointing day for the rule of law and the process of passing legislation in North Carolina,” Mr. McCrory said in a statement. Lawyers for the American Civil Liberties Union said it was too soon to say how a ruling expected this month by the United States Supreme Court regarding same-sex marriage might affect the North Carolina law. The measure is one of a string of bills in states like Indiana, Arkansas and Louisiana to allow people to circumvent equal protection for same-sex couples on grounds of religious freedom. It is also part of a series of sharply conservative bills passed by North Carolina’s Republican-controlled legislature, including a bill signed last Friday by the governor that requires women who seek abortions to wait 72 hours before they can undergo the procedure. “It’s hard to believe that any governor — much less a conservative one — would veto a bill protecting the religious freedoms of his constituents. The House and the Senate made the right call in overriding Governor McCrory’s ill-advised veto and we are grateful for their continued leadership in fighting to preserve this fundamental American freedom,” the group’s executive director, Tami Fitzgerald, said in a statement. Let’s discuss….
As expected, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul announced this morning that he will seek the Republican nomination for President of the United States in 2016. “I am running for president to return our country to the principles of liberty and limited government,” Paul, 52, wrote on his official campaign website. Running to “restore liberty and prosperity for ourselves and for future generations,” he is scheduled to declare his candidacy at a rally in Louisville, Kentucky. Before entering the world of politics with a Senate victory in 2010, Rand Paul owned his own ophthalmology practice and performed eye surgery for 18 years. He is the first U.S. Senate member to serve while a parent – his father, three-time presidential candidate Ron Paul – served in the House of Representatives. The younger Paul has served on the Health Education, Labor and Pensions, Homeland Security and Government Affairs and Small Business Committees. He also formed the Senate Tea Party Caucus and has been one of the higher-profile members of the GOP since arriving in D.C. a little over four years ago. Rand’s announcement comes on the heels of Texas Senator Ted Cruz’s presidential bid , announced on behalf of the Republican Party last month. Former Florida governor Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who are leading early public opinion polls, are also expected to get in the race. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is expected to announce his bid on April 13, while New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is viewed as a possible candidate as well. 13 Awkward Photos of 2016 Presidential Candidates 1. Old School Clintons That’s Bill Clinton! And that’s Hillary Clinton!
