Since news broke that Eric Johnson got Jessica Simpson pregnant long before she went and confirmed it, she lost out on the whole tabloid exclusive deal. But, since the pressure’s on celebs to shed the baby weight they inevitably gain as soon as possible, she may have a backup plan up her sleeve to cash in. If Us Weekly is to be believed, then Jessica is already planning for just that, and is in talks with Weight Watchers to be their newest celebr pound-shedder. Once baby makes three, Jess will make four. Million. All she has to do is lose “a significant amount of weight” on the points-based plan, and shill for it. While it would be a bit surprising, even in this day and age, for a star known for promoting body acceptance to be in negotiations to make her pregnant body the new face of weight loss, her camp is already shooting down the rumor. So false! And order is once again restored to the universe. “There is no Weight Watchers deal,” a source told E! News , claiming that Simpson planned to sign on with the company to lose the weight she’d gained over the past few years, “But then she got pregnant” and there is currently no plan to do so. Funny, the same has been said of her wedding to Eric. [Photo: WENN.com]
‘A lot of cheekiness and no middle fingers,’ frontman Gabe Saporta promises of Mac Miller-featuring clip. By Jocelyn Vena Gabe Saporta Photo: MTV News Cobra Starship threw a dance party with Sabi in their “You Make Me Feel … ” video , but the group has some much different plans for their “Middle Finger” clip. Despite the song’s title, however, Cobra frontman Gabe Saporta promised not one middle finger will be raised in the clip. “A lot of cheekiness and no middle fingers,” he promised. “Even though the song is called ‘Middle Finger,’ no middle fingers. I think the video is going to be like you’d expect the whole thing to be like: an ‘eff you’ to everyone, but really it’s about us trying to turn a new leaf and become Good Samaritans.” The track itself — which features up-and-coming MC Mac Miller and is from Cobra’s album Night Shades — is a funky, poppy dance tune about flipping off haters and having a good time. So the planned Australian shoot should be a perfect fit for the sun-kissed track. “We’re going Down Under, which is my favorite thing to do, because it’s going to be summer there when it’s winter here,” Saporta said. The video shoot comes just weeks after the band wrapped an opening slot on Justin Bieber’s My World Tour . It was a moment that stands out for Saporta in a pretty great year for his band. “We were playing, like, 50,000-people stadiums,” Saporta said of the South American jaunt. “It was insane, and I’m from South America too, so for me, it was especially satisfying. I gotta say, for being the most famous kid in the universe, he’s remarkably well-adjusted, and … there’s like 75 people traveling with him. It feels like a family, and it was really nice to be a part of that family for a bit of time.” What are you expecting from the “Middle Finger” video? Let us know in the comments! GLAAD is like the toughest gang out these days. Just ask Brett Ratner , who got so shook wilson after saying “Rehearsal is for f*gs” that he’s now stepping down from producing for the OSCARS!!! According to TMZ reports : Brett Ratner claims he’s officially “resigned” as producer of the 2012 Academy Awards … after dropping the homophobic F-bomb at a media event Sunday night. Ratner — best known for directing the “Rush Hour” movies — was at a fan Q&A session for “Tower Heist” Sunday when he told the crowd, “Rehearsal is for f*gs.” Now, he’s penned an open letter … apologizing for the “hurtful and stupid things I’ve said” … and adding, “Having love in your heart doesn’t count for much if what comes out of your mouth is ugly and bigoted.” Ratner continued, “Being asked to help put on the Oscar show was the proudest moment of my career. But as painful as this may be for me, it would be worse if my association with the show were to be a distraction from the Academy and the high ideals it represents.” Ratner says he’s been in contact with GLAAD — the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation — and he promises he will work to “increase awareness of the important and troubling issues this episode has raised.” “I deeply regret my actions and I am determined to learn from this experience.” Tom Sherak — the President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences — issued a statement saying, “[Brett] did the right thing for the Academy and for himself.” He added, “Words have meaning, and they have consequences. Brett is a good person, but his comments were unacceptable. We all hope this will be an opportunity to raise awareness about the harm that is caused by reckless and insensitive remarks, regardless of the intent.” Watch a video of the incident in question below: Man… that Velvet Mafia is no joke! ‘It wouldn’t even be possible for her to get backstage,’ Cobra Starship’s Gabe Saporta tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: WireImage Justin Bieber recently told the “Today” show that it’s impossible he fathered Mariah Yeater’s baby, as claimed in a headline-making paternity suit . Why? The minute he finishes a show, he promptly makes his way from the stage to an awaiting car, so there’s no time for backstage trysts. Cobra Starship frontman Gabe Saporta, Bieber’s onetime tourmate , confirmed the teen star’s story. “It wouldn’t even be possible for her to get backstage,” he told MTV News on the red carpet at the Glamour Women of the Year event in New York on Monday. “The security is so crazy there, you can’t get backstage. And even if you got backstage, first of all, he leaves the show as soon as he’s offstage, which is pretty cool. He runs offstage, gets in a car and jets, because the whole city turns into chaos.” Before the My World Tour wrapped up last month, the band experienced that craziness firsthand, likening it to something straight out of the movies. “There’s a really cool video of us online get mobbed at the airport,” Saporta recalled. “It’s like zombie apocalypse; it’s awesome.” Speaking of awesome, 2011 has been a pretty great year for Cobra Starship. Their infectious, Sabi-featuring track “You Make Me Feel” has been burning up radio, but that Bieber tour is pretty much the highlight of the year for Saporta. It feels like a family, and it was really nice to be a part of that family for a bit of time.” Related Artists Cobra Starship Justin Bieber
We’re not quite sure why there is a need for both a “Miss World” and “Miss Universe” competition, but we sure are grateful for another opportunity to celebrate the beautiful Black women of the world . And to make it more interesting, we figured we would match up this year’s Black Miss World contestants with their Miss Universe counterparts. We found that a lot of countries don’t quite see the need for two pageants either: some only send a representative to one pageant, while a couple sent the same girl to both. Flip through and check out the representatives for all the countries who sent Black girls to both pageants and let us know who looked more bangin’!
