Exclusive: Rick Ross Too Sick To Attend Child Support Hearing With Baby Mama

BALTIMORE, MD – FEBRUARY 13: Rapper Rick Ross performs live onstage at Coppin State University Homecoming on February 13, 2018 in Baltimore, Maryland. (Photo by Brian Stukes/Getty Images) Rapper Was Hospitalized Early Thursday Reportedly With Pneumonia Rapper Rick Ross’ sudden illness was so severe that it kept him out of a hearing Thursday for his ongoing child support battle with his son’s mother. Ross, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts, was supposed to appear March 1 in Broward County Family Court for a mediation meeting with baby mama Tia Kemp, but the judge agreed to cancel the hearing at the last minute after both Kemp and Ross asked for a postponement, according to court records obtained by BOSSIP. Someone inside Ross’ $1.4 million home called 911 overnight Thursday to report an unresponsive man with a history of seizures who was breathing heavily, according to the rapper’s dispatch report, which was obtained by BOSSIP. The caller said when the man – later ID’d as Ross – woke up, he was combative, “slobbing out of the mouth” and had “boo-boo’d” on himself. Multiple outlets are reporting that Ross is battling pneumonia. Kemp sued Ross back in 2007 to establish paternity and child support. The case was closed in 2013, but Kemp reopened it two years later because she said that she needed the child support upped from $2,800 to $20,000 because their son needed resources like counseling, extracurricular activities and tutoring. The mom argued that Ross’ income had drastically changed and most recently, Kemp filed a motion to force Ross to pay for her son’s tutoring and for a psychological evaluation. However, Ross fired back, saying his income hadn’t changed and Kemp needed to get a job. We reached out to Kemp Friday, and she declined to comment, saying she was on the way to the hospital. Hit the flip for Ross’ 911 dispatch record: Continue reading

Saltine Furious: Wake Forest Student Complains After Classmates Gift Him Crackers For Being A Conservative Curmudgeon

Geri Lavrov/Getty Images Wake Forest Student Ryan Wolfe Cries “White Underprivilege” On Tucker Carlson Show This might just be the saddest story about racism we’ve ever reported. Sike! Last night Twitter began twittering about Fox News reporter Tucker Carlson’s interview with Wake Forest student Ryan Wolfe. You see, Wolfe is upset that the University won’t take action after his classmates clowned the isht out of him following a pre-election panel discussion hosted by Wake Forest Republican groups where he expressed his conservative views… The classmates “bullied” him by handing him a box of saltine’s and in a group chat during the event, a student photoshopped his face… on a CRACKER! Lead story at the top of the hour over on Fox News: pic.twitter.com/4Ut4BwqDbV — Ryan J. Reilly (@ryanjreilly) March 1, 2018 The twitter thread was off the chain… You really need to see the video to get the full effect: pic.twitter.com/1ZBEGYEvfM — Andrew Lawrence (@ndrew_lawrence) March 1, 2018 So we went looking for the video. Wolfe basically went on Tucker’s show to cry about reverse racism because after he complained for the University to take action he was told that his classmates were basically justified because of Trump’s election. He even tried to throw Melissa Harris-Perry into his argument. GTFOH! Sorry, but we couldn’t hear the end of the video we were laughing so hard when Tucker Carlson called dude BRAVE to come on the show… Bullying and online harassment is wrong, but do either of these guys realize that BLACK people and people of color actually RISKED THEIR LIVES and the LIVES of their family members just to have the simple right to get an education, vote or be treated like an equal in public? White privilege is something else, ain’t it?! Continue reading

Hide Ya Kids: Schools See Sharp Rise In Racial Harassment Reports According To Education Department

Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images U.S. Department Of Education Received Substantial Uptick In Racial Harassment Claims Here’s a shocker. The U.S. Department of Education’s civil rights division received significantly more complaints regarding racial harassment in schools in 2017, according to data the department provided for a Huffington Post report. According to the report, the increase is the largest jump in its category since 2009, with the division never receiving more than 600 complaints until the 2017 fiscal year, when the number climbed to 675, which represents a nearly 25% increase from the previous year. Prior to that year the number had ranged between 362 and 577 reports. The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) is charged with addressing complaints under Title VI, the federal law that protects students from discrimination based on race, color and national origin. Catherine Lhamon, who ran OCR during the Obama administration, said she could not speculate on the reasons for this increase, but pointed to outside data showing a surge in hate crimes nationally. “Our schools are places that encapsulate and reflect the national climate as well,” said Lhamon, who is now chair of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. “It is distressingly unsurprising that there might be an uptick in racial harassment complaints coming to OCR.” Zoe Savitsky, deputy legal director at the Southern Poverty Law Center, pointed to the numbers as evidence that the Trump administration is creating a toxic national environment that is in turn affecting schools. In the wake of the 2016 presidential election, the Southern Poverty Law Center started surveying teachers about how the election had influenced their school’s climate. Many teachers reported seeing an increase in hateful language and attitudes toward marginalized student groups. “I am saddened but not surprised,” said Savitsky of the rise in racial harassment complaints in schools. Damned shame. All that progress made just to have Trump’s ‘Murica drag us back to the dark ages. For the parents in the comments section, have your kids had more complaints and issues since Trump’s election? Continue reading

Dodge Exploits Martin Luther King to Sell Trucks, Twitter Erupts

Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream a very long time ago. And we can assure readers of the following: His dream was most definitely not to have his legendary words used in an ad for Dodge Ram trucks. But that's exactly what the car company did at Super Bowl 52, excerpting portions of the activity's 1968 speech “The Drum Major Instinct.” The 30-second ad cost Dodge $5 million… and a great deal of negative PR. It turned into a tribute to patriotism, complete with photos of U.S. Marines and a camouflage-clad soldier hugging his child.  This was a pitch for Dodge Ram trucks' “Built To Serve” volunteer program, but the commercial instead provoked anger from many viewers and a rebuke from the King Center itself, which says its mission is to carry on his teachings and to “empower change-makers who are continuing his efforts today.” The mission does NOT include the use of King to sell a bunch of vehicles. Tweeted The King Center during the game, as opinions were being voiced all around social media: Neither @TheKingCenter nor @BerniceKing is the entity that approves the use of #MLK's words or imagery for use in merchandise, entertainment (movies, music, artwork, etc) or advertisement, including tonight's @Dodge #SuperBowl commercial. Later, after writer Michael Arceneaux wrote on Twitter, “So that means the King children allowed Dr. King's voice to be used to sell me a Dodge truck,” Bernice King replied very simply: “No.” Added Tim Calkins, a marketing professor at Northwestern University: “The use of MLK to promote Ram trucks strikes many people as crass and inappropriate.” And Kelly O'Keefe, a professor at Virginia Commonwealth University's Brandcenter: “They pushed it over the edge. You wanted to root for it because the cause is good, but it just didn't end up fitting the brand, so you ended up feeling a little bit manipulated.” Do you agree? Or is this much ado over very little? Watch the controversial Super Bowl commercial below and decide for yourself:
