Police Shed Light On Argument That Led To Fatal Beating Of Black Tourist In Greece This story is downright sickening and the more we learn, the more upset we become. According to the latest NY Daily News reports , Bakari Henderson, a recent University of Arizona graduate visiting Greece to work on a photoshoot, may have been beaten to death as the result of an argument over a request to take a photo. On Sunday Greek newspaper Kathimerini reported that witnesses say Henderson and his friends wanted to take a photo with a waitress at the Bar Code bar but that request upset a bouncer. It’s still unclear how things escalated from there. Henderson graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in in business administration and sports management just two weeks ago. The 22-year-old was visiting the isle of Zakynthos when he was killed early Friday morning. Greek police have arrested two bar employees and charged them with murder while another six Serbian tourists have been arrested in the days since the attack. A 22-year-old University of Arizona student was reportedly beaten to death outside a bar by a dozen peole while on vacation on a Greek island. ABC Reports say Austin Native Bakari Henderson had gotten into an argument with a bouncer inside the bar and things escalted. More people joined in, beating the young man unconscious. Greek Police have arrested a 34-year-old Greek man and a 32-year-old British man of Serbian origin, on murder charges, according to New York Daily News.
Bill Cosby should spend the rest of his life in jail. The comedian almost definitely raped dozens and dozens of women over the years, yet a jury of his peers could not reach a verdict this month and Cosby remains a free man . It sucks and it’s stupid and we really hope Cosby is found guilty when he goes back on trial later this year. In the meantime, however, at least the 79-year old is being publicly shame in some fashion, even if it’s not exactly the same as wearing an orange jumpsuit behind cold metal bars. On Friday, the Board of Curators at the University of Missouri voted unanimously to strip Cosby of the doctorate in humane letters that he received in 1999. This no-brainer of a decision was the first time the school had ever revoked an honorary degree. But it’s probably the first time a celebrity to whom it had given this distinction was accused of over 50 women of sexual assault. In a statement, University President Mun Choi cited assault allegations from all these women as the reason behind the move, saying Cosby’s alleged actions don’t reflect the school’s values. Altogether, around 25 other schools across the nation have similarly revoked honorary degrees and awards given to Cosby since nearly 60 women accused him of drugging and raping them. (Seriously! This guy is so guilty!) About a year ago, the University of Connecticut took this step, also voting unanimously to rescind the Doctor of Fine Arts given to Cosby in 1996. The resolution at the time cited Cosby’s own admissions in lawsuit depositions. In one, for example, he admitted he had affairs with young models and actresses and had obtained quaaludes to give to women he wanted to have sex with. (Seriously! This guy is so, so guilty!) “The University respects the principles of due process and Mr. Cosby’s right to a fair and public trial on the criminal charges against him,” the resolution said last year, adding in detail: “But the conduct which he admitted in his sworn testimony provides compelling reasons for the University of Connecticut to consider the revocation of his honorary degree. “This is an extraordinary action that is not being taken lightly.” We live in extraordinary times, that’s for sure. Cosby apparently plans to tour the country this summer and host seminars to help young men avoid being charged with sexual assault. We’re not making this up. According to spokesman Andrew Wyatt, Cosby wants kids to “know what they’re facing when they’re hanging out and partying, when they’re doing certain things they shouldn’t be doing.” Such a show of hubris on Cosby’s part is truly remarkable. Getty Images Fruit Juice Ruled A “No-No” To Prevent Chunky, Rotten Tooth Babies It’s time for us to curb these chunky babies from drinking sugar. Even if its natural sugar. They’re still getting fat! According to new guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics published on Monday, children under one should not be consuming any kids of fruit juice, unless advised by a doctor. Fox 5 News reports from Washington, that pediatrics based this new advisory on the rising rates of obesity and concerns about tooth cavities. Previously, 6-months-old was the recommended age to introduce fruit juices into a baby’s diet. Breast milk is still highly recommended at this age. Dr. Steven A. Abrams, chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas, and co-author of the policy statement says: “We couldn’t really see any reason why juice was still part of the potential recommendation for 6- to 12-month-old kids. We recommend breastfeeding or formula in that age group.” He also addressed the cavity epidemic in pediatric kids. “The problem is, parents will stick a bottle or sippy cup in the kid’s mouth and kind of leave it there all day. That’s not good from the calorie-intake perspective, and it’s sure not good for the teeth. What happens is, the kid then gets used to all the sugar, and then they won’t drink water.”
Former NFL wide receiver Michael D. Jackson has passed away at the age of 48. Jackson divided his eight seasons in the pros between the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens, and he led the league in receiving yards in 1996. After retiring from football, Jackson successfully ran for mayor of his hometown of Tangipahoa, Louisiana. Sadly, it was while he was riding his motorcycle through the streets of his beloved hometown that Jackson’s life was tragically cut short early Friday morning. Police say Jackson was riding his 2013 Kawasaki at a “high rate of speed” when he collided with a car that was backing out of a driveway. The impact of the crash was so powerful that Jackson’s motorcycle smashed through the passenger’s side door of the car and killed the driver, a 20-year-old woman. A full investigation into the accident is being conducted. Tributes to Jackson from fans, friends, and former teammates have been pouring in on social media since the moment that news of his death went public. But while he’s most famous for his career on the playing field, those who knew Jackson best say it’s his commitment to public service that they’ll remember most. In 2008, Jackson entered the political arena and served for four years as the mayor of his native Tangipahoa. “Right now, I want to set a standard,” Jackson told the press upon being elected. “I want to have that standard high enough so that whomever decides to run for this position they will feel obligated to do at least what I have done and far better — so that’s what I want to do.” He added: “I want to set a concrete floor, so we can erect a house here in my hometown.” Though his career was cut short by injury, Jackson put up impressive numbers in several seasons and played alongside some of the legends of the game. He was a teammate of Brett Favre’s during his time at Southern Mississippi University, and he played for Bill Belichick when the future Patriots legend was head coach of the Cleveland Browns. “Michael Jackson was more than a great player, he was a great man,” the Cleveland Browns tweeted. “Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Jesus take the wheel… Steve Stephens On The Run For Facebook Live Killing A manhunt is still underway for a man who police say committed murder on Facebook Live. Steve Stephens is on the run for the murder of Robert Godwin, Sr., 74, and for bragging about the other alleged homicides he committed. According to NBC , Stephens is considered armed and dangerous and there have been no sightings of him since the killing at 2 p.m. Earlier, students at Cleveland State University were warned to take shelter or stay away from the school amid reports that he was coming to the campus. That report is as of yet unfounded. Stephens true intentions are unknown, but authorities report that his Facebook page said he “lost everything” to gambling and he wanted to speak to his mother and another woman, believed to be his ex-girlfriend. “I killed 15 today because of [woman’s name],” wrote Stephens on Facebook who also called his crimes the “Easter slaughter.” NBC reports that Stephens worked for Beech Brook, a children’s mental health center. In a statement, a center spokesperson said: “We are shocked and horrified.
