Andrea #39;Andy#39; DelVesco, 21 #x0028;left and right#x0029;, a senior at UCLA, was found dead in her Westwood apartment Monday following a fire. According to officials, DelVesco#39;s apartment was equipped with working smoke alarms, and there were no bars on the windows to prevent her from escaping the flames and smoke. Bill Cosby’s Lawyer Blasts Fordham For Revoking Honorary Degree Bill Cosby’s lawyer, attorney John P. Schmitt responded to Fordham University’s decision to rescind the honorary doctorate degree they granted Cosby in 2001, saying though the school had the right to do so, it was an irresponsible move with inaccurate explanations. Fordham revoked the degree in light of Cosby’s recently disclosed deposition where he admitted to acquiring drugs to dispense to women for the purpose of having sex with them. But in a letter addressed to the university’s president, Schmitt, noting he was a Fordham Law School alumn, said the Board of Trustees’ decision was “so irresponsible as to shock the conscience” and it “grossly mischaracterizes both Mr. Cosby’s actions and his deposition testimony, in language more befitting a tabloid journal rather than a respected institution of higher learning.” “Nothing in his testimony admits to any nonconsensual sexual contact with any woman whatsoever. As you know, Mr. Cosby has been convicted of no crime and has steadfastly maintained his innocence.” Interesting. We guess he had to get that off his chest…but we seriously doubt that will cause the school to have much of a change of heart.

If you’re not aware of the Americanism – probably because you refuse to trawl Reddit and don’t have hip teenage friends – let me enlighten you as to what it means. Their are two primary meanings. The first is pretty obvious – it means to watch Netflix and chill out with your mates. The second, the primary reason the phrase has become such a wide spread meme, is to invite someone from the opposite gender over to, well, um… Even with the risk of a mass ‘Netflix and Chill’ gathering becoming something out of 50 Shades of Grey, that hasn’t stopped the social app Knock Knock (no, we’ve never heard of it either) organising the very first ‘Netflix and Chill Festival’. The highly anticipated event will take place at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia on the 25 September and currently has over 21 thousand people attending on Facebook. Check out some juicy tidbits from a recent interview with Sidibe via Page Six : For Sidibe’s character, the season promises more visibility. Becky has a promotion and, with the arrival of new character J-Poppa (Mo McRae of “Murder in the First” and “Sons of Anarchy”), a chance for love. “My first soap opera romance,” said Sidibe, 32. “Empire” in a recent interview with The Associated Press. AP: What’s ahead for Becky? Sidibe: At the end of last season, Becky went from assistant to Lucious to a promotion, and she’s now the head of A&R (artists and repertoire). She now has more power than she ever had. She’s not serving someone, she’s not taking phone calls or making appointments for other people. She has her own roster of clients that she’s dealing with. So it’s really fun. AP: Are you and Becky alike? Sidibe: I’m not as much a go-getter as Becky is. We are similar in the way that we’re smarter than people think we are, but I think she works a lot harder than I do. And she’s much more serious than I am. AP: You were 24 and studying to be a psychologist when “Precious” launched you unexpectedly into an acting career. How have you changed since then? Sidibe: I’ve learned it doesn’t help to say, ‘No, I can’t do it.’ I’ve learned that fear is not useful. I’m surprised how many things I’ve bumped into over the last eight years that scared me to death and that, when I actually came across them, I didn’t even feel it. It’s interesting how well I’ve been able to forget to have fear. AP: You’ve become known as someone who refuses to be defined by limited standards for women’s looks. Do you feel a responsibility to act as a role model? Sidibe: When I was a young girl, I didn’t see enough of myself on TV or in magazines. And representation is very important to everyone, but especially to girls like me, and people like me, whether it be because of my body, because of my race, because of my skin color, because of my awkwardness or where I come from. While it makes me nervous to represent for anyone, I am extremely proud that some brown, round little girl sitting in front of the TV can look at me and that exists as well and that she has some value. That is the most important thing in the world. … What’s surprising is that it doesn’t always come from kids. I get it from the brown, round little girl but also the skinny white man. I think I am a round peg trying to fit into a square hole. And I think that’s what people relate to. We do love the fact that Gabourey is so successful and someone that EVERYONE can relate to, not just the people who fit the standard of beauty that Hollywood usually loves to promote. Rutgers Football Player Leonte Carroo Arrested After Fight Between Girlfriend And Mistress This is some s#!t straight out of a Mona Scott Young Show… Rutgers University wide receiver Leonte Carroo, his mother, his side piece and he father all caught charges after a Love & Hip-Hop-esque fight popped off outside the school’s football complex. Leonte’s momma, Lavern Carroo, 41, was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct. Additionally, Maria Vega, a school employee, and her father, Juan Vega, were hit with charges related to the fade. According to the police report, there was some hair-pulling and face slapping. Again, very reminiscent of Mona’s signature style. Via NJ Police have accused Leonte Carroo of slamming a woman to a concrete surface outside of the Hale Center after the team’s loss to Washington State on Sept. 12, according to a complaint filed in Piscataway municipal court. He was charged with simple assault in a domestic violence incident. A day after the altercation, Carroo was suspended indefinitely from the team and on Sept. 14 he pleaded not guilty to simple assault. Carroo reportedly was intervening in an altercation between two women he has been romantically involved with. It’s believed that Maria Vega had a romantic relationship with Carroo. Juan Vega’s relationship to Maria is unclear. Both are from Fort Lee. The alleged victim worked for the Rutgers football program as a recruiting ambassador, multiple people with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media last week.
