Rebbeca Martinson, the University of Maryland student who gained web notoriety after her insane sorority e-mail went viral, now has an advice column. And why shouldn’t she? If there’s anyone who knows how to administer tough love or lay the smack down on BroBible readers when needed, it’s R-Mart. In her first effort, Rebecca Martinson offers some advice to female readers about how to get a guy you meet at the bar to text you the following day. Yes, she deploys the CAPS LOCK. And begins with the observation that “to most drunk guys a wet hole is a wet hole.” Becks always cuts to the chase. Below are excerpts from Martinson’s official bro texting guide … “I don’t think a single weekend has gone by during the semester where at least one of my roommates hasn’t moped her way onto one of our couches and begun whining about how some guy she met at the bar or wherever the night before hasn’t texted her yet.” “‘But guys, he bought me, like, six rails!’ Well duh, he was trying to get into your pants.” “There needs to be a public service announcement on E! in the middle of a Kardashians episode that says, ‘ATTENTION: NO SANE MAN GOES TO THE BAR TO NOT TRY TO STICK IT IN. HE IS NOT THERE TO GET TO KNOW YOU. HE IS NOT THERE TO HEAR YOU TALK ABOUT YOURSELF AND HOW MUCH YOU LOVE YOUR NEW SHADES OF NAIL POLISH. HE IS THERE TO GIVE YOU THE D FOR FREE!'” In which case, this is how you do it … 1. Only half put out . So I know this sounds counterintuitive, but hear me out. Look back at the lovely and informative PSA. Is it mentioned anywhere in there that he’s out trying to find a girl with a lovely personality and who cooks like Paula Deen on a crack binge while simultaneously being Jenna Jameson in the sack? Nope. To most drunk guys a wet hole is a wet hole, and with each cranberry vodka you slurp down you’re both less likely to remember what either of you talked about. Woman Arrested After Trying To Stab Possessed By Devil Mom To Death This broad must have been on some type of drugs for sure! Via ABC 7 KVIA: El Paso Police arrested a 25-year-old woman and charged her with criminal attempted murder after she allegedly tried to stab her mom. At about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to a home in the 6100 block of Quail in Northeast where they found Jennifer Alvarado, nude and covered in blood. She was taken into custody and police found her mother, 56-year-old Barbara Herrera on the ground outside the home with multiple stab wounds. Alvarado told police she was trying to kill her mother because she was “evil and possessed by the devil.” Alvarado was placed under arrest and transported to Sierra Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries she sustained during the incident. Herrera was transported to University Medical Center and was last reported to be in serious but stable condition. Sources close to Alvarado, who wish to remain anonymous, tell ABC-7 that Alvarado was acting “abnormally” in the past few weeks. They say this abnormal behavior led her family to have Alvarado committed to a local hospital last Sunday for what was supposed to be a period of 72 hours. However, sources tell ABC-7 that Alvarado was released at 1 a.m. Monday morning instead of the full 72 hours. Alvarado has been charged with Criminal Attempted Murder and was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility. Bond was set at $200,000.00 Yikes!!! Continue reading →

Howard University Responds To Accusations Of Bias Against Prospective Black Male Students Yesterday, we reported on an article by Dr. Boyce Watkins in which she addressed the recent claim made by a conference speaker that prestigious HBCU Howard University had purposely excluded black male students from their medical school this year and ended up with zero black make students admitted to the program. In response to the claim, a Howard University professor reached out to BOSSIP to clear up claims that the school says are inaccurate with this statement: A recent article circulated online erroneously states that the Howard University College of Medicine did not admit any African-American males this year. As of June 18, 2013, of the 120 newly admitted medical school students, more than 30 percent are African-American men. The data presented in the article are inaccurate and misleading. Howard University has a legacy of producing highly qualified and compassionate African-American physicians and other health care professionals who deliver patient care particularly in communities that have a shortage of physicians and public health professionals. Algebra Teacher Arrested For Having Sex With Students Via NewsOne reports: A teacher from the Grand Rapids Public School System in Michigan turned herself in to police Thursday night after being accused of having sex with her students, WZZM 13 reports. Jamila Love Williams, 35, was booked at the The Kent County Jail just before 6 p.m. She was charged with counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, all of which are felonies. No bond was set. More victims have come forward since Williams was charged, so the algebra teacher could face additional charges. Williams, a teacher at University Prep Academy for four years, was first accused of having sex with two students. The Kent County Prosecutor’s office authorized warrants for four counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct against the teacher. Allegedly, she sexually assaulted two boys–ages 15 and 16–at various locations in Grand Rapids over the past three months. After the police’s investigation into Williams’ conduct became public, more alleged victims have come forward. The prosecutor’s office is reviewing those cases. Michigan Live reports that Williams has confessed to having sex with at least two boys. The 16-year-old victim says he had sex with Williams at his home, a park, her car and other locations. The 15-year-old victim claims he and Williams had sex in her car and even in an allay. Williams has four children, ages 19, 13, 9, and 3, and twin step-children, age 16. Judge Edith Jones Says Blacks And Hispanics Are Predisposed To Crime Via CNN Civil rights groups filed a complaint this week against a federal judge in Houston after she allegedly said during a lecture that some minorities are prone to violence. Judge Edith Jones, who serves on the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and was a Bush-era Supreme Court frontrunner, allegedly made the comment while speaking on the death penalty to The Federalist Society at the University of Pennsylvania in February. The Federalist Society describes itself on its website as “a group of conservatives and libertarians interested in the current state of legal order.” In her remarks, Jones also is alleged to have said race plays no role in the administration of the death penalty, but certain ethnic groups commit certain types of crimes more often than others. Civil rights groups, including the J.L. Turner Legal Association, say Jones’ comments reveal a strong ethnic bias. They are pushing for an investigation that could lead to her removal from the bench. The J.L. Turner Legal Association is an African-American bar association in Dallas. Its president, Mandy Price, told CNN that some attendees were shocked at what they heard and later complained. “The reaction in the room when she made these remarks was one of shock, surprise, and offense,” according to one account that the legal association collected from some of the attendees. Take a look at what this broad had the nerve to fix her mouth to say… According to the some of the accounts in the complaint, the judge said, “Racial groups like African- Americans and Hispanics are predisposed to crime.” They are “‘prone to commit acts of violence,” she said, according to the complaint. Michelle Obama Speaks On Higher Education For African-American Students First Lady Michelle Obama is giving her two cents on the lack of priority that young African-American students place on higher education. The FLOTUS recently addressed the graduating class of Bowie State University, which is one of many Historically Black Colleges, where she made it a point to stress the importance of going to college and commended the graduating class for beating the statistics. via Think Progress First Lady Michelle Obama decided to trot out some very old talking points in her commencement address to the 2013 graduating class at Bowie State University: “Today, instead of walking miles every day to school, they’re sitting on couches for hours, playing video games, watching TV. Instead of dreaming of being a teacher or a lawyer or a business leader, they’re fantasizing about being a baller or a rapper,” Obama continued. “Right now, one in three African American students are dropping out of high school, only one in five African Americans between the ages of 25 and 29 has gotten a college degree.” But priorities should change, she said, because “getting an education is as important if not more important than it was back when this university was founded.” The first lady is known for keeping it 100 when she speaks, and this time was no exception. People Ain’t Isht: Professors And Students At Humboldt University Map Out The Most Racist And Homophobic States On Twitter!

It’s no shock that there are lot of thumb thugs that like to use their 140 characters to spread hate speech. Humboldt University Students And Professors Map Most Racist Twitter States Via GuardianUK Here on the data team, we tend to be skeptical about the accuracy of semantic analysis. But the students and professors at Humboldt State University who produced this map read the entirety of the 150,000 geo-coded tweets they analysed. Using humans rather than machines means that this research was able to avoid the basic pitfall of most semantic analysis where a tweet stating ‘the word homo is unacceptable’ would still be classed as hate speech. The data has also been ‘normalised’, meaning that the scale accounts for the total twitter traffic in each county so that the final result is something that shows the frequency of hateful words on Twitter. The only question that remains is whether the views of US Twitter users can be a reliable indication of the views of US citizens. Looks like all the racist and homophobic tweeters are on the midwest, south, and east coast.
