The red dates for 2010 are observed days with temperatures above 90°F; the red dates in 2050 are projected accounting for climate change. Images: Climate Central . As you can see in the graphic above, from Climate Central , in Philadelphia there were 17 days above 90°. The Bachelorette Studfinder: Single Jake Pavelka Crashes the Party

Like a good short story, a recurring motif ran through last night’s Bachelorette episode — and, like Shirley Jackson’s The Lottery , that theme was creepy anxiety. Kirk was so “nervous” as he held Ali in a stupid blanket, Frank emitted his usual asthma bubbles, and Roberto worried that he’s too skilled a salsaman for this whole damn thing. Tension! Also: Jake and Vienna anxiously reunited to talk about how their relationship was magical until a Lifetime movie took over and it turned out Jake had murdered some nuns (or something). Since he’s single now, we have no choice but to include him in this weeks stud rankings. Join us for the stud rundown!

Russell Crowe Curses, Flees Radio Show

A grumpier-than-usual Russell Crowe today fled a BBC talk-show appearance when the host dared to suggest his Robin Hood accent featured “hints of Irish.” Wrong, wrong, wrong, said Crowe. “You’ve got dead ears mate. You’ve seriously got dead ears if you think that’s an Irish accent,” he continued. “Bollocks … I’m a little dumbfounded you could possibly find any Irish in that character. That’s kind of ridiculous. It’s your show. Whatever.” Pressed further if he was going for Northern England, the Aussie spat, “No, I was going for an Italian, yeah. Missed it?” Toss in a few F-bombs and an early exit… you know, the usual. [ Guardian ]

Tinker-Bell Of The Ball

We’re glad to see Renee Zellweger out of her usual yoga pants / track jacket combo. And while we like the dress….we can’t say the same about that hair! It looks like someone took bleach and thinning shears to Justin Bieber ‘s bob.

Reintroducing the James Cameron Self-Parody Danger Zone!

Back in November, we eagerly introduced a recurring feature called the James Cameron Self-Parody Danger Zone , believing that the director would employ his usual, press-baiting braggadocio while promoting Avatar . Funny thing, though: he mostly kept his head down, letting the work speak for itself. Now that Avatar has become the highest-grossing film of all time, though, our old, quotable Jim is back and better than ever! Here are the highlights of his amazing new interview with EW , rated on our danger zone:
