LeAnn “Homewreckin” Rimes Got Knifed Up For The New Year, Shows Off New Rack On Vacation

A newly-engaged LeAnn Rimes flaunted a noticeably bustier figure Thursday while sporting a teeny bikini during her vacation in Cabo San Lucas , Mexico with fiance Eddie Cibrian, 37. “She recently got a boob job,” a source reveals to UsMagazine.com. “She’s always, always been insecure about her size. She was a small A-cup. She often talked about wanting to get implants. She’d say, “I just want a little bit so they’re proportionate to my body.’” To pump up her new appearance, Rimes even turned to the same plastic surgeon Cibrian’s ex wife Brandi Glanville used — and got the same cup size! Says the insider, “When Brandi and LeAnn were constantly fighting, one of LeAnn’s jabs at Brandi was that she was plastic. Brandi replied, ‘Be careful, honey. That’s what Eddie likes. You’ll be there someday too.’ Looks like Brandi was right!” The singer, 28, flaunted her new look while celebrating her engagement to Cibrian. “Cabo!!!!! Sun, bikinis, friends, food, tequila…celebration!!!! Gonna be the best trip!!” Rimes tweeted. Rimes admitted to Shape last year that she works hard to maintain her picture-perfect bod. “I’m a competitive person in a lot of ways, so I like a little bit of pressure,” she told the mag. “It makes me get to the gym sometimes when I don’t want to go, so in that respect it is good, but I try not to let it rule my life.” Source

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough Believes ‘Certain Networks’ Would Have Trashed Bush if He Echoed Obama’s ‘We’re Buying Shrimp’

Once again, the co-host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Joe Scarborough hinted that “certain networks,” (ahem, MSNBC) hold quite the double standard between Democrats and Republicans. When the subject matter was President Obama’s snub of an Iraq War question during his vacation at Martha’s Vineyard – he remarked “We’re buying shrimp, guys” – Scarborough pointed out that network coverage of Bush would have been far more negative. As NewsBusters reported last week, Scarborough also believes “certain networks” will “maul” Haley Barbour if he runs for President in 2012. The show’s co-host Willie Geist first opined that news coverage might have been different with President Bush. “I hate to make this point too often,” he said, “but imagine for a moment George W. Bush were on his sixth vacation, and he was asked about Iraq, and he said ‘I’m buying shrimp.’ You think that wouldn’t be a headline everywhere?” “You’re implying there’s a double-standard, Willie,” conservative guest Pat Buchanan snickered. Scarborough made it quite clear. “Can you imagine if someone asked [Bush] about shrimp – about Iraq, and he goes ‘We’re buying some shrimp here,'” he asked. ” I mean, they would, they would…they would kill him.” “It would be running on a loop. On certain networks,” Scarborough quickly added. Co-host and self-proclaimed Democrat Mika Brzezinski immediately changed the subject. Later in the segment, Joe and Willie were at it again. Joe and Mika entered a brief spat over whether the networks would have treated Obama and Bush differently on the matter. Mika, ever endeared to the Democratic talking points, dismissed any notion of a double-standard. When Pat Buchanan remarked that “they really would rip [Bush] to shreds here, I think,” Mika kindly retorted “I think you’re suffering from a very bad case of selective memory. I’m sorry.” A transcript of the segments, which aired on August 26 at 6:33 a.m. EDT and 7:12 a.m. EDT, respectively, is as follows: 6:33 a.m. MIKA BRZEZINSKI: The President is avoiding questions about Iraq this week, while vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard. Here he is yesterday, being asked about Iraq while placing his lunch order at Nancy’s. (Video Clip) President BARACK OBAMA: We’re buying shrimp, guys. (End Video Clip) WILLIE GEIST: Said “We’re buying shrimp, guys.” MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Okay. We’ll talk more about this later. Moving on with news. North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il made a surprise – (Crosstalk) SCARBOROUGH: That’s just kind of strange, isn’t it? We’re buying shrimp now, guys? GEIST: I hate to make this point too often, but imagine for a moment George W. Bush were on his sixth vacation, and he was asked about Iraq, and he said “I’m buying shrimp.” You think that wouldn’t be a headline everywhere? BRZEZINSKI: No, he was. In a golf cart. SCARBOROUGH: He actually said – GEIST: That’s my point. And noone’s lambasting President Obama for doing the – SCARBOROUGH: And George Bush said “Now watch me” – he answered the question, and said “Now watch me hit this drive.” In this case, of course, Barack Obama didn’t answer the question about Iraq. He said “We’re buying shrimp.” So your point is – PAT BUCHANAN: You’re implying there’s a double-standard, Willie. GEIST: Perhaps. (Laughter) SCARBOROUGH: Can you imagine – BUCHANAN: Isn’t that a bit of a stretch, Willie? SCARBOROUGH: Can you imagine if someone asked him about shrimp – about Iraq, and he goes “We’re buying some shrimp here.” I mean, they would, they would – BUCHANAN: It’d be on all the networks every night. (Crosstalk) SCARBOROUGH: They would kill him. It would be running on a loop. On certain networks. (…) 7:12 a.m. GEIST: We hate to go to this argument too often, because we say – imagine if this had been George W. Bush, the media would have treated him differently. But I mean, that would have been a – SCARBOROUGH: He would have been killed. GEIST: A signature moment. He would have been torn to shreds. (Crosstalk) ANDREW ROSS SORKIN, New York Times columnist: That was a Michael Moore moment. Remember, that was actually in the Michael Moore movie, sort of the iconic – GEIST: You’re asked about Iraq, talk about shrimp, you’re already criticized by some for being on vacation too much. It fits into this narrative. BRZEZINSKI: He gave a speech on Iraq on Tuesday. SCARBOROUGH: George W. Bush made speeches on Iraq all the time. Of course, what would happen is that they would have that response, and then they would cut immediately. News cast would cut immediately to dead Iraqi bodies in the street. We saw – BRZEZINSKI: Wait a second. You’re also taking out of context – it’s not like President Obama brought us in there. And there wasn’t the whole WMD – SCARBOROUGH: He’s commander – he’s Commander-in-Chief. BRZEZINSKI: A huge disgrace. I mean, there were a lot of reasons – SCAROROUGH: That’s all you got? That’s all you got? (…) SCARBOROUGH: You’re telling me that the left-wing wouldn’t shred this guy in a million pieces? BUCHANAN: They shredded even the ol’ man. Remember back there, when the ol’ man went out in his golf cart out there in Maine, during the build-up to Desert Storm? SCARBOROUGH: Tore him to shreds. (…) BUCHANAN: They really would rip him to shreds here, I think. BRZEZINSKI: I think you’re suffering from a very bad case of selective memory. I’m sorry.

Michelle Obama vacation Spain picture 2010

Sasha (R), daughter of U.S. first lady Michelle Obama, walks on the beach in Estepona during their vacation in southern Spain August 6, 2010. Michelle Obama might have been criticised for her luxurious vacation in Spain, but the truth is—the locals of her holiday destination adore her. The US First Lady and daughter Sasha, 9, were greeted by smiling crowds chanting “Obama” and “guapa,” which means beautiful, as they spent the first full day of their adventure touring a cathedral in the city of

Michelle Obama Criticized as "Modern-day Marie Antoinette" Over Spain Vacation

Andrea Tantaros has penned a scorching editorial for the New York Daily News deeming First Lady Michelle Obama a “modern-day Marie Antoinette” for her vacation in Spain with her daughter. “The First Lady is spending the next few days in a five-star hotel on the chic Costa del Sol in southern Spain with 40 of her 'closest friends,'” Tantaros writes, pointing to a CNN report that Michelle Obama and her group are expected to occupy 60 to 70 rooms. “Not exactly what one would call cutting back in troubled times.” “CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller reports the C-32A (757) the First Lady used to fly to Spain – one of the planes that usually serves as Air Force Two, and sometimes Air Force One – operates at a Department of Defense reimbursement rate of $11,351 per hour. So a 6.5 hour flight to Spain would run $73,781.50 – double for the round trip. The White House says that as a policy, official trips by the first family are paid by the government but all personal elements paid are personally. Since this is a private trip, the White House seems to be suggesting that the Obamas are personally paying all costs associated with the vacation. But there appears to be some wiggle room there, in part because the Secret Service must protect the First Family, and the cost to taxpayers would presumably go up during travel. A few years ago, as Knoller notes, the Government Accountability Office did an analysis of presidential travel at the behest of Congress. The Secret Service refused to divulge how many personnel and costs are associated with safeguarding a protectee during a trip, citing its policy to not give up information that might be used to gauge a level of protection.” I have no qualms with Michell and her daughter taking a vacation. I DO, however have problems with them taking along “40 of their closest friends”, taking up 60 to 70 rooms in a luxury hotel that rent for $400 to $2500 per night, and expecting the American taxpayer to pay for it. We paid for their $70,000 'date night', and it cost us $250,000 for their Air Force One tour of Manhattan. With our economy in the toilet and unemployment sky high I'd like to see Washington's rich and famous pay for their OWN damned trips. added by: 2helenahandbasket

ABC Hypes Michelle Obama’s ‘Lush,’ Luxurious’ Spanish Vacation, Hit Extravagance of Laura Bush

Good Morning America’s Yunji de Nies on Friday touted Michelle Obama’s “five-star,” “luxurious” vacation to Spain, skipping any discussion of controversy over the $148,000 trip. In January of 2009, however, the very same program chided Laura Bush for introducing new presidential dinnerware, despite the fact that the bill was being paid by a private organization. De Nies gushed, “They toured the plaza in old Marbella. Cooled off with chocolate gelato and bought matching sun dresses. Michelle and Sasha Obama are making a splash in Spain.” News reader Juju Chang vaguely hinted at criticism, allowing, “Michelle Obama may be taking heat for her luxury vacation with her nine-year-old daughter, but as Yunji de Nies shows us, the Spanish can’t get enough of her.” What that “heat” was, exactly, went unsaid. Good Morning America certainly hasn’t reported on it. ( CBS News reported that the”6.5 hour flight to Spain would run $73,781.50 – double for the round trip.”) ABC brought on reporter Ann Compton to defend the vacation: “Whether they’re sitting on a beach or meeting with a king in a palace. It is bringing forth the American culture, the American people, representing the United States of America. It’s never really just vacation.” Yet, on January 7, 2009 , the same Compton worried, “So, why is Laura Bush introducing new Bush china two weeks before they move out?” Co-host Robin Roberts warned about the “brewing brouhaha” and alerted, “President and First Lady Laura Bush are leaving behind a new set of dinnerware when they leave the White House in two weeks.” At the very end of the segment, Compton explained that the $485,000 cost was being paid by the private White House Historical Association. DeNies has a history of fawning over Michelle Obama. On October 1, 2009 , she predicted that the First Lady’s pitch for the 2016 Olympics in Chicago would leave not “a dry eye in the house.” On April 29, 2009 , she lauded Mrs. Obama as the “belle of the ball.” A transcript of the August 6 segment, which aired at 8:03am EDT, follows: JUJU CHANG: And the First Lady’s summer in Spain . Michelle Obama may be taking heat for her luxury vacation with her nine-year-old daughter, but as Yunji de Nies shows us, the Spanish can’t get enough of her. YUNJI DE NIES: They toured the plaza in old Marbella. Cooled off with chocolate gelato and bought matching sun dresses. Michelle and Sasha Obama are making a splash in Spain . UNIDENTIFIED SPANISH WOMAN [through translator]: She’s very beautiful. Very nice. I couldn’t see more, though, because the whole world is waiting. DE NIES: Wherever they go, the press follows. [Montage of Spanish reporters saying “Michelle Obama.] DE NIES: They’re traveling with old friends from Chicago. All staying at this five-star resort. Its website boasts lush gardens and luxurious suites. ROBERT GIBBS: It’s a private trip and is being paid for that way. DE NIES: She’s not the first first mom to jet set with her daughter. Hillary Clinton brought Chelsea around the world. Jenna Bush joined her mother in Africa. ABC’s Ann Compton covered it all. And says, there’s value to these visits. ANN COMPTON: Whether they’re sitting on a beach or meeting with a king in a palace. It is bringing forth the American culture, the American people, representing the United States of America. It’s never really just vacation. DE NIES: America’s littlest ambassadors have toured Russia’s Kremlin, Rome’s Coliseum. Even met with Queen Elizabeth. On Sunday, mother and daughter will lunch with the Spanish king and queen, a royal finish to this summer vacation. For Good Morning America, Yunji de Nies, ABC News, the White House. CHANG: I just love the way the Spanish say Michelle Obama.

Bozell: The Price Is Right — Newsweek Only Worth $1

Managing Editor’s Note: NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell issued the following statement about The Washington Post Company selling Newsweek to the guy from RoboCop Sidney Harman, for a grand total of one dollar : There’s something entirely believable about the Newsweek sale.  A left-winger pretending to be centrist sold it to another left-winger pretending to be centrist. Newsweek is a dying magazine because no one wants to read their left-wing propaganda masquerading as ‘news.’ The $1 price tag, then, is probably just about right. For more information on the sale, read the NewsBusters’ story here .
