Valerie Bertinelli’s getting married. The actress, 50, is engaged to businessman Tom Vitale, as she reveals in the June issue of AARP The Magazine. Hey, life begins at the half-century mark, right? “I’ve never had a male friend like I have with Tom,” she gushes to the magazine of Tom Vitale, who she has been dating for nearly six years now. Vitale proposed during a romantic trip to Italy. “We’re both still a little afraid of commitment, but over there, it was like our souls were calibrated. If the timing wasn’t right, I wouldn’t have asked.” Valerie Bertinelli is about to be Mrs. Tom Vitale! “If my life wasn’t starting to turn around, I couldn’t have welcomed [Vitale] into it,” Bertinelli says. “We just understood each other completely.” It’s the second marriage for Bertinelli, who filed for divorce from ’80s rock legend Eddie Van Halen in 2005 after nearly 25 years together. They have a 19-year-old son, Wolfgang. Congratulations to the will-be-newlyweds!
