MTV News And MySpace To Broadcast Live From Comic-Con!

By Kara Warner Seth Rogen at Comic-Con 2007 Photo: MTV News Exciting news for fans and readers who are unable to make the annual pilgrimage to San Diego’s Comic-Con this year: MTV News has combined forces with MySpace to provide our Web audiences with the most immediate and interactive access to stars from the most highly anticipated upcoming films and television shows, via exclusive live broadcasts. The daily live shows will hit the Net from the MySpace & MTV Tower at Hard Rock Hotel San Diego beginning Thursday. Hosted by MTV Movies Editor Josh Horowitz, the shows will stream simultaneously on MySpace and MTV.com , and viewers can take part in the conversations firsthand and in real time by posting comments and questions for the chance to have their favorite celebrities answer live. Tune in at the following times to get the inside scoop on the exciting happenings during Comic-Con International 2010: Thursday at 3 p.m. ET/ noon PT Guests include Seth Rogen from “The Green Hornet”; the cast from “Red”; director Robert Rodriguez and Danny Trejo from “Machete”; and many more. Mel Gibson Tapes: Evidence of Tampering, Editing By Oksana Grigorieva?

His vile rants have forever altered people’s perception of him, but Mel Gibson’s lawyers claim the now-infamous tapes of his outbursts were tampered with. The actor’s legal team says it has hard evidence that the four tapes (and counting) Oksana Grigorieva secretly recorded were tampered with and edited. If true, it’s still Mel ranting like a sexist pig , making death threats and racial slurs, and demanding to be orally serviced before burning down her house. But it may make the tapes inadmissible in a court of law. The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department will have to authenticate the Mel Gibson tapes before handing over the domestic violence case to the D.A.’s Office. That could take some time. Gibson faces investigation by authorities for allegedly attacking Oksana Grigorieva – while she carried their daughter no less. Mel’s lawyers deny he physically attacked Oksana in any way, and will present evidence to the Sheriff’s Department that the tapes have been altered.

Teresa Giudice Laughs Off Danielle Staub Lawsuit

Following his client’s confrontation with Teresa Giudice and other Real Housewives of New Jersey on this week’s explosive episode , the attorney for Danielle Staub says he plans on filing a lawsuit. Along with assault and battery charges , the lawyer says he’ll seek damages for “defamation of character.” To this assertion, Giudice has the following response: HAHA! “Don’t make me laugh. I think she’s defamed her own reputation all by herself,” Giudice told Popeater yesterday, clearly referring to Staub’s history of drug use, prostitution, sex tape production and overall lunacy. Unlike Staub, Giudice is aware that filing a restraining order against a reality TV co-star is more ridiculous than any defense of Mel Gibson. These women are paid to interact with one another in front of the camera. They don’t just choose to do so – they profit from the confrontations! “Believe me, if we could get a restraining order against a cast member, Danielle would have had four against her already,” Teresa said . “I never threatened her. She, however, has been on camera threatening me, stalking me and even practicing doing me harm.” Meanwhile, while viewers may claim to be be disgusted by these women, the ratings say otherwise: Tuesday’s episode set a record for Bravo, becoming the highest-rated non-finale of the series. A total of 3.29 million fans tuned in.

Kristin Cavallari on Lauren Conrad: We’re Cool!

Given their history, Kristin Cavallari and Lauren Conrad may never be BFFs. But The Hills stars aren’t exactly feuding, either. The two are “cool,” Kristin says. The two Laguna Beach beauties famously dated the same guy, Stephen Colletti, on the hit MTV reality show that spawned The Hills , which starred Conrad. In a hilariously contrived move, Cavallari replaced LC as the protagonist and “narrator” of the series in 2009, when she decided to leave after five seasons. Following The Hills series finale this week, the two reunited along with the whole cast, past and present, at the live after-show bash at the Roosevelt Hotel. Despite what some think, the two don’t hate each other at all. A rare joint Lauren Conrad-Kristin Cavallari photo op! “I saw her at the wrap party on Saturday and we caught up,” Cavallari said at the after-show party , explaining that they’re now cordial, but that’s about it. “We are not going to lunch together and I don’t have her phone number, but we are cool,” adds Cavallari of Conrad, who’s kept a low profile this past year. Both girls also dated Brody Jenner at some point. Speaking of that guy, whose fake relationship with Kristin was a primary, bogus story line this season, he’s now with Avril Lavigne – but still close to Kristin. “Our friendship is the most important thing and I don’t think that anything will ever get in the way of that,” says Cavallari, who’s dating Miguel Medina. The CW Announces Its Fall Premiere Schedule

If the early bird catches the worm, then consider The CW’ s job for the summer complete. The network announced the dates and times for its fall primetime schedule on Wednesday — ahead of NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox — meaning you have even more to add to the calendar. Gossip Girl returns to solve that Chuck Bass cliffhanger on Sept. 13 (preceded by the premiere of 90210 ); The Vampire Diaries begins season two on Sept. 9th (followed by the series premiere of Nikita ); and America’s Next Top Model unleashes more Tyra Banks on the unsuspecting public on Sept. 8. ‘New Moon,’ Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber Lead Teen Choice Nominees

By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ Getty Images The nominees for the 2010 Teen Choice Awards, which take place on August 9, have been announced, and there are quite a few fan favorites in the mix. Among the celebrities who might win surfboards during the Katy Perry-hosted show : Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and the stars of “New Moon.” Cyrus wrangled three nominations. She’s up for Choice Movie Actress: Drama for her work in “The Last Song,” Choice Movie: Dance for her footwork with co-star Liam Hemsworth in “The Last Song” and Choice Music: Female Artist. In the last category, she will battle it out with Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Shakira and Taylor Swift. Meanwhile, Bieber is one of the contenders for Choice Music: Male Artist. He’ll be up against Jason Derulo, Drake, Usher and Adam Lambert. In the Choice Movie: Fantasy category, “New Moon” will try and suck the blood out of “Alice in Wonderland,” “Clash of the Titans,” “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.” Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson are both nominated for Choice Movie Actor: Fantasy, while Kristen Stewart has been nominated for Choice Movie Actress: Fantasy. “Glee,” “Gossip Girl,” and “The Vampire Diaries” will vie for surfboards, and so will their stars: “Vampire Diaries” stars Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are nominated for acting awards, as are Jane Lynch, Corey Monteith and Lea Michele from “Glee.” Five “Gossip Girl” cast members — Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick — are also up for acting awards. Although she hasn’t been on the show this season, former “Hills” star Lauren Conrad will face off against current “Hills” star Kristin Cavallari for Choice TV: Female Reality/Variety Star. Their competition includes “Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, whose co-stars Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio are up for Choice TV: Male Reality/Variety Star against “Hills” star Brody Jenner. Nina Dobrev Nude: Not Coming Soon!

As one of the breakout hits of the 2009-2010 TV season, The Vampire Diaries featured murder, intrigue and sex. But just because her character got it on with Paul Wesley’s Stefan Salvatore, Nina Dobrev has an unfortunate message for male fans of her show: you won’t see me naked! “I’m very content with not being nude on national television – I enjoy True Blood myself and I watch the show, but I’m happy that bra and underwear is as stripped down as I can get for [ The Vampire Diaries ].” Dobrev uttered these words at the Monte Carlo Television Festival, where she was also asked to compare The Vampire Diaries with similar programming available to viewers: True Blood and Twilight . She said: “I don’t think that we’re necessarily competitors. We’re all kind of in the same genre… but they are all very different. It’s like apples and oranges. I have friends in all three of the shows that are vampire related, so I’m very happy for all of our successes.” While Nina will be keeping her shirt on, there’s good news for female viewers of the show: Wesley and Ian Somerhalder (pictured below with their co-star in Monte Carlo) will NOT be. New episodes suddenly can’t come fast enough, can they?

Celebrities Cheer Lakers to Playoff Victory

Paris Hilton may have supported the troops this week, but other major celebrities were focused on an equally vital cause: The Los Angeles Lakers march to a second consecutive NBA championship. A-listers such as David Beckham and Zac Efron were courtside for the Lakers’ game against the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference Finals. Los Angeles eeked out a 103-101 victory on a last-second put back by Ron Artest. Also in the front row? Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder of The Vampire Diaries … together! Let the dating rumors swirl.
