Florida Cop Says “People Will Die” Over Obama’s Police Ban Of Military Vehicles Oh, the dramatics… Ever since President Barack Obama signed a piece of legislation banning all military vehicles from police departments nationwide, the boys in blue have all had sad faces. Via Orlando Sentinel “For some agencies, this is all they can afford,”(Volusia County Sheriff Ben) Johnson said, “leaving their people on potential suicide missions.” Volusia’s tracked vehicle can go through terrain that others with wheels can’t, he said. The department doesn’t use it every day, but it has taken bullets for deputies, and the ban is “taking a valuable piece of equipment out of our fleet,” Johnson said. “People will die because of this decision,” he said. Says another of Ben Johnson’s blue brethren… Osceola County Sheriff Bob Hansell said he’s disappointed with the ban and not having the vehicle will have an effect on certain operations. “This vehicle is used to rescue citizens and protect deputies against armed aggressor(s) during critical incidents,” he said in a statement. “Law enforcement is trained and experienced to effectively utilize this equipment and it will have an impact on our responses to emergency situations.” Apparently, before police gained access to the vehicles that roam the middle east, law enforcement officials had no idea how to keep officers from getting killed. Armina Mussa Speaks On Knife Attack Armina Mussa, Solange’s good friend and project director of her St. Heron brand, was brutally attacked last April , sustaining 10 stab wounds outside her New Orleans home. Armina is now speaking out about the attack, specifically rebutting the statements made by her attacker, Arronesia Christophe, who claims in official police reports that she stabbed Armina in self defense with a pocket knife she only grabbed as a last resort. Armina insists that she was brutally and unexpectedly assaulted with a kitchen knife, calling the attack “an act of evil.” “I watched my attacker circle my block before pulling into the shared parking lot of my home…It is evident that this was an act of premeditated violence.” More via NOLA Defender : On April 8, Armina Mussa was stabbed ten times. As the victim underwent surgeries in a battle for her life, the story exploded in the press on account of Mussa’s business partnership and friendship with Solange Knowles. Most reports at the time cited her alleged attacker’s version of the bloody incident. Mussa was in critical condition and providing a rebuttal was the least of her concerns. Last week, she sat down with NOLA Defender to set the record straight. The defendant told police that Mussa approached her car irate. According to her version of the story, despite pleas for Mussa to back off, the victim began screaming, then punching her, until Christophe used a small pocket knife stored in the center console of her car to protect herself. Mussa says this account is simply false, including the reported use of a pocket-knife. She explains, “I was faced with a kitchen knife that the aggressor and trespasser had in her hand while her vehicle was parked in front of my home. When I approached the aggressor and trespasser’s vehicle window to ask that she leave my property, she sat there with her head tilted towards me, while waving the kitchen knife in a malicious demeanor. I then said to her through the window, ‘You need to leave.’ The aggressor and trespasser then proceeded to exit her vehicle and wave the kitchen knife in my face while questioning me aggressively in regards to why she should leave.” The victim continues that she did tussle her alleged attacker, but stresses that she only did so after being threatened with a blade. She states emphatically that she did not hit Christophe, rather she tried to disarm her. Mussa recounted the incident for the Defender. “We began to argue for no more than a minute until I felt extremely threatened and struck. I was afraid to turn my back on an armed, angry, and seemingly violent person. So, I took the initiative to use a forceful handle on her by attempting to take her down and knock the knife free, which unfortunately did not work. The aggressor and trespasser began slashing me with the kitchen knife repeatedly until I was completely weakened and bloody. I backed up. Shocked, I said, ‘Why would you stab me?’ She appeared to have no remorse. I was stabbed from my abdomen up to my head. I then removed my own shirt to stop the bleeding from my head while I shouted my prayers to God so hard before losing consciousness.” “Amongst the extensive physical damage I have endured, coming to peace with myself mentally has unfortunately been a struggle. The accounts that have been circulating regarding what took place made it difficult to carry on.” This story is tragic and very STRANGE…from both angles. We’re glad to hear she’s recovering so well and able to give her own account of what happened that night. Hopefully she will continue to heal.
Woman Thrown From Car Accident Onto Church Pew A Texas woman was thrown from a potentially fatal car accident right into the front row of a local church on Tuesday morning. Sounds like the good Lord is trying to tell somebody something… Via ABC 7 Chicago : A Texas woman is lucky to be alive after her rolling vehicle threw her through a church window into a pew early Tuesday morning. The accident happened about 4:30am near Highway 19 and F.M. 1617 in Trinity in east Texas. The Trinity Police Department says the woman was a passenger in the car with another man and an infant when the car left the roadway, flipping several times. Neither the man nor the woman had seat belts on and both were ejected from the vehicle. The infant was in a car seat and loosely seat-belted in and remained in the car unhurt. The woman could have been thrown into the side of the church, but luckily, went through a stained glass window before landing on the floor in front of a pew. The woman suffered only minor injuries, not even getting cut when thrown through the glass. Thankfully, all three people in the vehicle escaped the accident relatively unhurt…and we wouldn’t be surprised if the two adults decided it might be a good idea to hit up Sunday service this weekend. Kim Howe was driving a white Lexus, which Jenner#39;s Cadillac Escalade rear-ended Saturday on a segment of the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California. Wow… Jermain Taylor Not Arrested After Allegedly Throwing Brick At Girlfriend Via ArkansasOnline Authorities responded Wednesday to boxer Jermain Taylor’s residence in Pulaski County after a 911 call but did not make any arrests. Roxanne Sarah Walker, 30 of North Little Rock, made the call about 10:45 a.m. saying that a brick had been thrown through the window of her vehicle by Taylor and she was bleeding, Lt. Carl Minden with the Pulaski County sheriff’s office said. Taylor told police he threw the brick at Walker’s car because she drove toward him, according to Minden. Walker had small cuts to her elbow and damage to her vehicle, and Taylor had no injuries, according to a Pulaski County sheriff’s office report. Walker was treated at the scene and released. The report stated that Taylor and Walker are acquaintances. Minden said there was not enough evidence to make any arrests and that both Taylor and Walker were referred to the prosecuting attorney. Taylor earlier this month pleaded innocent to charges filed after his cousin was injured in a shooting at the home, 1 Vintage Drive outside North Little Rock. Earlier this week, we posted a video of a cat trying to jump from the roof of one vehicle through the (closed) window of another vehicle. Needless to say, it did not go well for the feline . But at least that animal actually made it to his destination. The following footage features a ferret (who is wearing a glow-in-the-dark piece of jewelry and apparently hanging out at a home rave) who really wants to leap from the table to the ironing board. He readies himself. He bends his legs a few times. And then he doesn’t come anywhere close to accomplish his goal. Ferret Jump FAIL! SPLAT! Don’t worry, though: we’ve learned the ferret escaped this mishap unharmed. So it’s okay to laugh – and also to wonder: Is this now the worst animal jump on record? Or does the cat who crashed down his car and into the garage still hold that title? At least both animals can take comfort in the fact that they aren’t alone. Virgin Galactic, the rocket ship owned by Richard Branson on which many celebrities had planned to blast off into space, crashed this afternoon in California’s Mojave Desert. Reports indicate that one co-pilot died in the accident, while others were seriously injured and at least one individual airlifted to a local hospital. Reads a statement released by Virgin: “Virgin Galactic’s partner Scaled Composites conducted a powered test flight of SpaceShipTwo earlier today. During the test, the vehicle suffered a serious anomaly resulting in the loss of the vehicle.” The names of those on board at the time of the accident have not been released. Branson confirmed the tragedy on Twitter, writing: “Thoughts with all @virgingalactic & Scaled, thanks for all your messages of support. I’m flying to Mojave immediately to be with the team.” Virgin Galactic had planned for years to sell trips in which the vehicle transports passengers approximately 62 miles above Earth, allowing them to experience a few minutes of weightlessness before returning to ground. In June of last year, Justin Bieber said that he and manager Scooter Braun had signed on to take one of the $250,000-a-person commercial suborbital flights, even claiming he would love to film a video in space. Also, Lady Gaga had said she hoped to board a Virgin Galactic flight in 2015 and perform a song as part of the Zero G Colony music festival. Weather does not appear to have been a factor in today’s crash, as the rocket had successfully separated from its carrier plane during all of its 34 previous flights.
