Lauren Conrad’s Doing Marie Claire of the DAy

Lauren Conrad is not dead, despite what MTV wants you to think, you know with the whole cancelling the show she was the focal point of, that at the time was over-exposed and irritating, but now, a few years later feels like it never happened, unless of course you are Lauren Conrad, in which case it is all that you’ve ever done that matters. Apparently, she has a fashion line and a series of books, but I’m more interested in her series of boobs, even when wondering why Marie Claire is doing this fashion spread on her, it just doesn’t make sense…like the dlisters die with the vehicles that made them dlisters. That’s what I say, but no one ever listens to me.

Get Yo Thug On: Mom Popped By One-Time After Giving Man That Work With A Baseball Bat For Selling Drugs To Her Son

Some mothers take their sons to rehab. This mother said phuck that I’m whooping that a**. Mom Beats Up Son’s Drug Dealer According to River Front Times “She did what any good mother would do.” So says the attorney of Sherrie Gavan, a 54-year-old Jefferson County mother who was convicted this week of third-degree assault for attacking a 22-year-old man with a baseball bat. What was her motive? She said the man was her son’s drug dealer — and had contributed to his drug addiction. Her explanation, however, apparently did not convince a jury the way she hoped it would. Check out her firsthand account of the incident below. Here’s a Post-Dispatch interview in which Gavan explains the events leading up to the assault. “My mother’s instinct took over,” she told the paper. “I was scared. I was paranoid. I did not know what was going on.” The confrontation occurred, she said, after she had warned Joshua Loyd, the 22-year-old who had apparently done drugs with Gavan’s son, now nineteen, to stay away. But Assistant Jefferson County Prosecutor Jacob Costello made the argument to jurors that she broke the law, regardless of the circumstances, the P-D reports. “This case is not about whether Mrs. Gavan is a good parent. You can’t take matters into your own hands like that…. She made a choice to pull out the baseball bat.” The mother told the paper, “I don’t know what happens from here. I just know you can’t protect your child anymore.” A sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 4. Do you think she was right for giving that shady drug dealer that work or is she out-of-order? Random Ridiculousness: Man Leads Police On Wild Car Chase In Los Angeles

Dude , why? Man Takes Police On Car Chase According to My Fox LA A suspect in a stolen van crashed head-on into one of about dozen Los Angeles police cars involved in a nearly 40-minute chase that finally came to an end when police flattened at least two tires with a spike strip. The chase began about 1:15 pm near Exposition Boulevard and the Harbor (110) Freeway. Back on surface streets near USC, the driver drove through intersections without slowing and sideswiped or pushed other vehicles out his way at times. At 57th Street and Towne Avenue, the suspect swung around a corner and onto the wrong side of the road, where the van struck an LAPD cruiser head-on. The driver backed up and kept going. That could qualify the suspect to be booked for felony assault on a police officer. The van also was involved in at least two other minor accidents. Police on foot eventually slid a spike strip in front of the van, flattening at least two tires and slowing the chase. The van finally came to a stop near Vermont Avenue and 43rd Street at about 1:55 pm, with the driver getting out and running across traffic, then back across the road before slipping and falling on a wet stretch of sidewalk. The van was believed to have been stolen in the USC area. Check out the video. It’s a wrap for him. SMH. My Fox LA

When The Checks Stop Coming In: $10 Million Lottery Winner Broke, Homeless With 9 Kids And Catching The Bus To Work!

Mo money, mo problems! $10 Million Lottery Winner Broke And Homeless Sharon Tirabassi hit the jackpot nine years ago by winning $10.5 million in the Canadian Lotto Super 7. Today, she has to catch a bus to her part-time job and lives in a rental property that she struggles to maintain… Via NewsOne reports: The 35-year-old mother of six, who has gone from the lavish life of a high roller to now living from paycheck to paycheck, claims that the lack of a financial adviser and uncontrolled spending led to her downfall. Tirabassi says she was lured into purchasing all of the trappings that money can buy: a big house, fancy cars, designer wardrobe. Tirabassi also took exotic trips, threw fancy parties and gave friends and family handouts and loans, which weren’t paid back in most cases. Before she knew it, all of her winnings had evaporated. The once millionaire admits to checking on her bank account every now and then. There were always seemed to be enough zeroes. Tirabassi, who had bounced around from shelter to shelter as a child, admits she was unprepared for the millionaire lifestyle. Before her win, Tirabassi, whose children are from different fathers, had just landed a job as a personal care provider and had just taken herself off the welfare roll. She married her husband, Vinny, in 2006. He brought three children into the union and now they are raising nine altogether. The couple, who do not regret the fun they had spending the winnings, did learn a valuable lesson: “money is the root of all evil.” Vinny told 234Daily, “Money doesn’t buy you happiness. It caused her a lot of headaches,” he says. “She lost a lot of friends, a lot of family.” After Vinny spent 18 months behind bars for driving impaired and causing bodily harm, Tirabassi lost their home. The family was forced to move around quite a bit and finally settled into a modest rental property. Even though it has been nine years since her win, Tirabassi and her husband worry that they could still get robbed if people knew where they lived now, since their Lotto winnings did not make them a lot of friends. When Tirabassi is not taking the bus to work as a personal support worker, she maneuvers a hot pink bicycle to her place of employment. The couple’s Cadillac Escalade, which is one of four vehicles they purchased, is the only remaining one they own. The SUV needs repairs which Tirabassi says they cannot afford right now. After all that has happened, Tirabassi cautions Lotto winners to “try to keep it to yourself. Keep it to yourself and don’t trust anybody but family.” The young woman who claims she is not bitter about losing her millions is just now concentrating on the most important matter at hand and that is raising her children. She tells 234Daily “I’m trying to get them to learn that they have to work for money. Every so often they ask for money and I say, ‘I don’t have any money till payday. You have to wait ’til payday!’” Sad but very common story for lotto winners. But we’re pretty sure some of us wouldn’t trust our family with a ten foot pole when it comes to some lottery money.

Random Ridiculousness: Al Qaeda Releases New Inspire Magazine To Show Terrorists How To Shoot, Detonate Bombs, And Kill “Enemies”

These muhfuggas have magazines??? Al Qaeda Releases New Issue Of Terrorist Magazine Via DailyMail Al Qaeda has released the latest edition of its English-language propaganda magazine advising would-be militants on how to torch parked cars and cause traffic accidents. The Islamist movement’s most active branch Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, or AQAP, published the tenth edition of its glossy quarterly called Inspire on militant websites this month. Along with tips on terrorism, it also warns France to pull back from Mali and lists 11 public figures in the West, including author Salman Rushdie, who it says are ‘wanted dead or alive for crimes against Islam’ and carries articles commemorating ‘martyrs’ who have died for its cause. AQAP, based in the impoverished, lawless state of Yemen, has previously plotted to bring down international airliners. It is seen by Western governments as a danger to oil-producing Gulf states and major crude shipment routes. In a section entitled ‘open source jihad’, the magazine gives tips on how to set fire to parked cars, including advice such as ‘don’t get petrol on yourself’, and suggests spilling oil on road bends to cause crashes. And if that wasn’t terroristic enough… In a prominent feature, titled ‘No Parking! Are There Any Safe Parking Lots Out There,’ an author identified as Ibnul Irhab lays out step-by-step procedures for lighting multiple cars in the same, vacant parking lot ablaze, turning it into a massive explosion. ‘The West should taste some burning. They should pay for bombarding and burning our Muslim brothers and sisters’ homes and our Holy (Koran). For burning down forests, plantations and houses, please refer to Issue 9,’ the author writes. ‘All you need is cooking oil, this tip-sheet says, to wreak havoc on a curvy highway. ‘Today we have something new for you, VEHICLES. Vehicle are easy to torch. And the easy part is, vehicles need to be parked somewhere, right? How safe is that somewhere, especially in deserted areas? How much more safe will the West feel parking their vehicles, when they know they’re up for a TORCHING.’ Maybe we should get a subscription so we know what to look out for. Then again, that subscription will probably land you on some government watchdog list. Image via Inspire

Prominent Trauma Surgeon With Special Weapons Expertise Wanted For Murking 33-Year-Old Woman At Buffalo Area Medical Center

Homeboy had been suffering “emotional problems” over the last couple months… SMH. Black Trauma Surgeon Wanted In Shooting Death Of Woman At Erie County Medical Center A popular black surgeon is wanted in the shooting death of a woman at the Erie County Medical Center this Wednesday morning: Buffalo police are looking for a prominent trauma surgeon in connection with the fatal shooting this morning of a woman on the campus of the Erie County Medical Center. Timothy V. Jorden Jr., 49, of Lakeview, is described as a bald, black male, about 6-foot-2 and 250 pounds. Police also said Jorden, who served in the Army, could be “special weapons trained.” The victim was Jacqueline Wisniewski, a 33-year-old receptionist at ECMC. The shooting was “not a random act,” officials said. The shooting death prompted authorities to lock down the hospital as a huge police presence converged on the campus to find the killer. The lockdown was lifted shortly before noon. People familiar with the case called Jorden a well-known, popular trauma surgeon at the medical center. Two sources, though, said Jorden had experienced some emotional problems in recent months. The attempt to locate him also included information about four vehicles registered to Jorden, including two GMC Sierra pickups, a Cadillac and a Chevrolet Cobalt, all from 2008 or 2010. Police were given a photograph of the man and were showing it to people at various checkpoints. Meanwhile, a police helicopter and a police presence surrounded the area around Jorden’s home, on West Arnold Drive in Lakeview, late this morning and early this afternoon. K-9 dogs, the Buffalo and Amherst police SWAT teams, an Erie County sheriff’s helicopter, and a team of U.S. marshals all rushed to the shooting scene earlier in an attempt to track down the killer. Four shots were fired at about 8:15 a.m., killing the woman, police officials said. There has been no indication from authorities about anyone else being wounded in the attack. The shooting happened on the ECMC grounds, but there have been conflicting reports whether it occurred in a covered passage-way between the campus’s David K. Miller Building and the kidney center, or in the Miller Building itself. “The SWAT Team is in control of the situation,” Buffalo police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge said at mid-morning, during a news conference several hundred yards from the shooting scene. “It is an active situation.” Through early afternoon the hospital diverted emergency room patients to Buffalo General Hospital but the campus reopened shortly before 2 p.m., except for the Miller building. The hospital also said all employees should report at their regularly scheduled time today. Here’s a little more information about Jorden : He graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine in 1996 and also was promoted to captain in the Army, according to a Buffalo News profile of him. Jorden has been known as a highly skilled, busy trauma surgeon who was popular at ECMC. But two sources said he had experienced some emotional problems in recent months. A News profile in 1996 described Jorden as a Buffalo native and 1981 Bennett High School graduate who joined the National Guard in high school, went into the Army after graduation and served with the Army’s Special Forces, first as a weapons expert, then as a medic. In those roles, he was on active duty in the Caribbean, Japan and Korea. Following his Army service, Jorden went to Methodist College in Fayetteville, N.C., where he graduated cum laude, with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. Earning a scholarship through the Army’s Health Professional Scholarship Program, Jorden chose UB over other medical schools. While at UB, Jorden tutored local high school students in math and science and received an award for academic achievement from the Buffalo Chapter of the National Medical Association, as well as a dean’s award. From UB, Jorden went to Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Wash., for two years. He later joined the ECMC department of surgery as an attending physician in 2003, also serving as a clinical assistant professor in surgery at UB. Jorden is certified in advanced-trauma life support and has received numerous awards recognizing his relationships with patients, his teaching skills and his involvement in the community. In 2002, Jorden was one of about two dozen people honored with the Black Achievers in Industry Awards in Buffalo. Sounds like a really top notch guy who went all the way left. This is so sad. Hopefully they catch him before he does any more harm to himself or others. Source Photo Credit: James P. McCoy

Michael Fassbender’s Oscar ‘Lesson’

Happens to the best of us: “‘At the beginning people [say], “You’re going to be going to the Oscars ,” and you’re like, “Whatever, doesn’t matter, don’t think so.” But after a while it does penetrate. After a while you’re like, “Anyway, so I’m going to the Oscars…”‘ He laughs. ‘And you start to believe it. And I did. I thought I was going. And then I found out I wasn’t and I was upset. I was very upset by it. The first reaction was “What the fuck…?”‘ He sounds frustrated that he had let himself get sucked in. ‘It’s a vanity thing. It does become important to you. And it shouldn’t.’ On reflection, he decided that he had learned something about misplaced priorities. ‘A good little lesson.'” [ GQ ]
